Clinton convenes mass meeting of US ambassadors

This has been addressed as few posts above, you obviously missed it.

If what is going to be discussed, is of a sensitive nature, then they are not going to use video conferencing like you see portrayed in the movies. It's a nice feature to have, but it's vulnerable to foreign governments and their agencies 'breaking in' and listening/seeing whats being discussed.

Then you have to consider that maybe not every US embassy is setup for video conferencing.


There's another possibility which I don't think people on this site would consider, naturally as this is a conspiracy theory site.
How about maybe there is nothing going on of a sensitive nature, and this is just Clinton wanting to touch base with her top people? Given whats going on in the Middle East, I wouldn't say this is a stretch. Perhaps they just want to make sure everyone understands the implications, their roles, what they can and cant do, and what they should be doing, as ambassadors, as foreign diplomats.
I don't think there's anything sinister in that.

Of course I may be way off base, and maybe Clinton is briefing them all about the imminent arrival of alien mother ships sent from 100 billion light years away to harvest man kind as livestock to feed a growing and hungry population in a distant galaxy.

This was discussed very early on; perhaps you missed it. Just because it's a conspiracy site doesn't mean there aren't a fair amount of skeptics bringing up rational ideas. Do we really believe that in a time of major financial uncertainty, with budget cuts looming for literally every sector, that Clinton would be stupid enough to demand the allocation of tax funds for a spur-of-the-moment get-together where she can play Martha Stewart hostess to her underlings? I mean, think what you want of her, but stupid she's not. And think what you want of him, but Obama would never be stupid enough to approve of or allow such a public frivolous expense less than a year from the kickoff of campaign season. The right will have a field day with this; I'm sure it's worth it to Obama and Clinton.

Seriously, a "touch-base" scenario would be feasible in the years of Clinton or even G.W. when spending was something that was hated but forgotten mostly. We're talking about an uber-expensive gathering at the taxpayers' expense approved by two people who could cure cancer and be called commie a-holes for it. It's not likely that they called this for pedestrian reasons. It doesn't stand up to logic.

Clearly I missed it.

At the end of the day though we are all just speculating.

Canadian Prime Minister Harper suddenly, and unexpectedly, announced today (Tuesday) that he is going to Washington for an "unscheduled visit" on Friday, at short notice, with a major weather front moving in to Canada's biggest most populous province. OK, winter weather isn't normally big news or cause for alarm in Canada, but this storm is one of the most massive winter storms to hit in years.

This sort of weather front would precipitate a state of emegency, right in Harper's own back yard, yet he still thinks it's okay to leave Canada on short notice and go to Washington. The excuse for the visit? To talk about trade and the situation in Egypt. Why can't they do this over the phone?

It's very interesting that this happens right after the Chinese President has several closed door meetings with Obama during a state visit to Washington.

It takes mucho planning to change a world leader's itinerary at short notice. They wouldn't be doing this "just for trade talks".

My guess is that British PM Cameron will soon also be making an "unscheduled visit" to Washington. If this is announced Weds or Thurs, then this will be my red flag that something very, very big is happening very, very soon on the world stage. Keep an eye on the UK section of news.bbc.co.uk

Something very big is going down folks, and they don't want to tell the leaders of the world over potentially unsecured communications channels, or even over a secure line.

Oh, and just to cap it all off, the US Ambassador to ... you guessed it ... CHINA just resigned today. The smokescreen story being issued by MSM is that he's quitting to run for 2012 GOP Presidential election, but no one ever heard of this guy, and the 2012 field is already pretty full of very, very well known names. I'd say something very big involving the Chinese is about to happen.

This meeting...wow. So many ideas about what it could be about. None of them good, unfortunately. Gut feel tells me someone has a nuke, or worse aimed, at someone. And it's probably related to what's going on in Africa and the Middle East. Could well be that China is making its move.

Very interesting indeed. I've been reading ATS threads and waiting anxiously for so long that now it has become an addiction. I would not be contempt unless I read something constantly brewing in the background This is definitely alarming if the ambassador resigned. Wonder how many more ambassadors will resign from other parts of the world (Venezuela ?). Hugo has been playing the side role of a attention seeking teenager while all this is going on. Would be interesting to see whats going on in the South American Continent as well. Remember Iran also working with Venezuela and so are the Russians?

hahahaha i feel the same way at times since they're all intertwined or related to each other in one way or the other. I guess we're really have a broad perspective of things on ATS and we do keep up with the topics so much that we really lose track of which thread we are on.

This thread should be re-ignited, as the meeting is today. Here is something I've not heard said that sounds an alarm to me. The opposition hates this adminsitration and they waste no opportunity to try to say he is wasting money and resources. When he went to India with a large entourage of 100 U.S. executives, the Right flipped out, eventhough lots of business was signed on the trip. When Mrs. Obama went to Spain with friends and the girls, the Right went nuts. So now we have a short notice, never before called meeting involving EVERY ambassadorial and consular top official (and preseumably their top people) -- over 250 office -- flying in, staying in hotels, etc. yet I've not heard a single PEEP from the Right. Not a syllable from the people at FOX, not on the topic of cost or an even easier target -- trying to say the administration lacks planning and foresight so it wastes money and resources calling everyone in on short notice. This, as much as anything, leads me to think something really is happening where even the Right does not want to draw attention to it.

People, keep you eyes peeled on the behavior of the rich and powerful over the next few weeks. Watch the movement of important global figures.

I really felt there was major difference between her eyes. Something i would have put down to illness. To me her left eye is much more open. In other recent videos she has looked much healthier. maybe its my imagination. anyway if no one else notices it please ignore and don't let it detract from main issue.

She(It) left her/its Hillary mask in the sun while she/it was warming her/its cold blood, and its a little out of shape. Noticed it too. Did you also notice how her/its tongue seems forked and it flicked in and out alot...

Yeah, this is true... you'd think this would be a MAJOR news story in the conservative media with FOX and the GOP screaming about the waste of money this is going to be - when these US ambassadors flying in from over 180 countries could have all simply linked up through video-conferencing and telephone calls.

This thread should be front page. What is so important that you have to FLY them all in from nearly every country around the world???

Exactly. That was the missing piece that was bothering me; quite often the most important hint of something brewing is what we don't hear. The Right today passes up NO, NADA, NYET opportunity to bash Obama, especially no when cutting spend is their #1 priority and the 2012 election campaign is starting to wind up. I am surprised this is not the most active topic today.

Instead of asking, "What is this meeting for?" ask, "What could be so huge that even the Right won't say boo in way of criticism of the expense of calling in staff from EVERY overseas office on short notice?"

Not even a peep from the Pauls, Bachmann or Palin. Not a breath from Beck or Limbaugh.

so we know about the meeting today.
But does anybody know WHERE they will meet?
Congress? White House? United Nations ??
That may be an indicator of transfer of power
