I do not know much about Scotland, just wondering if this quake took place in a city that is close to the Highland Boundary Fault...? It doesn't surprise me that earthquakes are rare in Scotland, apparently (according to a few sources) that faultline hasn't had any active movement for millions of years (as far as scientists can tell). Definitely something to keep an eye on, see if maybe this is the start of some active shifting of the plates in the area.
