That part of the region for some reason seems to have the hardest and most devastating earthquakes. The buildings seriously just seem to crumble.

So an hour has passed and silence.

That makes me a bit nervous.

Live News Feed (not in English)

I am defaulted to SAMAA.TV when I go to the site. I tried to click the different channels and the broadcast was unavailable.

The link talks about A big building (Flats) with no deaths, in the interview he is saying that no one wants to go inside the Building because they are scared to. Still early I guess. Can only pray for them.

You don't need to speak the language to see that
The people walking around, you can see it in their expressions, like.. "Nah man I'm good out here for a little bit, I got a blanket, I'm cool!"

Almost an 1.5 after and still no after-shocks. Or anything anywhere for that matter. Makes me concerned that it could be a fore-shock. Hopefully some after-shocks will start soon. However, USGS only shows 5.5 and above for that part of the world. Anyone have a link that'll show smaller ones?

Here is a nother source that lists smaller quakes. Only two small ones in greece....not showing any fore or after shocks. Making me nervous!

wow just wow. seriously... its a deeper quake, but there is going to be damage for sure. I can't find any information yet either. I don't think we should freak out. This area gets quakes often and it might not be as bad as we think. It is still a major one. A lot of 7.0's and above. Did anyone see the P waves coming?

Making me nervous!

Pardon my ignorance, but is there a reason this makes you nervous? Is this a well known prelude to something? I could research it but I was hoping more for your view.

Not for my personal safety, obviously (im in the US) but for the people in that region. So far, I have been unable to find ANY fore-shocks and there are STILL no after shocks.

Normally, with a quake of this magnetude there will be some sort of build-up and then after shocks. Typically, the longer you go without any after-shocks, the bigger the implication that you might actually be looking at a fore-shock to something bigger.

My fear is that there could still be something BIGGER coming...but most likely not. (hoping)

Looking at this News Footage, there doesn't appear to be any structural damage to speak of. Although it is night there, so I am sure any damage will make itself known after the sun rises.

What I do see a great deal of is very anxious looking people, as would be expected.

Interesting, well if this is the case, then the casualties should be very minimal (time dependent), according to this footage no one is inside right now. If this was a fore shock, then let's hope whatever is coming, does so before people get that "safe to go in" feeling.

Looking at the tv reports and pictures, The building that they are showing on tv is in Karachi... (called my uncle and he said, all is well in Karachi and no sever damage) Far from it! We will know more later as the cameras scramble nearer the epicenter. A pray goes out for all there.

My worry is that.... still no after shocks..... ???
