What is ad.turn.com and why is it locking up my access to ATS?

I know the MOD's are going to get tired of me complaining, but I spend hours a day on ATS and this is driving me crazy. I started a similar thread a few days ago about ATS running slow and getting hung up every time I went to a new thread, or tried to post.
Something has changed on ATS in the past few days as now I keep getting hung up and it says ad.turn.com. I googled this and it looks like some kind of "ad tracking" company???? I am not that computer literate, so I really didn't understand exactly what they do??? So why has this just started happening to me in the past few days and how do I make it stop? Every time it gets to this point I have to refresh and hope it gets past this when reloading.
Anyone know what the deal is?? Thanks for any help!!!!!!

I notice if I log out and just want to look at threads etc doesn't seem to be a problem. But once I logged in and try to look up stuff etc it starts right back?? How strange?

Try this out:

To resolve the warning that a site is trying to load from your contents list follow these steps:

1.From IE8 Select TOOLS / INTERNET OPTIONS / SECURITY TAB / TRUSTED SITES / CUSTOM LEVEL / The setting that is Websites in less privileged web content zone can navigate into this zone change from Enable to Disable

Found it HERE.

Hope it helps.

I do not understand the directions but I called my brother and when he gets off work he said he would call me and explain it to me. Thanks for answering!! The weird thing is it is only happening when I am on ATS. And it happes with the page loading. Its not like a virus trying to pop into my computer its like its just part of the loading process. while loading at the bottom you can see the things loading and when it gets to this ad.turn.com it just stops loading???

Ok here's a better explanation:

If you are using Internet Explorer v.8 or higher do this:
1.From IE8 Select TOOLS / INTERNET OPTIONS / SECURITY TAB / TRUSTED SITES / CUSTOM LEVEL / The setting that is Websites in less privileged web content zone can navigate into this zone change from Enable to Disable

Select Tools from the toolbar (right below the address tab), then find the file named Internet Options.
Open it.
Select the Security box that is at the top of the new little window that you opened with Internet Options.
There's a few tabs, I think General is one, Security, Privacy, Content, etc...
Select the Security tab.
Select Custom level inside the Security Window.
Enable...

If that's not the trick, then you might just need to clean your cache and download Mozilla Firefox
Seems to work better although there's tons of people who have other opinions.
Just don't change your browser unless you have an idea how to do it.

I'm just trying to help.
BTW: I see the same ad.turn.com loading when I open any ATS thread, but it doesn't stop.
In the lower left corner of the loading bar.
It takes a few extra seconds though, but still loads.

The delay appears to be due to a "third party cookie" that causes a delay while it is being read.
In Firefox just click tools/options then uncheck the allow third party cookies box.

The same thing has been pissing me off all day. It was fine a day or two after your previous thread and last night and today it is back at it.

I do not accept third party cookies.

yeah...I not sure about cookies?? Especially 3rd party ones?? I don't want to disable anything on my computer that might make my computer more vulnerable to viruses....Not even for ATS

it's really easy you just have to uncheck the box, if it is currently checked.

But I have mine set to not receive them and I'm using firefox and I'm still having the issue as you.

I also know that I don't have a cookie or history overstock as I've cleared it multiple times today and the issue persists.

Hi

I'm having the same problem, but not with my laptop, it only happens when I use my google tv. Got it for christmas and it worked fine until a couple of days ago. I can go to all of my other favorite sites, but ATS just won't load now. Occasionally I'll get a peek at the recent posts page but that's it. Google tv doesn't have a browser per se, it's not set up for cookies as far as I know, which isn't much, just what the tech told me that set it up. Any other google tv people out there? Is it happening to you too?

I am using firefox also just so everyone knows. I also ran 2 in depth avast scans and it says no virus detected. So its got to have something to do with ATS. I also have no problem with any other site???? So its not linked to me or it would do the same with all sites visited...

I use google chrome and rarely have a problem. Maybe you could try downloading a different browser?

open up your internet security and block cdn.assets.craveonline.com that seems to have done the trick

I dutifully clicked on every button and option in FF, but didn't find the 3rd party cookies setting.
Can you help?

In Firefox it's: preferences, privacy, accept cookies from site, exceptions - copy/paste that ad link into the exceptions area and save.
