Probably another planet seen somewhere else similar to earth Whoopee, big deal. Unless we develop light speed or faster drive, its immaterial other than potential knowledge of similar type planets out there. Unless it affect us directly, like a nice UFO disclosure, its interesting but...eh. Neat. Whatever. Next?

I fully expect this "announcement" to be incredibly mundane and boring the likes of which....we have totally seen before...

These things are always over blown here, and then the announcement comes and people who said "its not anything, its always nothing, or else they wouldnt be teleconfrencing it on nasa's website, they would hold a large scale media day, or the president would announce it" say "see I told you so"

and then 5 people who are all guiddy about space stuff like a black hole 109340141880 billion miles away get all excited and petered out, pass out, and think they are abducted by aliens.

This is the cycle of these announcements.

Probably going to discuss the BGB ( short for "Big Green Blob") they found recently. I would wish for more but I doubt it.

Perhaps that planet Nibiru will be becoming visible to the naked eye? Or that a large asteroide is on it's way to earth and will be visible to the naked eye, which means the world will finally know the reason why the G8 nations were floating the US dollar and allowed to print trillions of paper dollar money that had no value behind it, so the elite have decided to let us implode our own existence how we see fit before the rock hits?

or yes, that green blob they said had a head, arms, eyes, and a mouth...?

Most likely just some information on how certain events happed in the past.....They mentioned on the NASA site being able to see further back in time, so lets not jump to conclusions like last time shall we.

I know *for sure* what it is, not a theory. Should I post what it is or just keep the suspense?

I bet they just found the smallest thread on ATS. It's a oneliner coming in hot.

These kind of pre-announcement announcements are about as useful (and effective) as your local news commercials that say "Could you have a killer in your home? Tune in at 11 to find out." And it usually ends up being some stupid piece about cholesterol or OTC drugs. But they get you to tune in!

Oh, that's really interesting, it sounds like they have done the "Deep Field" again and found something farther back in time / distant than ever before, maybe it's a really old quasar or something that Redshift's back to the beginning of time, like 14 billion years!

Exciting!

Ok here's goes the discovered, from an insider:

They found a Borg!! But it's too far away for us to really care.

For the record, I'm making this prediction on Jan 23rd. After the anouncement, I'll post back here.
