I have seen this symbol on many buildings in my city (san antonio, tx), usually on buildings which used to be used for big companies/corporations. The symbol is on really nice and large buildings, too - nothing small or unimpressive. Sometimes there is a sign with a company name on the building, but usually it's just this symbol, in red, mounted to the building. Can anybody identify this symbol and elaborate on its origins/uses/meanings?

I can't remember if there is a snake head and tail at each end of the S shape, but I'm pretty sure there was. It might be a head on each end instead of a head on one and a tail on the other. Or there might not be any snake heads. Also, the line is vertical and not at an angle. I drew it with an angle because I have seen that symbol in certain occult writings which unfortunately were not memorable enough for me to recall. Thanks in advance for any input

It looks like a weird version of the Snake eating it's tail symbol called the Ouroboros.

The Ouroboros, in one respect, is an infinity symbol. The Infinity Symbol most of society is familiar with looks like an hourglass or number 8 laid on it's side.

The symbol you present looks like an amalgamation of both symbols, both of which mean infinity.

Edit to add: the line splits the infinity, so it could possibly suggest "Split Infinity"

I would say that it is a combination of the San Antonio Spurs and San Antonio Dragons at first guess, but that doesn't match either of their logos. Interesting.

Looks a bit like my current avatar.

My avatar is based on a simpler symbol which looks a lot like the rune "Jera" only with a line going through it...kind of lilke mix between the Elder and Anglo forms.

Your symbol there looks similar, just rotated.

Look, now you people are simply creeping me out! Just last night, I took the notion to find the value (if any) of some old porcelain figurines that my mom had given me, that her sister had sent her back in the 50's or 60's when the sister was living overseas. On one, the only identifying marks on the bottom of it are: "Austria" and that strange S with a diagonal line thru it. It is very small, so I will get a magnifying glass and see if there is a snake head/tail, since the ends of the S are slightly 'fatter' than the rest of the S.

(I just remember that, because other items had a company name on the bottom, or at least a logo that was recognizable (like Hummel.) This one was a puzzle, and I could not find info on it --because I had no reliable search terms, due to the lack of info on the bottom.

Oh, it does have the number 64 stamped on it too. I assume that is a production number (like number 64 out of 1000 made, or some such.)

So yeah, I'm eager to know what comes of this thread too!

Me too. my use of the symbol comes from a waking vision I had almost 20 years ago.. I grabbed a marker and drew out this symbol (although rotated 90 degrees). It took me years to figure out that it matched a rune. Still not sure what it means for me, but I use it as my signet from time to time.

I agree. Not unusual to place a cattle brand on to other assets owned, like buildings, etc.

I suspect it might be the logo for Cotter and sons in San Antonio:

Similar question about logo on buildings in San Antonio

I searched for Cotter and Sons and I found the following:

Cotter & Sons
1802 NE Loop 410, Ste 111, San Antonio, TX 78217
www.cotterandsons.com...
(210) 822-2001

The url doesn't seem to work. I searched for their logo on Google but found nothing.

A pic of the logo would really be helpful.

Hi, Well it looks like some people in San Antonio were questioning the same thing back in 2009... there is a photo of the logo in this link about halfway down the page.

Initially I thought it was a livestock brand or ranch symbol but i haven't been able to come up with anything so far that matches it.

No, the Ouroboros is NOT a symbol of infinity. It's a symbol of perpetuity, or indefinitely long duration.

Is there any way you can post the address or coordinates of one of these buildings , so that we might look at it through street-view ?

Not exact , but similar to the logo of this company :

www.genxmediagroup.com...

which I found through a search of occult symbols in corporate logos . Looking at it from an occult perspective , it might be construed as a symbol denoting Saturn-worship .

Dr. Love , has a thread discussing Saturn-worship symbology found here :
