Report: Arizona Gunman Was Not Motivated By Politics

www.foxnews.com

Zach Osler, in an interview Wednesday with ABC's "Good Morning America," said: "He did not watch TV. He disliked the news. He didn’t listen to political radio. He didn’t take sides. He wasn’t on the left. He wasn’t on the right."

"I really think that this 'Zeitgeist' documentary had a profound impact upon Jared Loughner's mindset and how he viewed the world that he lives in," he said.

Well now those who refrain from politics are placed into the same category as Jared. Now it's not normal to not watch TV, listen to Limbaugh, be Red or Blue, or fall into any other categories they think we should fit into.

I don't know what this holds for ATS, but now the story has gone from the crime and murders to things Jared did.

He hadn't seen Jared for two years. I'm not saying Jared WAS political, but I am cautious to assume that he hasn't changed at all in those 2 years...

Yeah, this person didn't know Jared soon before he attacked. It seems eery how the MSM is focusing on Jared's behaviors (no TV, not Republican/Democrat) which many of us on ATS probably have in common, including myself. Including the conspiracy-type movie Zeitgeist. This is definitely trying to shift public opinion against people that share those behaviors, even though they are NOT at all like him.

He was motivated by the movie Zeitgeist? Are they serious?

Why might the religious war mongering republicans want to associate a film against, war, religion and corrupt use of the monetary system with a psychopathic killer?

I smell a smear campaign, very much similar to Wikileaks - it's designed to separate minds instead of discuss rationally. I'm not saying i agree completely with Wikileaks, but it's killed 0 people revealing corruption, how many people have people been killed by War?

Fox news? Who needs say any more?

We all know how the News is controlled by TPTB....and because the sheep just love their news....you didn't expect anything different did you??

Everyone everywhere seems to be operating on the assumption that this guy killed these people. None of us have any way of knowing who killed these people or why, yet everyone seems to be arguing why he did it, oh was he mind controlled or not, it's all pointless if he didn't kill those people and is just a patsy. Even if you could be 100% certain of mind controlling this bozo, would you still trust him to carry out an assassination?

He was a psycho dateless wonder who stalked a pretty lady and used hallucinogens habitually.

It had more to do with being a woman repellant and schizo than anything else.

I can't imagine while high on salvia, listening to drowning pool and pining over women he can't get he had any opinion one way or the other about anything political.

Just a loser with a broken brain.

The story was actually reported by ABC, as referenced by Fox News at the end of the article. I suppose you actually had to read it to determine this, though.

Excellent point! Crazy is as crazy does. Why can't someone just be simply nuts these days? I don't recall the media over politicizing the acts of John Hinckley. He was just a loon looking to impress Jodie Foster. I prefer to lump them all into the same boat. This kid is just simply insane, mentally ill, paranoid schitzo.... etc...

Sorry, foxnews reporting (as said originally at ABC, should have put it up top) does take most of the legitimacy away from it. But, this ex is telling the media how non-conformist he was painting a bad picture for those not in with society. Maybe it won't be anything, but as this story progresses conspiracy theorists are getting put in a bad and crazy image.

Dagummit folks, quit calling him Jared!

He is not the victim here, he is a perp and a lunatic that is charged with six counts of murder.

If he is indeed apolitical that would mean Palin is off the hook, still something tells me the lefties won't let it go.

ABC, CNN, MBC, BBC - what difference does it make, their journalism is awful.

I read the article; i was appauled by what i read, as i am daily when i watch or read the nonsense the alledgedly "unbias" media outlets let loose onto the public.

They are designed to invoke duality, and separation; Most of them appear to anyway.

I agree, and i think it's wrong. It's a smear campaign, i expect we shall soon loose our freedoms as we know it on the internet. This is going to be used as an exuse to condemn any "rebels" or anyone willing to stand up and ask about corruption, soon we will all be obedient little serfs of an Orwellian/Huxley-type of dystopia.

Bad polling data will shut them down. Just watch.

I guess the killer will plead insanity and spend the rest of his life in a loony bin somewhere.

So, what? You'd rather read InfoWars or PrisonPlanet? What do you consider to be "unbiased?"

And you do know that Zeitgeist was a crock of (manure), right?

Who said anything about PrisonPlanet, InfoWars? I didn't even express my opinion on Zeitgeist.

Alex Jones is a mongoloid.

I can't even remember what Zeitgeist was about. I think it was nothing new for me so I ignored most of it.
I know I watched it a LONG time ago. My friends watched it and were talking about it and it surprised me.

Going after salvia d with big guns too. Salvia D doesn't even last long enough - to 'do' salvia d and make a video?
That's weird IMO, I don't see how that can be.

I'm just wondering what you consider to be a "legitimate" news source. I see you still didn't answer my question.
