We shouldn't discuss other countries problems? Isn't that the point of your post - a Venezuelan discussing America's problems?

And IT IS up to the people to fix their government, not a small group of individuals with influence. Otherwise, your just handing power from one group to another who still aren't for the people.

It seems that you want American's to act against our government because you are too afraid to act against Chavez's government. Is that a correct assessment?

You are assuming all kinds of absurd things and pretending they are concrete reality.

Segregation is wrong, and there is no reason why you should just run away.

There is nothing wrong with being wrong about something, I am wrong every day, you are we all are. It's not a big deal. You live and learn.

There is no "perspective" of a "nation" that is based in reality. You need to form perspectives individually and on case by case basis, rather than as an umbrella assumption.

No one here has any issues talking about the TSA, we welcome the discussion.

Your name calling tactics in the thread title are why people are responding angrily. It was just begging for divisive conflict.

Im a little angry right now.
Instead of saying "well yeh,TSA won this one,but im sure itll work out soon"
you all said "don't talk about america".
I didn't feel very welcome.
And i was just trying to give you the feeling that something's wrong on there.And it's no small thing.

Maybe you are trying to help, or maybe you just feel helpless yourself and wanna kick us. But you seem like a nice enough guy when you're not dishing out insults.

I choose, so far, not to fly in protest like another poster, but I might have to at some point. Having said that, I'm sure we all, including yourself, should consider the non-insult aspects of your OP.

Try to make nice and I'm sure you will have a lot to contribute here.

Would you like to start the conversation over? Here's a new title:

"Americans, What happened with the TSA pat-down protests?"

And then instead of calling us sheep, maybe start with "I thought there were going to be huge protests....."

This leads me to believe the real point of your post was: "Oh you Americans on ATS talk all big and then let the TSA stick you in the rear. Aren't you a bunch of tough guys."

That attitude, which is contained in your opening post, is the reason you got defensive responses. You tried rubbing our nose in it and we argued back. Now, your just being a cry baby because you can't defend your position.

My opinion:

The disposition of the thread is a direct result of the way it was approached. The way your argument was presented was offensive, which caused people to get defensive, causing them to lash out because they feel you were lashing out at them. I was most definitely offended and the demeanor of the thread says to me that others were as well.

You get what you give.

What did you honestly expect to get in return?

And yes we all have trouble with out countries.

dude easy on the yanks. i am a canadian too....but ultimately we are british commonwealth, and the american politicians are in bed with the royals as everyone knows thier blloodlines etc. Ever wonder if it makes it easier to amalgamate out might dollar with the lowly USD...hmm wait they are on par...hmmm.

Anyway not to say the north american union is actually gonna fly....but to the Canadians on here, i think we are tied to the americans and other royals/egyptians/romans tighter than you think.

Why don't we all just stop talking crap about other countries with their dictators and admit that we all took it like sheep.

Personally I don't fly too often so I can care less. But all this big fuss was made in the news and people acting up in the airport with their 15 seconds of fame videos. Now not even three months later everything is quiet.

Someone posted that TSA was on the back burner b/c of the dead birds and fish but the government and "experts" say that it was b/c fireworks scared the birds, thats why they died. And you know what, I bet a good 95% if people were satisfied with that answer. Again, we took it the sheep that we are.

Just like gas when it went up a couple years ago. All the whining in the news and every body and their mothers complaining. Now look, Jan 2011 and gas is up to 3.25 to 3.50 in certain places and not a peep from the sheep. Why? B/C as the OP stated. We get use to being a sheep!!!

I could probably just keep on going and going with BS examples but I'm sleepy. I'll just look at this thread tomorrow and see how you guys bash the crap out of me in the morning.

Oh wait, last one. Our soldiers have been at war for the last ten years so that we can keep our freedom. Yeah right. Our soldiers are dying overseas and coming back to see that the longer they stay out there fighting for freedom, the less freedom they have when they get back. Every couple of years we get reminded with a different reason why we ate at war.
