Grad Student watches Gitmo grow with Google Earth: (actually documents it-pics)

While doing research on prisons and internment for his archaeology PhD at Stanford, 28-year-old Adrian Myers happened to point Google Earth at Guantànamo Bay, the notorious US prison on the island of Cuba. Shockingly, it wasn’t blurred out—the image was as clear as the one of your house.

Of course, the government and military would prefer that information about Gitmo be kept locked up in some out-of-the-way place. But using Google Earth’s time slider, which calls up imagery from different dates, Myers saw significant growth in the prison’s footprint between April 2003 and November 2004.

With another commercial satellite image from February 2008, he assembled a map of the holding pen’s expansion. His results were rock-solid, demonstrating the stunning potential of free satellite imagery—which was enough to get his paper published in the September issue of World Archaeology.

Okay then. Good. Someone, other than the military, has been able to document the proper implimentation of prison areas that show the military prisoners-who are awaiting trial or other dispositions-are proper and better than being reported in the MSM.

Thank God we pulled a fast one on the Enemy and put our military prison base on a island that they most likely wouldn't be able to mount an operation that would free the alleged terrorist.

Please, keep in mind who and what we are fighting against & why we need to have GITMO.

How can US be the winner against a fictitious enemy? If you are an ordinary US citizen and you aren't on the government payroll in any way, you too are considered a terrorist and an enemy. So - victory will be declared when 90% of the world's ordinary people have been wiped off the face of the earth. Enjoy.

it was started over a lie, redirected from who was said to be responsible, sitting over in afghanistan, to a man presiding over iraq, who was planted by the CIA long ago.

meanwhile, this countrys' coffers have been drained, our soldiers come back even more screwed up than before and no knows who the enemy really is.

you know...i've thought about it plenty of times, but in todays days in times, what would an american do if an invasion force came here, removed our political base and did it under the guise of enduring freedom?
