DISCLAIMER: I really didn't wanted to put this thread, because as some people knows, I'm sort-of-a-fan of this band (Take That). I've waited some time to see if someone write about this thread in particular to comment but since that didn't happened, yeah, I've used the search function, I'm giving this a try.
I was originally posting this at the Music forum but since it's not that visited I changed my mind and decided to post it here. If it's not correct, my mistake, please move it to the music forum, it will be ok.

I'm going to be the most partial possible because I think this is an important ATS related material, and I'm not going to spoil it with teenager behaviour.
And sorry if sometimes i sound a little repetitive in the words I use, I need to learn more english vocabulaire... badly.
-----

Ok, let's start.

I got my copy of Take That's new album, Progress. Pretty good and weird IMHO, the music was not the usual of the band and the lyrics were more than weird and more than in the "ATS" side than in the "common pop" side. I took it as natural taking in count that Robbie Williams was back on the band and we all know he's (or was) a contributor of this site.
The first song that catched my eye was "S.O.S", and my first though was "why so ATS?!". I didn't had the lyrics at first (I can't lie, I got it first on the internet because it was released just when the "x'mass craze" started and I was unable to import it from UK till January... and surprise, it was released here some weeks ago so I bought it from a local music store) The lyrics weren't released for a couple of days, however, my english is not that bad and there was something odd at this one, too much words I've learnt from... this site it creeped me a little.

I'm going to copy/paste the lyrics so you all can understand (even the ones who haven't listened to the song)

Save our souls we're splitting atoms
Go tell Eve and go tell Adam
Liberate your sons and daughters
Some are gods and some are monsters

We'll get a five minute warning for divine intervention
With the satellites falling prepare for ascension
Under mind control
We'll be practising our politics
Defending all our policies
Preparing for apocalypse

Don't let the hungry serpent see you no
No, no, no, no, no
She'll let you fall asleep then eat you whole
It's like a bullet to the head
It's an SOS, it's an SOS, oh yes, oh yes, it's an SOS
It's an SOS, it's an SOS, like a bullet in the head, it's an SOS

When the levee breakes
And Manhattan sinks
There won't be water fit to drink
When the winter's warm
And the summer's cold
The poison stops you looking old

You'll get a five second warning for divine intervention
And the satellites are falling prepare for ascension
As the earth looks on
The odds or probability
Of losing all capacity
To function it's hereditary

No antibiotic can save us now
No, no, no, no, no
We are the virus that we talk about
It's like a bullet to the head
It's an SOS, it's an SOS, oh yes, oh yes, it's an SOS
It's an SOS, it's an SOS, like a bullet in the head, it's an SOS
It's an SOS it's an SOS, oh yes, oh yes, it's an SOS
It's an SOS, it's an SOS, like a bullet in the head, it's an SOS
Like a bullet in my head...

Like a bullet in my head
It's an SOS, it's an SOS, oh yes, oh yes, it's an SOS
It's an SOS, it's an SOS, like a bullet in the head, it's an SOS
It's an SOS it's an SOS, oh yes, oh yes, it's an SOS
It's an SOS, it's an SOS, like a bullet in the head, it's an SOS

So. What we have here. A pop song from a very mainstream band talking about apocalypse, satellites falling, ascension and global warming just to name a few. In one of the top seller albums of last year, from one of the most famous bands in the UK right now. Pretty nice way to spread a message IMHO, but still just maybe another "song of the album" and nothing else...

I readed somewhere that this song was going to be the second single of the album and the ATSer inside me went crazy. The message was going to be more than well spreaded, since the singles are played all the time at the radios (even here in Chile). A worldwide message of this caliber being spreaded like a virus through the radios of almost all the world... sounded even nicer for me. I was praying for this one to be the second single.

TT went to Royal Variety Show and played this jewel! Impressive show if you ask me, and was almost confirming it as the second single for the fans and some more people. I was kinda happy.

Some time later, they've confirmed as second single (i'm sorry if it's not confirmed-confirmed because I have been without internet connection for a while) another song, also "ATS alike" but not that strong as S.O.S, "Kidz".

There are the lyrics

Kings and Queens and Presidents
Ministers of Governments
Welcome to the future of your world
Through talking heads that took liberties
The monkeys learnt to build machines
They think they'll get to heaven through the universe

They say nothing
Deny everything
And make counter accusations
My friends, my dear, my love, my God
There'll be trouble when the kidz come out (come out)
There will be lots for them to talk about (about)
There'll be trouble when the kidz come out
When the kidz come out, when the kidz come out
When the kidz come out Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
What you looking at Hey, hey, hey, hey
You want a bit of that Hey, hey, hey, hey
There will be trouble when the kidz come out
When the kidz come out Hey
Mirror, mirror on the wall
Who's the fairest of them all?
The Good, the Bad, the Ugly or the Beautiful
Because it's up hill and against the wind
With no-one there to let us in
Leave your thoughts and save yourself you fool

The daggers of science
Evolving into violence
We're not sure where the fallout blows
But we all know

There'll be trouble when the kidz come out (come out)
There will be lots for them to talk about (about)
There'll be trouble when the kidz come out
When the kidz come out, when the kidz come out
When the kidz come out Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
What you looking at Hey, hey, hey, hey
You want a bit of that Hey, hey, hey, hey
There will be trouble when the kidz come out
When the kidz come out Hey

Out on the streets tonight
They're making peace tonight
They're making peace La, la, la, la...

There'll be trouble when the kidz come out
There will be lots for them to talk about
There'll be trouble when the kidz come out
When the kidz come out, when the kidz come out
There'll be trouble when the kidz come out

I like this one too, in order it's my second favourite of the album, but still... what made them to change the song? Just... people's choice? their choice? or, to be more "on topic"... was there some pressure to keep the first song just as "another song of..." because it's too heavy in conspiracy material to be worldwide published?

Kidz can sound more like a political protest song (most of the people just pay atention to the first verse of the songs) for everyone and the conspirational pieces can pass just as subliminal or just as "pop nonsense". It's not like a Muse song because Muse is more rock than pop and this topics are not THAT weird on that kind of music (taking Muse as an example, we have a bunch of good alien/conspirative rock songs), however in pop music this topics aren't usual.

So that's the question. Both songs are great but I still don't understand why they've changed their minds so suddenly. Here's a video of the performance of the first song at the Royal Variety Show. The audio and video is out of sync but this video is from an official source... (there's some unnoficials but since I'm a cynical person
, I'm linking just oficial material)

What do you all think about? I'm a bit dissapointed in my ATS side, and clued because I'd love to know the real reason for not choosing S.O.S as the second single of the album... It would be a great contribution for the masses, really.
(Don't worry, the fangirl inside me is fine with wichever song they've choose because she's a fangirl :lol

P.s.: I toy a lot with the fangirl thing. Truth is I'm not a fangirl. I've wrote something about that on my comment section, if you want to read, then go there for more explanations
if not... it's all right too!

lol. I've never heard of them, but thanks for the video. Not bad.
It seems to me that more and more lyrics from all different bands are covering this sort of topic.

Tell us more about this.

About the SOS song, this is a rather important predictive programming piece connecting Project Blue Beam with Operation Blackjack. Blue Beam is the fake rapture, fake UFO's, fake messiah conspiracy. Operation Blackjack (12-21-12) is the UK telegraph "fiction" piece about multiple cities getting nuked.

Both Operation Blackjack and the song SOS are specifically referring to Revelations 18:

# And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
# And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
# For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
# And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
# For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
# Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.
# How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.

# Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong [is] the Lord God who judgeth her.
# And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,
# Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

# And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more: # The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
# And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.
# And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.
# The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,
# And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls! # For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,
# And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What [city is] like unto this great city!
# And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.
# Rejoice over her, [thou] heaven, and [ye] holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.

# And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast [it] into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

thanks for the contribution, by night I'm going to read it more deeply and post the info you've requested.
This couple of songs are really weird IMHO and there's a lot of analysis that can be done still. I'm going to elaborate something else by night too.
