Sumday morning at about 06:45, was on my way out when i noticed the full moon surrounded by aircraft trails, so I took 2 photo's. Here is the first without zoom or flash

I know it looks crap but i've only got a Lumix 5mp cam and as you can see im a lousy photographer and you can't see the plane trials! and it does'nt even look like a full moon?

This second photo i'd zoomed in a bit, full moon this time but still a poor photo. But notice the round red object near the bottom?
[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/32c1656ab8ec.jpg[/atsimg]

Here is a close up of it (zoomed in and brightened)
[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/5316032275ee.png[/atsimg]

I myself think it's some sort of light reflection from the moon, but i can't explain how? maybe the iris of the camera?
Some of the suggestions from friends and family included "Another Planet", "Fireball", and "Plasma".
Just a bit puzzeled by it and looking for comments???

To me it looks like an artfact of the zoomed in digital image (like you said only 5mp) of the same contrail that you can see in the first photo. Because the camera was autozooming on the moon, the closer object, ie the contrail, began to blur out and take on a circular shape.

I would agree however, It's the exact shape of a Dropa Stone. Probably just a blur though.

I find your comments very odd and uncalled for.
I for one am a night owl and sleep during the day, many people are, or just early risers.
Its really noone's business where he/she was going.
As for your last remark. I, along with many people, enjoy taking pictures, and often carry my camera around with me. At the very least, have it in my car almost everywhere i go. You never know when your gonna see something that is an image that you want to have forever.

ok part 1 of this reply is to Wingsfan- "these red anomalies will become greater in occurance as time goes by...."
What do you mean by this? Do you mean anything at all, or is it as it seems to me that you are just making a statement for the sole purpose of raising curiosity???

and the 2nd part of this comment to inpropurr- next time you post a link and lie about a pic, I would choose a pic that IS NOT dated from January 19, 2007!!
fail

ATS has excellent groups of skeptics and believers. Better not try to get something past this group.

They will absolutely cream you...

This was in response to the 2007 photo taken last night.

First off, I did not lie! Especially about the photos I took, my Cameras date is off a couple of days, opps. I just downloaded the pics and saw it myself. I don't really care if you beleive me or not, I don't know you "thank God". But the pics are real and where taken when the moon was full over a period of 2 nights. So before you call me a liar, or that I doctored up the photos, "which I wouldn't even know how to do in the first place" remember this: I don't lie, I don't have time too, wouldn't even have crossed my mind to do such a thing. Because it's people like that (you) who keep the truth from coming out on a much needed platform as this forum. So stick it where the moon don't shine whoever wrote those nasty comments, and the rest of you have a wonderful day.

No Problem! I don't mind ye askin, I was up that early because i was going to my local car boot sale (do one every few weeks)
I Always put my camera in the car when i go out anywhere, has proven very useful for evidence in two accidents i was witness to last year, and im always on the lookout for any unusual sights i may come across and i also take pictures of the shipping on the river mersey which is close by.
The photo's above were taken from my drive as i was about to load the car, just thought it looked good the way a number of aircraft vapour trails were criss crossing the moon. Pity the pics turned out so bad!

That was awfully rude.

i carry a camera with me all the time these days, and mines a 5mp as well (cybershot) and my phone has a 3.2mp cybershot.

A lot of people go for wanders on a sunday morning, nothing unusual about it, I often taken the telescope down the shore in the wee hours of saturday night / sunday morning.

To the OP, from experience, it just looks like reflection / glare from the moon on your lense.

Don't let them get you down,I,like you keep my camera with me all the time and also hardly ever check to see if I have the correct date on it.The pictures are pretty cool, back in 1998,i saw a ufo that looked similar to your photo,at the time I wasn't really into the hype of ufo's and was quite surprised to have seen it.Keep looking to the skies, and the only person you have to convince is yourself,to heck with all the naysayers they won't be convinced until one lands on their head.

Its just an artifact of the camera sensor, when an object is too bright it overloads the sensor and the camera shuts down some of the pixels so not to burn the sensor out.
