Four Police shot In Detroit Precinct, Gunman Killed

www.freep.com

A female sergeant in a hallway was hit first. Commander Brian Davis raced out of his office, exchanged fire with the gunman and got shot in the back.

Then the gunman rushed the horseshoe-shaped front desk with his pistol grip shotgun. Sgt. Ray Saati and Officer David Anderson also were shot before the gunman was killed.

Nothing overly intriguing but still interesting news.

I wonder whether this will be the catalyst for police stations to become armored fortresses.

It will be interesting to watch for any (if any) developments arise from this as to what the shooters motives were.

I honestly can't believe that all four officers survived being shot at close range with a shotgun.

*snip*.
As far as them surviving. A shotgun is no match for a vest.

One thing for sure, more and more people a starting to see the police, as having a target painted on their back.

I hope they all survive and quit being cops. In other words quit supporting the doom of our country.

Perhaps not the use of a firearm but definitely quantifiable action against police!

Best outcome imaginable is that it deters them from continuing their employment as part of the police force.

And yes, it does seem that there has been an international increase in physical violence/intentions of harm/hatred towards police.

This coupled with the Port Orchard incident, busy day over in the states!

Out of curiosity, what do you think is going to happen if all the cops quit their jobs?

This is just a small example of the sad state of affairs that Detroit is in. The city is consistently one of the most dangerous in America. Couple that with a grossly understaffed police force due to budget shortfalls and corruption and you have the catalyst for disaster.

I used to live in the Detroit area. It is not pretty. If I had the opportunity, I would not only advise these four individuals to leave the police force, but to leave the state entirely. This entire country is going down, but that area will be the first to go. It is already bad. Just think of how bad it will be when everything finally reaches it's tipping point.

Not everyplace in the country would look like little Somalia in a worse case scenario.

Sure some places, especially in the Rust Belt, would be bad off.

Many other places would quickly stabilize under religious vigilantes and paramilitaries. i.e. American "Taliban". The Intermountain West and the American South would rapidly stabilize, between the parmilitary groups and the large numbers of American Armed Forces. Once stable, pacification operations would begin beyond those regions.

In a worse case scenario like that, you don't want to be in or associated with any criminal element. Places like Detroit wouldn't be just pacified, they would cleansed and it would not be pretty.

If anyone wants to know how humans react in times of total collapse and desperate crises, I highly urge them to study the Middle Ages, especially the 14th century during the Plague. Most people don't automatically turn into wild animals. Instead they fight to restore order and they do it without mercy and slaughter the ones who act like wild animals.

Its sounds horrible but its reality, its how the Taliban in Afghanistan and the Islamic militias in Somalia gained so much power.
