But in reality it's the corporations who OWN the government, and not the other way around. For crying out loud, the latest financial crisis is proof of that...they screwed everyone over, which was only possible because of government deregulation, and then got away with it by getting the government to screw us over even more through bailouts.
And it doesn't even matter which party. Most of the deregulation happened under Bush and Clinton, and the bailouts started under Bush and were then continued by Obama. Face it, it doesn't matter who's in government, CORPORATIONS are running the US...and NOT the other way around. At least if you're looking at the facts instead of opinion blogs

They have become one and the same.

Most of our world is too primitive at this stage of its development for truly advanced Social Democracies
to flourish. But, that doesn't mean we can't keep striving to make them a reality for all of us into the near future.

There cannot be a free market if the government controls business through regulation.
A truly free market would be governed only by supply/demand.
This is definitely not the case at all in our world.

Remember people, when you vote for your own self-interest, you're being "herded." But when your rights are stripped from you for "national security," while police and the military are elevated to become an unquestionable fourth branch of the government, you're experiencing "freedom."

Luckily your property rights aren't being denied in the real word, so you can relax

Exactly. It's the "You're being herded the wrong way! Be herded this way instead." argument that's been going on for years. Politicians are not your friends. We will never ever be the United Socialist States of America or the Imperial States of America. It's all just a distraction game while they (meaning all who desire power above all else) pick your pockets while you're shaking your fists, too busy to notice.
Really? You do realize that we do not "own property" here anymore, right? We rent it from the state and local governments. If you fail to make your annual "rent" payments(aka property taxes) they will seize your land/home.
