Need to show ID to pay with CA$H ??

I wonder what they would have done with your I.D. and the $50...Would they jot your I.D. number on the bill, in order to be able to track you down should it prove to be a fake? Would they photo-copy it? Enter the number into a database with the serial number of the $50??

I don't see how simply asking to see your ID protects them unless they DO something with it to tie your name to that money.
