I am not, nor have I ever been an appologist for any religion. I was pointing out that in addition to Islam, Christianity had some pretty stupid ass ideas as well that could result in death. The difference being Christians understand its not the 9th century anymore, and killing a person for wearing 2 different fabrics is insane in todays time.

Islam has not caught on to that fact, and still act like its the 9th century.

Please read my posts and understand them before accusing me of being an appologist.

While you do not seem to be an apologist for islam, there are certainly many of them here.

Christianity should never have been an excuse to kill anyone. Jesus specifically made a point of that. On a practical note, how can people come to the lord if they are killed? I recognize that I am un-Christian in my views of supporting the death penalty for certain people, most notably pedophiles. I am also not good at "turning the other cheek". I find that turning the other cheek to an enemy just gives him another chance to strike you.

Your argument makes more sense than what you think. You have brought up the major flaw in all religions when it comes to putting people to death for violating "sacred text". People have no issues explaining why someone should be put to death, but thgey cannot answer how it does not violate their own religion.

I was raised Catholic, and I do beleive in God, but I dont agree with the way Catholosim operates. I find it insane that ancient documents that pretty much make women second class citizens is a joke, and further more an affront since it contradicts itself in terms of how people should be treated.

The extent of my religious beliefs is I beleive in God / Higher power. Everytihng else in my opinion is subject to mistranslations / lies what have you. Religion has been at the source of almost every single war in human history.

So much for something that was intended to bind people together. My argument twaords organized religion is you believe what you want, but all religions, and people have the exact same fate - We die.

Since we dont know what happens after that, who cares how another person worships.

I am so sorry this woman in Somalia was killed. But let's be wise enough to realize it was the individuals, not the religion which they directly denying. Many can "claim" they are of a religion and working for a certain God, but there actions tell the true story.

Sorry, apologize for them all you like, but this was a group not an individual. This group has instituted sharia law in the area they control, and they proclaim themselves to be islamic jihadists.

You're wasting your time, of course. These people have no rationally-based anger towards Muslims. They're just grasping at justifications, and the "they're not speaking out enough" is easy, 'cause the US media never reports it when they do. However, providing such a list just gets ignored, or you get told "it doesn't count" or some such.

I'm frankly respect the bigots more if they just fessed up to hating Islam and Muslims because they enjoy hating people. Honesty wins more points, is all.
