I am sick of running into these ego-maniacs, who think that they are somehow to be held in the highest regard in all areas of life simply because they are willing to be brainwashed into murdering and destroying developing countries.

Maybe 70 years ago the Support our Troops motto held merit...

Today it just makes me sick, we have not been truly aggressed upon. They are not protecting us or our liberties, they are not protecting our country.

Seriously, what makes someone want to even join the ranks?

I am just so sick of all the soldiers I meet who are mentally disturbed, violent, egotistical, arrogant, and ignorant.

Gung-ho doesn't even describe some of the sick operations / things these guys excitedly discuss, just downright evil, violent, gory things that I've overheard.

Without soldiers the NWO would have nothing, and without soldiers we would have no war (By that I mean America). This has to be the biggest and longest running disinfo scheme besides religion. We have to figure out a way to dismantle this. It's only getting worse and worse.

This is not an American army, this is a group of hired-killers that operate despite overwhelming opposition in public opinion and public interest and public safety.

And no, I don't want to hear some virtuous soldier extol the greatness of his particular rank or how he personally never kills civilians, or how he believes his particular massacre(war) is justified.

These are developing countries, they never posed a real threat...I hope you feel strong soldiers, seriously.

This is America! We have come a long way and though our Government has gotten to big for itself to maintain I fully support our Troops as Americans. This country was built on the backs of men like them who believe in it. Brainwashed for alterior motives YES! In that regards I agree with you. I am proud to be an American in this country but I am disappointed at where it is and its lack of growth in respect to where we could be. That my friends is the leadership our very own Government who has let us down. Not the troops who are willing to die for it.

From one of the troops you've just slandered.
You're welcome.
We fight so that you can have the freedom to continue to say insulting things to and about us.

Don't support them then.

No-one is forcing you to. Even the troops that would look after you would say you don't have to support them.

Rant section maybe?

CX.

So who is it your fighting that want to take our freedoms? Seems to me the only people wanting to take my freedoms away is our government.

I have to agree with the OP im feed up of 'support our troops' message getting forced down me throat, any right minded american supports his countryman in battle but our troops actions in Iraq and Afghanistan make me feel ashamed.

You're more than welcome to feel that way. It won't change what I think, what I feel, or what my duties include. I don't ask for support. I just give it.

I would assume most troops aren't aware they are fighting for corporations so its hard to blame them.
My buddy just came back from Afghanistan and he didn't know any better because he was believing the news and propaganda and just wanted to serve in the name of protecting freedom.

WW2 mentality in a 2010 world.

Without Soldiers, there wouldn't be an America. We'd have been overrun years ago.

"Overwhelming opposition in public opinion"? Really?

Here, let me rephrase that for you: "I want to rant and rave about how bad and stupid Soldiers are, but I don't want any Soldiers to present their point of view". My, that's intelligent.

I have no problem with people not supporting the war, but what they don't realize is 90% of the soldiers are regular people just like you. They have various reasons for enlisting. Perhaps some didn't do very good in school and felt it was their best option. Maybe some joined the military because they had the choice between that and no job at all. Sure, there's some that join because they want to shoot something. Those are few and far between though. You also seem to ignore the fact that a huge part of our military is made up of mechanics, medics and other similiar positions.

Edit: It's a shame this has gotten so many stars already.

Most of the people I know in the military couldnt get into college or university, but had too much drive to work at a factory, whats another common trait? They were all poor.

The military is Satan, and if you sell him your soul, he'll take very very good care of you.

Unless you die of course.

Now surely there are some brilliant people in the military, and it has provided vital contributions to science that we never would have achieved so quickly otherwise. but lets be honest, I've lost friends in the middle east, people I loved who I wont ever see again, and it wasnt to protect us, it was to destroy someone else.

Not to mention the friends and family who have returned, nearly all of them are psychologically damaged and are engaged in some type of therapy.

Please confirm this american statistic I heard the other day: 1/4 of all homeless - Are Veterans.

Support our troops, spit on the homeless? Errr? It sounds like a big pile of horse #### to me

These are human lives - and it breaks my heart that we cannot find the wisdom to bring it all together.

Hard to blame them even if they do. There are at least 10 jobs in the US for every soldier. Putting an end to corporate wars would completely collapse the economy of the entire world, and it would take ours down first.

Put another way -- you can draw down over a generation, through attrition mostly. Turn 1000 foreign bases into a handful, and find something more productive for the military industrial complex to do to make its bones, going forward.

Just shoving a spike between the spokes and forcing a sudden stop would un-make the world. The USA would be a giant Flint Michigan without the war. What do you think that sucking sound would do to the rest of the world?

am sick of it as well. am from the uk. my grandad went to war (world war2) in world war 2 there was a REAL threat the uk would be invadied. not in 2011 tho.. the treat is already in the uk/usa. there is no chance of the uk/usa getting invadied now. so why are we still there ? what we fighting for ? yes i think its sad when men and women die out there but what are they dieing for ? not alit as far as i can see. i ask my self why do kids join up at 16 and become cannon fodder for the system...... its all bull #. i feel that with the west going to war its made free speech less and we cant do as much as we want to or say. i think people need to take a long hard look at the war and think what we are really doing out there. our troops arnt fighting for us and our freedom thats bull# there fight for the goverment nothing more nothing less.....

Doesn't matter if the wars they fight are legal or not,the fact is our troops fight tooth and nail for our country, they sweat and bleed for us without bitching or moaning.Whilst your whining about the world on your computer in your nice cozy home there are guys/gals who have gone days without sleep, sweating their asses off trying to stay alive in the blistering heat, and praying to see their loved ones again one day.
Most soldiers would prob agree that both the Iraq/Afghanistan wars are both bull**** but at the end of the day they cant go marching around the streets protesting or refuse to work as they are locked up! they just get on with it because they have to.
A soldiers job is prob one of the hardest,if not the hardest job to do,and thats why so many people show so much respect towards them, perhaps you should show a little.

I understand that many soldiers have post traumatic stress disorder and can act crazy, cocky or whatever but I don't see any justification from your post to insult soldiers or generalize the military as a whole. First off, most soldiers I've met aren't joining the military to destroy countries or lives. My brother is one of them. He just got back from afghanistan. He didn't have fun, he isn't crazy or cocky. The only changes have been positive. He's found his step up into the world, he's become disciplined and now he has an opportunity to go to school and do what he wants with his life. He joined the service to learn skills and move ahead in life. He doesn't agree with certain choices the government makes or the military makes but that is life. Luckily there hasn't been a draft so you are not required to join the military. You also don't have to support them but you also do not have to disrespect them. It's fine to dislike them if they do brag about atrocities and evil no good things that some of them have done but the same can be said of anything and the bad ones do not represent the entireness of a group.

I try to respect these people as i have never been in no military, but i know what you mean. I think in ww2 they fought for nothing and won nothing as the world is just as bad today.

For me if you look at what these people do, why should you support them, but i think its sad humans do what they do.
