Howdy,

I was attempting to update my Avatar and looking for image size specs. (in pixels)

When I click Avatar Tutorial,( on profile page under Avatar Url) I get a Mature Warning page. Am I missing something?

I thought it was something like 150 x 300. But mine is cut off at bottom and not centered.

Thanks - A - Million!

I did not get the mature warning. Interesting. Here is the thread about new avatar sizes.

I've got mine 120 X 169. I believe that is close to the size specified when they changed into the new 2010 format.

My background is 120 X 420, again in accordancde with the new rules.

WOW! That's wacky. I see what you mean. Thanks for the heads-up. I'll send up the bat signal.

Any word on repairing this page?

I'm trying to find out if there is a way to rotate through avatars automatically and figured the Avatar tutorial page would help. It would be nice to have it back.

I am not absolutely certain about this applying to ATS - but many filtering programs will auto warn when faced with media content sites that they don't recognize. From a filtering point of view, you want to be sure kids aren't accessing naughty pics, so it is a game of "better safe than sorry" when facing the unknown. And the avatar tutorial is housed in media.abovetopsecret.com.

If I were a betting man, I'd feel comfortable putting my chips down on that idea, even being unsure if it totally accurate.

I have no filtering software on my computer and the warning appears to be of ATS origin. Does this not happen to you when you visit the link I posted?

Sounds good. Want to keep it friendly @ $1,000.00?

It seems to be an ATS originated warning. Plus I have no kid filters.

Perhaps ATS is protecting itself from me. I'm sorry about that whole sheep incident.

That is interesting! I just checked mine to see if I got such a warning, none was there. Maybe it is a browser specific thing? (I am using Firefox 3.6.15) or possibly an addon?

I honestly cannot recall if that warning ever appeared in my media portal or not. Being a middle-aged man such warnings not only go by unnoticed, they probably subconsciously cause me to click faster.

Are you trying the link provided by Benevolent Heretic or the one provided by me?

LOL. I just make my new Avies 240 x 170. That seems to suffice. But more importantly, I'd love to be able to use Media Upload portal. Seems I can only do pictures, not video since site redesign. Get stuck @ Step 1 with no nav options.

BTW, i get that Mature warning on both IE 8 on PC and Safari on Mac.

Please make check payable to..........

I just checked the link you provided as well as using my own propriety access - neither generated any warning. Another thought is that this could be tied to post counts. There are several screens that change as you pass certain post benchmarks.

But, just like ya'll, I am poking and prodding to see if I can't happen across the correct answer. Puzzles provoke me!

It happened to me too:

Mature Warning
This media file may contain mature content. You must be 18 or older and turn off your family filter before viewing this media file.

media.abovetopsecret.com...

I wonder if I have some type of family filter on my computer that makes this pop up.

This makes me REALLY want to see that vid; I love adult content.

Yep. I get this warning for the avatar tutorial video whether signed in, or not, to the media page. I also do not have any filters set. Interesting.

I'm running Trend Micro on my PC and investigating Parental Controls. Nothing so far. Especially odd considering the significant amount of intellectual research I do in evaluation of female foot fetishes. Errrr. I meant Mapping the Mind: Online Interactive Atlas Shows Activity of 20,000 Brain-Related Genes

Trend Micro is one of the worst ever.
(can;t believe you paid for that) lol

Just a friendly tip.
T.M. sucks.

I use no "virus protection" software... (aka scamware) lol
But I get the same thing on the page...

I'm happy with Trend Micro. I share your disdain but for McAfee and Norton though.

I get the warning too, firefox 3.6.15 and comodo antivirus plus firewall.
The really annoying thing is I didn't get to see one single bit of mature content..... getting me all excited like that for nothing

lol,
well, my OS doesnt require virus protection.
it doesnt come with a million back doors open.

My machines are more secure with no "virus protection" than any windows machine is with hoards of protection.

I could get friendlier and suggest you try Ubuntu, though. lol

But hey, if you're happy, you're happy.
