People that poo in their own nest tend to cover it up rather than admitting they poo'ed and cleaning it up. Add that to the Americans who are completely oblivious.. by choice.. and I believe the American people will take everything thrown at them as long as they can pretend they are free and have a few petty material things. The American people are conditioned and controlled.. there is no real freedom here anymore yet they keep squaking about how free we are and a beacon to the world! We are so cool.. we spread " democracy" to these other primitive peoples. You know, the ones who have had working societies thousands of years before "the USA" was even a concept.

We CHOOSE to believe in things that are fantasies and things here will NEVER change. We have become perfect cattle. We NEED handlers now as a society. Just one small example of the true state of things: It was so glaringly evident with the banking "crisis" that I can not believe more people didnt really see it. We should have let the banks fail and suffered some pain.. then rebuilt. We'd prefer to prolong the pain and sickness than face the cure as a society. We allow things to be engineered in ways to subjugate us.. and go along with it. Very weak.. and it isnt changing anytime soon. If a "terrorist nation" nuked us our crazy citizens would stand there with their hands out like cattle and swallow whatever explanation the govt gives... as long as they can still reach Washingtons teat.

We are a broken people.. to OP... I believe we will take and swallow and ask for more regardless of what is thrown at us. There will be no revolution. There will be no revival of the Republic. Americans dont have the stomach for it.

As I'm a sleep and need to be woke up, please explain to me how I pretend to be free? What is this real freedom you speak of? I come and go as I please all over this world. I also do as I please every day, so please explain to me how I'm being controlled and not free.

Also, please explain these fantasies we believe in.

I agree the banks should have been punished in some way. How, I don't know.

Here is a solution
Heavily tax corporations profits, Slap on tariffs also so that anything coming in overseas is almost prohibitively expensive,

This will make corporations not go overseas for cheap labor and lax tax laws considering they pretty much won't be able to sell to America anymore.
...
Nice and easy answer that if a politicians suggests it, will get him crusified by everyone (public included)...because we are scared of trying something different.

The government is -not- to blame..the government is the people, and the people are brainwashed into a 1830s view of economics.

This is a great concept and shows forward thinking. Your absolutely right lots of blame and finger pointing going around but not much action.

Let's face it. A good majority of americans have almost nothing saved for their future and the pension outlook is dire. People are living the moment and putting little thought into their retirement. As a result they want things now not later. I know people who can barely rub 2 nickels together but boy you better believe they are standing in line waiting for the new iphone. Priorities.

I have to say your 100% correct. I bet the USA is in for a big shock in next few months if not sooner. I been watching everything going on and it seams to me that the USA's infostructure is being moved over seas cause we are going to have another 9/11 the BP thing is another 9/11 and now a major blow to good old USA. Nothing lost here but a few million lives. We dropped the A Bomb during World War 2. Ok to the point. I thought the radiation of a Atomic Bomb, live couldn't live there for thousands of years the 2 cities were rebuilt something strange is going on. Did we have Alien Technology that would clean the radiation mess up or what?

What would you have the average American do? I have tried voting only to find that the people I thought I elected turned out to be the same as those I voted against, regardless of party.

I have tried writing letters, signing petitions. Are you suggesting protests? Who will stand? The risks are high. We cannot agree on anything as it is, and if we do not have any solutions, how can we ask for anything to change?

Solutions involving the rich...you can forget that. They have every reason not to change and the power to back that up. Realism is needed. F&S for this post, but I am not sure what your expectations are with posting it.

I happen to think that this can be successfully achieved, peacefully, by the changing of minds, over time.

For capitalism to work there has to be accountability. Without accountability it just becomes theft. Politicians these days do not even get a chance to read, let alone understand the bills that are passed. The politicians just get bribes and no accountability there either. The Fed and wall street has been fighting against accountability, because they are thieves and they know it, not capitalists who want the power of money to work as it should.

Most likely "all the way", as we are too tired, too busy, too distraught, too sidetracked, too confused, too sucked into the belief that the govt is out for our benefit, too sucked into the belief that the corporate world is a beneficial world... too.... (fill in the blank).... to do anything else.

Harm None
Peace

The American people will take it and take it until the NWO steps in and takes over. The common American will sit around watching TV, imitating a hypnotized monkey, until the Storm Troopers come and force them into the FEMA concentration camps. And the few that try to fight back will be gunned down, with no emotion, by the very armed forces that were called up to protect them, to provide a lesson to not fight back. And when it finally dawns on those still alive, as they are forced through a working slave indoctrination, they should have listened and rose up when they could, it will be too late. And with a sad realization they will sucummb to the fact that they brought it all on themselves. So say goodbye to your women as they are sent to another part of the world to join some ultra-wealthy bank owner's slave harem and your sons are sent to mine for precious metals for the rest of their forshortened lives. And you are left to be killed in the rebuilt NAZI gas chambers because you're old and worthless. I can only hope that in 2012 ETs come to save us, for I fear that all of us are standing on the brink.

There is a third choice over fascism and socialism and that is Libertarianism and we are even on the ballot in 35 states and are the 3rd largest Party in America...........though you would never hear it on the news. We would drop the drug laws, Renforce the freedom of speach and bear arms, Cut taxes dramatically, bring our troops home from the two wars, etc, etc

I feel ya, Iamschist. I'm fed up, but I don't know what to do anymore. Lots of bodies (minds) have to pull together, and that's just not happening. Learning and acting is just not important enough to the average citizen.

Cut taxes dramatically,

Programmed corporatist response.

Cutting taxes (corporate profit tax) = corporations not investing money but rather cashing out to make billionares. cutting taxes is a incentive to stop growth...having a heavy tax on profits for corporations will make them decide to keep spending the money on expansion, R&D, etc...of course, the shareholders want taxes cut or completely eliminated so they can become billionares faster.

Which side does this "libertarianism" fight for...There is an actual science behind all this that goes against most talking points (bought and paid for by giant jacktards)

Libertarianism is just another right wing corporate move with a different coat of paint. I like Libertarians a bit more than neocons though, as libertarians are social liberals that want to keep out of moral guidance for the most part...however, that is slowly changing to start including things like no gay marriage decisions and whatnot into their umbrella.

hardly

There is over 150 taxes on a loaf of bread that make up over half the cost and that is pretty much the same for everything. If everything had the taxes removed and we moved more toward tarriffs that would drastically lower prices and level the playing field. Most folks could get by pretty well at their current wage or even less if they only had to pay half of what they do now.

I would have to see where you found the party against gay marrige I have been a libertarian for about 30 years and didnt know that.

I am so happy you made this thread.
I am also sickened that foreighn countries slave so hard, just so the majority can take it,like they deserve it.
And i think a good thing to do in this thread is list something that you are not willing to tolerate about america.

So,my one issue is child support,i am not willing to put up with this bs,i was thrown in jail while i had a job, just because they could not take a sattisfactory amount out of my check. keep in mind, while i was working this job,i was also joining the military. They threw a future warrior of their own country in jail,no tell me again why i should fight for that. If they locked up all the warriors for not even breaking a law or hurting anyone as fast as they did me,our country would be invaded mighty fast. Then those women demanding child support, might rethink thier view on what a mans duty is,because then it would be thier full time job to put out,to forieghn invaders.

United States Citizens WILL continue to take it until more of the majority loose employment, or accept under employment, majority begin to be hungry and the majority are homeless or at risk of homelessness

Its as simple as that!

You are no where near alone on this or at least I would hope not. I keep waiting for the day that the American people take the power back from the government

It sure seems the majority are waiting for this!

And THAT IS the PROBLEM!

WAITING and EXPECTING OTHERS to do THE WALK on behalf OF THEM

The average American is either ignorant or blind to whats going on.

They are neither

The French roit over such things as the retirement age being pushed back but we Americans keep bending over and taking it while the elite laugh all the way to the bank.

You arent bending over, its YOUR culture! Its how you've been TRAINED!

The attitude in the US when it comes to other European countries protesting is
HOW UNCIVILISED, they are mocked, belittled etc by the US!

Protesting how the Europeans do is discouraged in the US

Political Dissent how the Europeans do is discouraged in the US

THE US for some reason, doesnt quite understand setting up a march here and there will NOT achieve the desired results

YOU guys dont have it in YOU to stand up and make a stand more than ONE day which is organised here and there
