ANCHORAGE, Alaska (Reuters) – Alaska officials must release by the end of May an estimated 26,500 pages of emails exchanged between former Governor Sarah Palin and her aides, the state's attorney general has determined.

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/6913cecf06e7.jpg[/atsimg]

In a letter sent Wednesday to Governor Sean Parnell's administrative director, Alaska Attorney General John Burns said it was his "unequivocal expectation that all requested records that are not privileged will be provided no later than May 31, 2011." If the records are made public on May 31, the wait for them will have exceeded Palin's 32-month tenure as Alaska's governor.

The email records initially were requested in 2008, while Palin was running for vice president on the Republican ticket, by MSNBC, Mother Jones magazine and Anchorage political activist Andree McLeod. Records sought include communications with Palin's husband, Todd, who has been accused of wielding inappropriate governmental powers.

Normally, state officials must provide requested public records within 10 days under Alaska laws. But the governor's office, during Palin's term and that of her successor, Parnell, has sought and been granted numerous delays from the state Department of Law. State officials argued that the volume of material was overwhelming and it required scrutiny by experts to determine whether some of the information is legally privileged and should be redacted.

Well, this will be the final nails in her political coffin. There will be absolutely NO hope for her presidential run in 2012. Why anon72? Because no matter what is contained in those emails-they will be made to look as if she was the anti-Christ.

Seriously. I bet you the AP and the alike will spend millions to ruin her. 26,000 of them?!!!! lol. The MSM and the Dems (& some Republicans as well) will have mountains of material to make up stuff and exploit any legitimate flaws.

This will most likely be her biggest battle because we will now be bombarded with B.S stories about her from today forward.

I really wouldn't mind it so much-as long as the same standards were applied to everyone. Well, time will tell if she comes out of this alive-politically. If so-be looking for this type of Palin:

Going to be a very interesting 2 years.

I detest this woman and everything she stands for.

And I weep for people who openly support her.

So I say, bring it on with the emails!

It really does not matter what she said or did not say or what she did not say or said it not to whom. As convoluted as that sentence was, it will be far, far worse once this mess comes out. We shall be subjected to stupidity beyond all belief as hatred is spewed out by villainous, brainless, idiots who hate this poor woman for no reason whatsoever.

They just hate her because the ENJOY hating her. They have hatred societies. They feed off each other. It is disgusting how many hateful, worthless people define themselves by their hatred of such an amazing woman. Should she be President? Probably not. But I might vote for her, just to ANGER the masses of morons who hate her with such passion!

Who could stand up to scrutiny of any random 1000 email messages? Well, maybe I could . . . maybe. But not many politicians to be certain. 26,000??? REALLY????

This will give Chris 'thrill up my leg' Matthews plenty of fodder for the next few months. He's got a real fixation with republican women. I'm wondering if he's going to get some 'help' for that.

Seriously though .. what is it that they think is in them? What was the purpose of going after the emails? Or is it just a witch hunt /fishing trip for people on the left that don't like her? What is 'suspected' and what is the real evidence to back those suspicions?

PURE SPECULATION ON MY PART

Sample email; Todd, on your way home, could you pick up some milk?

MSNBC take on it.
Palin starves her children in occult-satanic-demonic-lactose experiment. Bosses her man around, while she uses a spatula to swat tiny kittens. She was also armed at the time of the email and may have left blood from an elk, moose, deer, bear, on her keyboard. With Sarah plotting to overthrow the government, we, at MSNBC, re-arranged the letters in her email with a special encription device and came up with this. . . . . .

"Lord Satan, we hate MSNBC and all liberals, can you destroy their 401K's and make it look like it is Obamas' fault?"

Later tonight Rachel Maddow will speculate on the email that Sarah wrote Todd where she asked for him to pick up milk AND peanut butter.
. . . . . . . . . . .
That's just my take on it folks.

Why do people hate her so much? Heck I could care less if she's "too country" or whatever else reason I can read on Youtube. Last time I checked, I found no former governers on ATS, unbtil I stand corrected, we are all below her. Whether we like it or not.

Very interesting that you make these points as your stance.

Before I answer. Would you be so kind to write up something similar about someone you support-why you like/support them etc.

Thank you.

I think if somebody went through 26,000 e-mails written by any person in America, we could find something in those e-mails to make them look like the anti-christ if we looked hard enough and were motivated enough!

I remember a few things that Palin's been picked on before that are things I might do myself on rare occasion, we're all human after all. Like this for example:

Palin Criticized For Doing Her Job

Her Anchorage office director and hometown friend, Kris Perry, has been with Palin for almost a month to help facilitate communication between the governor and her staff back home.

What kind of an evil person would bring their office director with them to help communicate and run the state while they are on the campaign trail? If they can demonize that, I'm sure they'll find she was killing innocent babies in one of those 26,000 e-mails, or try to make it sound that way (maybe they were baby rats and she called in an exterminator!
).

So, yeah, I think you're probably right!

I am not a big fan of political crucification, but I think the OP is right and those emails will be used against her. Probably won't be hard either. I think people will get to see what this lady is really all about.

Thanks.

I am surprised the Anit-Paliners didn't swope down on this one. Must have been too easy of a target. They must be saving their ammo for the actual email release.

I dunno to be honest... The general sentiment among the people is they are tired of the political games. By dragging these emails back up, which no doubt will probably be released closer to the 2012 election, will possibly blow up in the faces of the people who want this.

The voters are tired of hearing about the past and the blame game, and I think that was evident in the last election cycle.

What gets me is how people are portraying what might be in those records before they are even released. To be honest, who cares? If wrong doing occured, it occured in Alaska, and the people of Alaska should deal with it.

Its becoming more and more annyoing to see character assasinations instead of politicans doing their jobs.

Personally speaking I would like to see any party who participates in the gossip to be shunned by their supporters to get the message out that this type of behavior is BS.

Very interesting that you make these points as your stance.

You asked the question, I answered it. You find it interesting that someone would bother to answer your question? OK, fine. Maybe you shouldn't ask questions on a public forum if you don't want answers.

Perhaps you expected me list her political position as something that makes me detest her? Well, no, I don't detest politicians for their political positions, I don't vote for them if I don't like their positions, but I don't detest them for it. I detest politicians (or their media/blogosphere proxies) that try to make racism, exploitation, and blatant falsehoods a political position.

I find it interesting that you don't think you can refute them, some of those points are merely opinion after all and open to discussion.

Before I answer. Would you be so kind to write up something similar about someone you support-why you like/support them etc.

Why should I accede to your attempt to bend the conversation to give you an excuse to dump on someone else? The thread isn't about Julia Gillard or Bob Katter or Bob Brown or Nelson Mandela or Indira Gandhi. Its about Sarah Palin, and you invited the response about her and I responded to your query. I chose not to respond to an off topic query that will take the thread off into the jungle.

Apparently, you don't like her public record documentation being put under the microscope, and that's fine, but according to the courts, it is public record. Where was your complaint when Wikileaks published stolen secret documentation?

Thank you.

You are most welcome.

Easy big fella.

I think you took my response wrong.

I was curious as to what American politician etc, only becuase I noticed you were not in the USA.

I wanted to see who else you knew about etc as a comparison as I was somewhat confused about how someone from another country would have such strong views about her etc.

Not trying to trick you. My bad that I didn't expand on my thoughts.

I could care less if you like her or not. You can't vote for her so. I can. And I like her. She will either make it passed the forth coming email attacks by the media (and they should review them-objectively). As well as other politicans. Not be a witch-hunt. That is what I don't like.

Why should you be confused by the fact that I currently live in Australia? What possible difference does it make to the discussion?

I was born in Detroit and grew up in Tucson. Perhaps I should have listed Mo Udall in my list of politicians that I admire, and not so many Australians. Who cares?

You asked why people detest Sarah Palin. You made no attempt to restrict the query to US residents. Had actual foreigners answered they would have included things like 'she will set back US foreign relations by 100 years', 'she'll probably invade Mexico or Brazil or Senegal or the Seychelles or somewhere'.

I hate to break it to you 'big fella', but 'foreigners' have very definite view about potential 'leaders of the free world'.

I could care less if you like her or not. You can't vote for her so. I can.

Yes, I can if she runs for President. That is a pretty ignorant assumption you've made if you are so confused. I won't vote for her, of course, but I do hope she does run. Whether as a Republican or a Tea Party Independent, her candidacy will absolutely guarantee a second term for Obama (not that he will need the help).

And I like her. She will either make it passed the forth coming email attacks by the media (and they should review them-objectively). As well as other politicans. Not be a witch-hunt. That is what I don't like.

There isn't likely to be much of interest there. She was incompetent as Governor, so there will probably a bit of 'lets do X' and then a reply pointing out that 'X' is illegal and a bad idea even if it wasn't. There might be something about trying to use her influence to benefit her relatives but that has already been hashed over pretty thoroughly. I doubt that she is so stupid that she would document any embezzlement or anything like that, but I suppose she might be caught out lending support to the AIP again.

Those links to the AIP is the absolute killer for me. How can she or any of her supporters criticize Obama for links to a firebrand preacher who goes over the top with his rhetoric, when she and her husband have both demonstrated their support for the violent separation of Alaska from the Union? And how can people think that this person might be the one to lead a 'restoration' of American values and a 'return' to the original meaning of the Constitution?

It just beggars belief.

Do you think she and Obama can make a collaborate effort and ceremoniously show the emails and birth certificate the same day?
It can be like an unveiling or coming-out party!

I think they're both taking this: Don't Ask-Don't Show &Tell policy a little too far!
