God help Chechnya if a link is established.

What do you mean to say? That Russia will conduct a punitive airstrike against Chechnya?

I don't think so.

According to Interfax, the suicide bomber was presumably from North Caucasus.

Very sad state of affairs, my thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones and those who are injured.

I can not help but wonder if this is a next step/extension of the recent Russian train, metro bombings...

I can bet there will be at least years spent on understanding who and why did this.
Security measures proved to be inneficient.

Can I be the first person to say the CIA did it and its America's fault?

I have no proof and 100% do no believe the above statement at all. Just waiting for the inevitable "Its the USA's fault" arguments to begin.

"Caucasian Mountaineers" are near, while USofA are far away. I don't believe in CIA's involvement in this blast, not for one minute.

It wasn't the CIA. It was the Tea Party. You will notice that no one is mentioning where George Bush, Dick Cheney or Sarah Palin were when this happened.

The above is not true and is not intended to be taken seriously.

This is devastating. I am kind of curious how many foreign visitors may have been killed in this latest attack, since it seems to have taken place at the arrivals terminal? My guess is this attack originated in Chechnya or Dagestan? Why another attack? Russia ended its counter-terrorism operation in 2009.

Russia 'ends Chechnya operation'

Russia has ended its decade-long "counter-terrorism operation" against separatist rebels in the southern republic of Chechnya, officials say.

The move aimed "to create conditions to further normalise the situation", the National Anti-terrorist Committee said.

Russian forces have fought two wars in the mainly Muslim republic since 1994.

The clip talks about Ramzan Kadyrov and is quite the controversial leader. He is alleged to have committed human rights abuses, ties to Chechen organized crime, rampant, and has at his disposal a large private army.

He enjoys backing and support from Russia. There is something about the guy that seems suspicious to me? Perhaps, these attacks are in response to his rule and his partnership with Russia? This attack at the airport was very bold and brazen by whomever was responsible, and I expect the response to be harsh. It happened at Russia's most sophisticated and recognized airport. Someone was trying to send a message. Hopefully those responsible are dealt with and minimal affects on the innocent. Russia tends to respond with a heavy hand in incidents like this one and others in the past.

Agreement on construction of two “Mistral” class amphibious assault ships will be signed between France and Russia on January 25, reports the Elysee Palace. The ceremony will be attended by President Nicolas Sarkozy and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin at the shipyards in western France.

Remeber Putin claiming Georgia harbored Chechen/N.Ossetian rebels back in 08/09 when tensions were high in S.Ossetia just after the war.

UK Foreign Office is advising people not to travel to Moscow. 35 confirmed dead so far, absolutely tragic, pointless. I don’t understand what these people hope to achieve, the only thing that is for certain is that they will have a lot of very nasty individuals on their case.

I guess this will be a new part of the history of Russia and the world because they will implement security measures than nobody is going to like, but they will feel safer in a way.....it looks like a difficult year for everybody on this planet.

What the hell is going on??!

Wasnt this almost the same scenario in Modern Warfare 2? An attack at a Russian Airport, was linked to an American Undercover op, and WW3 started.

No not making real links here just speculating at what ive heard

---

Seriously though, my prayers are with the ones who have died and there families, i have a feeling these terrorists most likely have come from chechnya

Hahaha I was waiting for the same thing but it being a Musssad plot, though your USA comment would make more sense and allow Napalitano to use this as an example as to why we need x-ray machines in the airports int he US.

For the record I do not believe the US had anything to do with it...

Watch out...They will be calling for marshall law here in America. All the scared little people who can't think for them selves will be begging for our government to stop all flights in from Russia. This will spiral directly back to the states. It was only a matter of time before this happened. And it's only a matter of time before some lunitic over here see's how much media this will get and goes postal at the airport. Frankly I'm shocked this hasn't happened sooner. I don't know why terrorist and the likes are so hung up on hijacking planes. Have you seen how my people funnel in and out of the pick up areas of air ports? They need to remove the security gates at the terminals and put them at the airport gates. I'm not shocked at all over this and I wouldn't be surprised if this causes all kind of crap over here.
