Hi guys, ok..my geography is'nt up to much...but every day i look on the USGS earthquakes today site. And 9/10 times Vanuatu is there..those residents must live in constant fear, or have become so used to it...another 6.6 mag earlier today...

I agree. Vanuatu, New Guinea, Indonesia.... all those. However, it is good for Vanuatu that the majority of theirs occur in the ocean with only a threat of tsunami (only?
).

It has been shaking every day since the first big quake was in Dec 25 with a 7.3. I've been following the quakes since then on the USGS site. I think the plates are moving and the trench is getting deeper, something big is going on there. I mean it has been so make quakes and over long period of time.

Other interesting area are the Bonin Islands which has been every active and both are on the eastern Pacific. Maybe the Eastern Pacific is expanding?
