Keith Olbermann gives abrupt goodbye to MSNBC show

NEW YORK – Keith Olbermann, MSNBC's most successful and controversial personality for his outspoken liberal prime-time program, gave an abrupt goodbye to viewers and said Friday was his last show.

It was not immediately known if he quit or was fired. Olbermann did not address the question, and MSNBC said only that they and Olbermann had ended their contract. He signed a four-year contract two years ago.

Not only is he done with countdown, he is done with MSNBC as well. Since the departure of the MSNBC head when they were bought out, the speculation is Olberman lost his "protection" so to speak.

The Corporate climate of their new owners is completely different than before, which was destined to create problems after the acquisition was complete. His last show was tonight, and aparently the departure was abrupt. Details are still being brought to light. MSNBC has no coverage of this, and CNN is currently talking about it on their channel as breaking news.
