Does George Lucas know something we don't? you be the judge

www.montrealgazette.com...

Seth Rogen, a comedian and actor, said he was left speechless by a recent conversation in which George Lucas, the producer of Star Wars, Indiana Jones and other Hollywood hits, told him of his belief that the world would end in 2012.

Mentions of tectonic plates? or pole shift

"He's going on about the tectonic plates and all the time Spielberg is, like, rolling his eyes, like, 'My nerdy friend won't shut up, I'm sorry ...' Read more: www.montrealgazette.com...

This is getting interesting who knows maybe Lucas has inside information that we don't what do you say to this development.

George Lucas Denies Believing World Will End in 2012

Contrary to a claim made by Seth Rogen, George Lucas does not believe the world will be ending in 2012. Lucas claims he was simply joking with the actor.

Apparently he was just joking about this. I'll have a look for some more sources but I think this has now been debunked as a truthful claim made by Lucas.

EDIT: Here's more sources:

Wow, it only took you 5 minutes to find those links and post your message.

It took me 5 minutes just to proofread this.

Well as Rising pointed out, he was joking....

And even if he was serious, there is no reason to believe he has inside information.... At the very least he was joking and at the most, he bought into the conspiracy like several others....

But, again, he was joking anyway.

Maybe he really wasn't joking but they made him tell us he was only joking or else they wouldn't let him on the ark

Lucas believes it's going to happen (and already is). His PR (public relations) agent is just trying to save his image until the apocalypse (if it does happen) is more obvious to the public & thus doesn't make Lucas look like a fanatic.

No guy is "joking" when he talks about it 25 minutes straight in a very informed & serious manner during an interview. To claim it's "joking" is just a cover up.

Yeah, never mind the fact he himself said he was joking, people still believe he believes the world is ending in 2012.

Lucas himself did not say he was joking. His agent said he was joking (which is part of his job to maintain his image).

Lucas is too smart to foolishly make a comment like that on an interview for 25 minutes straight if he didn't take it serious. I'm certain he is aware stuff like that would spread like wildfire. So he was consciously making the choice to talk about it despite knowing the consequences--meaning he had to take it seriously to continue on about it for so long (unless he had a mental relapse and decided to try and ruin his image & career).

However, I don't care what Lucas's opinion on 2012 is (he's a man that lives in a fantasy world--I'm not sure how much weight his opinion has due to that). Too bad the interview isn't released tho (or is it?) cuz that would have been moderately interesting & perhaps he had some facts worth looking in to.

Dear Agent_USA_Supporter

I posted this thread a few days ago www.abovetopsecret.com...

My whole point being that there could well be a disaster in the prophesy of its own making.

All it takes a little nearer the time is there to be a big earth quake and a few more stories like this floating around and that my friends will be it.

That's a very fair point, but IMO if someone says something, then comes out and says they was just joking about it, we don't really have much reason to believe he was telling the truth anymore. After all It wasn't some random newspaper whom confirmed it to be a joke, It was the man himself.

“I spoke with George,” said Lucasfilm rep Lynne Hale in an e-mail to Wired.com about this issue of obvious intergalactic importance.

“He was not serious when he talked about the end of the world in 2012 but he is an adamant believer that the world is flat, that Stonehenge was built by aliens, and that the sun revolves around the Earth,” Hale said. “These are among the many subjects he commonly discusses at length with Elvis, who he’s going to digitally insert into Indy 5 along with a roster of famous dead actors.”
(Source)

Bear in mind I'm not saying you guys are wrong or anything, I'm just saying that if the guy himself is saying he was just joking, then he was probably just joking.

If a man talks 25 mins in a serious manner on an interview that he knows would spread like wildfire & then doesn't say "I'm just joking" at the end of the interview, then I would be a skeptic on him later saying "I was just joking". His choice of actions is not reasonable to an intelligent man like himself. It seems more likely that a PR agent got to him and informed him to change his mind about making his opinion known. This is the only explanation for why he did not claim it's a joke immediately after the interview--an interview which he was aware would spread around the world if he were to mention anything about 2012 (or, as I said above, he had a mental relapse & decided to suicide his trustworthiness or just hurt his image--which I don't think is the case).

It would not be the first time a star/celebrity made a comment just to retract it later due to their PR agent or informants (from what you quoted, it seems Lucas did not even make a direct comment. He had an agent talk for him....).

Like I said in earlier post, I personally don't mind what his opinion on 2012 is anyway. I rather listen to astronomers.

PS Seth Rogen is a fvcking worm & if he was the interviewer, then this whole story is contaminated.

George Lucas did not even make a comment himself. He had a rep do it for him.

So essentially this story is worth less than worthless.

let me put this into perspective for you.

I had a daytime premonition that lasted roughly 10 seconds, where i was looking out my front door and i could clearly see a mountain of earth rolling like a massive tidal wave, and i turned to both my children in this premonition and exclaimed, there is nowhere to run, as the wave closed over us.

unfortunately my premonitions come true........FACT

there is nowhere to run, unless you have a blimp?
