The Israeli city of Tel Aviv has been hit by an explosion. It has happened during the morning rush hour. Unusually, Tel Aviv's police chief Yossi Sedbon has said that is wasn't caued by a suicide bomber, but a device. At least one person has been killed and 14 injured.

The blast happened next to a bus stop near the old central bus station at about 0700 local time (0400GMT), during the morning rush hour.

Tel Aviv's police chief Yossi Sedbon said it had been caused by a "device" and was not a suicide bombing.

The militant Palestinian group, al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, has reportedly said it carried out the attack.

This blast comes just two days after the World Court ruled Israel's West Bank barrier illegal. It was the first incident of its kind in Israel for nearly four months. Will the Israelis use this to justify the illegal barrier? We may find out in the coming weeks and months.

Apparantly, Yasir Arafat has now hinted that the bomb was planted by Israel.

Palestinian leader Yasir Arafat has condemned Sunday's deadly bomb attack in Tel Aviv but suggested that it was an act of provocation carried out by the Israelis.

"You know who is behind these acts," he told reporters on Sunday at his West Bank offices. "Europe knows it, the Americans know it, the Israelis know it."

It may sound crazy and maybe it is Aljazeera but remember that ATS is a site about conspiracies. I think it sounds quite plausible if you think about it.

I this case I don't know.

However, Israel was caught in past trying to hoax terrorism to get public support for their cause.

The israel's have found new lows to sink to. But then again what Palestinian listens to Arafat. That's like saying the Chechens listen to Putin. Arafat has no control over the suicide bombers. Palestinians who put themselves into harms way do so by their own choosing. The Palestine-israel war is fueled by revenge. It's not going to end anytime soon.

Michael Moore put the statement out directly on F 9/11. "The war is over, only if you want it to."

Fatah's military wing, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade, claimed responsibility for the TA terrorist act.

And, of course you know who is behind these acts:

On June 20, Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmad Qurei said in an interview with the London-based Asharq al-Awsat newspaper.

"We have clearly declared that the Aksa Martyrs Brigades are part of Fatah... We are committed to them and Fatah bears full responsibility for the group."

Fatah committed to Aksa Martyrs

And the Palestinian Authority has no plans to dismantle the Aksa Martyrs Brigades.

So, if someone reputable like Arafat "suggests" something, it is fact?

I think these two guys are birds of a feather; they just have different ambitions (I am at least assuming that their ambitions are different).

What does this site purport to "deny"? Basing a conclusion on unsubstantiated suggestions from extremely biased suggestors would by definition be "ignorance".

When one of my daughters was about 2 years old, my wife and I were sitting out behind our house. We happened to be sitting near our heater's propane gas tank which also happened to have a yellow jacket nest in it. Just by coincidence at the same time a large plane was flying overhead, the bees decided they had had enough of our sitting so close to their nest and started to swarm out at us.

In a hasty panic we grabbed the baby and our lawn chairs and scrambled into the house swatting at the bees as they tried to sting us. It was several years later that we finally convinced our young daughter that planes flying low overhead were not reason to scream and run into the house.

She based her fear on the unsubstantiated reasoning that it was the plane flying overhead that had scared us back into the house. In her mind, a plane was flying overhead, which was true and we were even pointing it out to her and talking about it. Moments later we were jumping around in a panic and running into the house. She drew the clear, though incorrect conclusion that the plane was something to be afraid of.

Try not to base subsequent conclusions on unsubstantiated facts.

My daughter is now 18 and is no longer afraid of planes flying overhead.
