Greetings everyone! I am new to ATS, so I apologize if I am committing a big faux paus, but I've read various threads where people outright say they've be approached, were involved in various rituals, or (in some cases) outright hint or accuse others of being Illuminati.

So that has made me incredibly curious. Who on ATS is Illuminati? Or who do you SUSPECT of being Illuminati and why?

i'll say you are INCREDIBLY curious!!

40 or so posts on several threads, some within 1 minute of each other and started 1 thread all in about 2 1/2 hours !!!

and only joined ATS today sometime !!!

wow, what have you learned so far.

you are very incredible!

are you an author writing a new book?

if you are interested in facts, please take a look at this link. The book is amazing. The author is a member of this site. If you want fantasy, ignore it and search the ATS archive and you will find more than can be read in a lifetime. Good luck.

Incredible! And yes! I *am* interested in the truth! The hard part is understanding what the truth really is.

Welcome to ATS. Want some fun? Put on a pot of coffee and click on the "Forums" tab - there you will find all the wonderous topics to obcess yourself with for a year, including Paranormal. Curious about a specific topic? Put it in the search bar and see what pops up! There's a lot of hidden treasures in the ATS mines.

As for Illuminati fun, do you know why Friday the 13th is supposed bad luck? It's only bad luck if you're a Knights Templar, forefathers of the Illuminati, this is the day they were all arrested.

Enjoy your time at ATS and remember to take some breaks - it become overwhelming at times. If I may, I'd love to suggest a book for you as well - Jim Marrs "Rule by Secrecy." Well respected author and even has his own forum on ATS. Time for more coffee! =)

Thanks for the welcome! I went on a posting spree last night across a bunch of forums. I think I could have stayed up all night posting!
I didn't see the Paranormal forum but I will certainly go looking for it again!

Really? Friday the 13th is because of the Illuminati? Wow! I had no idea! How is it that this hole side of history has been untold to the public? I guess its time I switched off the American Idol and turned on some history channel!

In my opinion, and I'm biased, the BEST Illuminati thread on ATS was "Shards of the Illuminati" by Maban a few years ago.

Try a search in the Secret Societies forum. The thread is a couple years old and even if you treat it as fiction it is a fascinating read.

I would also agree with this link. Terry Melanson is probably the most objective and well-informed Illuminati author around.

I've been researching bloodlines, mind control, and new age enlightenment all day long. I think my brain is set to explode!! How do you incorporate all of this information and not end up barracaded in your basement every day?

Oh yeah! And so far, I've only encountered 3 people on ATS who may actually be involved in the past or present with the Illuminati. Anyone else?

Haha! Welcome to ATS. We'll see you in six months!

Seriously, though, this is a topic that has probably generated more misinformation and confusion than any other.

In a nutshell:

- The "Illuminati" originally were the Bavarian Illuminati founded by Weishaupt and Knigge. This group faded out or went underground and is most likely no longer around. (Terry Melanson is a great reference for this).

- There are several make-believe groups calling themselves 'illuminati' such as the Illuminati Order, etc. who basically set up web sites and distribute public-domain rehashed esoteric literature that either promotes humanism or libertarianist ideals.

- Finally (and most intriguing) there are those who would say the Illuminati have continued into the modern world and splintered into two groups. One group seeks to gain power over the population through greed, corporations and political manipulation. The other seeks to abolish government, cure disease and poverty, and pretty much guide humanity to some sort of universal Utopia through pure democracy.

It's a lot to wrap your head around, but it makes for a good novel.

Illuminati spot the Illuminatus. The Illuminatus may not always see the Illuminati though. They read the threads but hardly ever feel compelled to post. I hear they get bored easy with our mundane conversations.

My husband rented "Angels and Demons" this weekend. I had never heard of them before. Now I'm fascinated. I've spent the past week researching it. Amazing... That's how I found ATS today.

The original Illiminati were the Bavarian Illuminiti which was founded around the 1700's.

History will say that they were killed off and any freemason will tell you they strictly do not exist.

The rest, is all on your own but one thing is for sure, if there was an illuminatus on the ATS boards, they sure as hell would not tell you that they were, thats your cue for bullspeak if you ever have someone tell you they are.

The Illuminati are ALL about MISDIRECTION and MISINFORMATION, so your comments about the original Illuminati is what is broadcasted to the sheeple, such as yourself, when in fact, the Illuminati have been around since the beginning of our time on this planet and they were once known as the Knights Templar.

As to the OP's question of whether they exist on this forum, Yes they dew! They are everywhere so anywhere you go, they are there.

The Knights Templar are the Illuminati and the Illuminati are the Knights Templar.

The story about them being massacred was concocted to mislead you, which is the Illuminati way (misinformation/misdirection).
