Something that you are an expert at.

Well, to be fair, you can only do ONE aspect of modular arithmetic with it. Otherwise I really can't see what other "functions of math" you can do with it.

Can you prove it's really not what buddhasystem says it is? Maybe whoever made that quote should show a few of these functions of math it can do. I can claim the moon is made of cheese, but that doesn't make it true.

I certainly cannot prove anything is not what buddhasystem says it is.

You don't know who made the quote? Are you following the thread? Are you going to watch both sets of videos with the purpose of getting answers to questions for yourself? And then evaluating for yourself?

This kind of statement adds nothing to the thread. Talk like this gets old in a hurry.

It's amazing, and very sad, that stuff like that ever gets near Ted. They have a reputation for educational material, not crackpottery.

Once again, it's a pile of outlandish empty claims, with nothing whatsoever to back them up. Very exciting for credulous people who ask no questions. Just plain depressing for people who thought Ted wouldn't stoop to this.

From my own experiences with mathematics, I can say, regardless of who said it, with absolute certainty, that that claim is complete BS. For example, I dare you to reproduce combinatorics with it Or analysis. Or differential equations. Or basically anything more than the extremely limited aspects of modular arithmetic, and maybe neat looking geometric figures.

Go ahead be confrontational if that floats your boat.

I'm not a math expert.

I have learned by participating on this thread that casting out nines is an established principle for checking arithmetic.

Maybe it is also is the basis for simplifying math and also a basis for technology. I don't know.

I will continue to view Powell's videos. I think they're well done.

So if I'm not gushing with praise for the complete nonsense that anyone who actually knows math can see, I'm confrontational? I agree with buddhasystem. It's just verbal garbage. I would dare him to reproduce anything apart from those two things. He will quickly see how silly it was for him to make that claim. All functions in all branches of mathematics indeed.

Your tone is what is confrontational; not asking questions or disagreeing.

Fine. It's crap.

Have you watched all the videos? I suspect you've watched perhaps part of one of them?

I'll watch, but I'm fairly certain I'll feel stupider afterwards. Considering the gem of the quote attributed to Powell.

I'm on part 7 of the Intro series right now. Then I'll go on to the Advanced series. I'm going to try to put into my own words anything that he says about various functions of math, and I will post them.

There's no content. None at all. Just sparkly things to make credulous people's eyes widen.

A child could see through this.

As ever, I'll invite anyone to point to a single piece of content that has any specific relevance to anything at all in the real world.

The mantra that is never answered.

Looks like this guy does a better job than Rodin explaining so I'll keep watching to see what he says about sound and light waves. But I can already see a glaring error. You cannot find roots, do trigonometry, or even exponentiate with natural base by any of the four traditional operations. So it pretty much discounts a LARGE portion of modeling reality.

I agree about him doing a better job than Rodin.

I am thinking that there may be a new paradigm altogether represented with this that might make the things you mention obsolete: that's a guess - I don't know.

Here's a list of just some of the claims he makes in that one talk:

  1. "the most advanced mathematics known to mankind"
  2. "what we have is the grand unified field theory"
  3. "with it you can create inexhaustible free energy, end all diseases, produce unlimited food, travel anywhere in the universe, build the ultimate supercomputer, artificial intelligence and [make] obsolete all existing technology"
  4. "[numbers] are actually points or locations that fold out into a 3D shape defining space and time literally"
  5. "a feat that's baffled countless scientists and mathematicians"
  6. "these shapes form pathways for any matter and motion"
  7. "everything is a coil"
  8. "marko's antenna designs are protecting the four corners of the United States"
  9. "they're found to be the most sensitive antennas ever created"
  10. "Jonas Salk*, the inventor of the polio vaccine stated that this math was so advanced it would never be understood in Marko's lifetime unless he cloned himself"
  11. "the connection between all these sciences is doubling"
  12. "doubling is motion at an angle, or what's called angular momentum"
  13. "it spins the earth on its axis, the solar system, galaxy, the whole universe"
  14. "at the centre of magnetism is… dark energy, tachyons, monopoles, gravitons, we call it etheron energy… it's conscious and alive… it's the ultimate fundamental particle in the universe, the god particle, and I know how to harness it"
  15. "etherons are literally the glue that holds the universe together"
  16. "with it it's possible to create a localised, spacetime implosion, a controlled desktop black hole"
  17. "are such things possible? frankly, yes, they are, and my team is ready to develop them at any time"
  18. "it has been peer reviewed by some of the best names in science"

Then he plays the spinny ball video, which was already explained in this post.

What a total APRON! Not a single one of these claims can be sustantiated. It's totally irresponsible for TED to allow this guy to stand there and talk such complete crap at one of their events.

If you think there's more to this than some guy talking crap, let's see any of them substantiated.

I listened to the first video to hear him say this. I paused it as 5:49. I haven't heard him say this yet.

Here's what he just said:

The model does addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.

It can model every principle of physics. It can model the periodic table of chemistry. It can model genetics - biology.

If I'm understanding correctly, Rodin's model includes 2 circuits, but Powell is saying that he's expanding Rodin's model into 6 circuits.

In the Advanced series, Powell talks about spires that spiral over the surface of the coil.

He says that he has changed the model and he calls his a quantized numerical taurus, and that if he is correct, the technology needs to be reconfigured. He says that if he is not correct, that at least Vortex Math needs to be re-defined, to change the terminology to include spires which are going over the surface of the doubling circuits.

He also mentions a Base 26 that can be used.

He says that the minimum size is 9 x 9, where you have:

3 nested vortices circuits
6 doubling circuits
18 vortices
3 groups of 6 vortices

He gave several examples, including 54 x 54, where you have:

18 nested vortices circuits
36 doubling circuits
648 vortices
18 groups of 36 vortices

And again... because it's 100% relevant, and giving at least some substance to ridiculous-looking claims is 100% essential unless you're committed to living in fairyland...

Well, looks like Walter Russell is another one of those crack pots that came up with pretty much the exact same model of the universe...

Throw him in with the lot as well, I guess...
They are all crazy together, yet judged alone... oh the irony.

Looks like you guys have to tackle quite a few people until you beat this 'psuedoscience' into the dirt. Oh wait, no you don't, because there is no such thing as context - each person should be judged as if every idea they have is their own graphomaniacal liability isolated from rational reality. And how can you tell that they are deluded charlatans? Well its simple, really, because you don't understand them and the ideas are foreign to your own presupposed context of literature, scientific writings, and prominent historical figures.

I think the pictures will help you guys better then to try to use words which you will disagree with on principle - because of whose mouth they come from...:

Also, I see no one has mentioned what Rodin thinks his mapping can do to explain the major groove in DNA. Pretty neat idea he has on that one, further adding to the comprehensiveness that comes with thinking more like he does - regardless of the particulars.
