ATS Street View 06: "China Unleashed," The Dragon Rises

Following the visit of Chinese President HU in Washington, DC, and the deployment of Chinese troops in N. Korea soon after the visit, our Street View team attempts to get some street-level perspective. Our chilly team braves the cold temperatures to gain some, -um-, interesting "insight" and comments from apparently minimally informed passers-by in New York City.

China's ultimate goal is world Domination. They don't give a hoot about their own people so where do the rest of us stand? Gulp. This is not good. My heart really goes out to South Korea, they really are a lovely people. When China marches, we are all in a lot of trouble. To say I am worried, is a great understatement.

I think everyone is misreading China's intentions. They are confiscating N. Korea because N. Korea is bad for business. In other words N. Korea over played their had. China would rather deal with N. Korea in their own way than have the U.S. confiscate the the country, and be on their doorstep.

Bottom line:

> N. Korea can't be trusted with nukes.

> We were going to have to go in.

> China's GS came to the U.S. to inform Obama that they would be taking care of the problem. That means confiscation of N. Korea.

Maybe once it becomes official that N. Korea is part of China then there will be great hope the armistice signed in '53 can finally be converted into full fledged peace agreement. :-)

Don't worry be happy, this is a good thing.

In a word china is taking N Korea under its wing ,to passify them that they don`t need nukes as they have them,so they don`t need them.I hope this is true as will result in a mutual peace armistice,with no further involvement of U.S military operations as there has been enough,with all the other things going on geologically,and politically.

no offence to any person or nation intended, but i have seen the damage the yanks have done in iraq and afgan. I would prefer china sort North Korea out. At least they will do a proper job.

What nation has enabled China to become the power that it is now? Did they do it completely on their own without investments by American corporations, that became global corporations as a result? How many jobs were outsourced to China by the Wall Street gang? Feel like you've been betrayed? Tough! They don't care! Its all about the MONEY, honey! Listen to them talk on the major news networks! I think it is a great idea to get the opinions of random people on interview, it shows how differently we are all affected by our surroundings, mostly the media.

Many of the responses were interesting and one would have to say that you can tell which people read between the lines. I saw a couple people pretty much quote stuff you see on CNN or FOX daily, some others had some well said complex responses without having too much time to think of one.

I wish I knew what the reason was for China entering NK after the big visit. My theory is what some other members have said is that China would rather not have the US even closer to their door step. China is better prepared to deal with NK , but that is a borderline decision of mine due to China's human rights record, but the whole world has a crappy human rights record so I will not point my finger towards only China.

I think China definitely gets the "upper hand" in this whole situation.

I would not be able to do the job of ATS Steet View interviewer. I would probably have the inability to maintain an even bias, I am stubborn to say the least. And some of those people interviewed need a gentle kick in the behind through the door of reality

It cracks me up, people like this who look at a country as a collective and not indivduals. There are lovely people everywhere, and bad people everywhere.

Also, i see alot of people saying china are this and that, and doing this and that, most of it BS. They are not in north korea for the intention of protecting the south. That has been made clear pretty much. In fact, china are just as annoyed with north korea as other countries are, and i believe they are there to keep the north in line.

I see so much BS going around about china. Most of it fear and jealousy that they will be the next super power. As long as they don't invade other countries for oil, like certain countries have done, and put more effort into their human rights, then i have no problem with china becoming the next superpower.

.....this my fellow friends is the direct result of our World leaders playing a game a chess. It seems as though the ball has fallen in Chinas court now and the question will remain of who wants to play? i feel the only reason China is moving troops to NK is for a reunification of the two Koreas. China has been the "other sleeping giant" for many years now and with the Global economic crisis in effect its a perfect time for them to rise.....only time will tell what exactly will happen so until then i'm stocking up on popcorn and waiting for a match to hit the Worlds largest tenderbox.

I'm speaking on a general way, of course, each person is unique and there are good people everywhere, I am not denying this. But the average Joe in the US is just like the description I've given. I am not worry about the righteous one, I know God Himself is their protector wherever they can be...In parrallel, "the criminals" shall find their account wherever they are too.

If and I am using a big "IF" there is a war consider this, china moves into N.Korea, know they have their nuclear power add to that the military of N.Korea, makes china a heck of alot more powerful right?
