Then perhaps in time you might have a change of tune, and no one, as long as they are drawing breath is condemned.

Most people come around and recognize the logic and the reasonableness of the spirit of truth and love and life that is God, there is nothing else.

Prayers for you. Seriously. We can all be fully accepted, fully loved.

Well, good, I'm glad you're happy. It's not everyday that most of us stop and smell the roses and get all tingly feeling inside. Jesus seems to do that for some people though, so good for you.

not so sure about that- as I was opening a Gideon NT that a woman had left on the kitchen bar a few days earlier who had recently had an abortion, I heard as if sitting on my left an audible voice that said my name then "I am Jesus, I died for your sins believe in Me and you will never perish" I stood to my feet turned towards the voice and said yes Lord and had pretty much kept this on the down low for the most part while I studied up everything I could get my hands on and have come across quite a few scriptures that really stand out regarding that experience-

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.-John5

Either the postings on this thread are more than usual aggressive or off-topic, or the moderation extra heavy; in any case I will try to make my comments as dry and to the point as possible.

The message presented in the OP is in my opinion a MESSAGE, not an invitation to a dialogue. As I define it: A sermon, using ATS as a pulpit or message-board.

The same message has been presented time and again, with occasional new ornamentation, and opposition directed to the essense of this message is practically never met in any sensible form from a common communication platform.

The outcome is a repetitive pattern in thread after thread, where believers (B) and non-believers (N) post following comments, where (N) also can be considered as my personal response to the OP. I'm direct-topic by challenging the underlying assumptions of the OP, which' validity must be established before its postulates can be considered.

B: "God, Jesus, the bible (optional) is true"
N: "Circular non-sense argumentation"

B: "God, Jesus, the bible (optional) has been proved"
N: "1001 signs and wonders, where clouds look like angels, pigeons or something. Where Elvis' face can be seen on a hamburger, Buddha speaks to buddhists, Krishna to hindus, but where only Jesus speaking to christians counts".

B: "This is my faith"
N: "Even faiths must refer to something, instead of using the rather popular religionist-method of propaganda or violence"

B: "I'm only sharing"
N: "From my perspective you're pushing, and I'm pushing back"

ive tried 'accepting' jesus twice in my life. it didnt work, not even a little bit.
if god and jesus ever feel humans are important enough that they'll show themselves, instead of relying on dubious old books and a few fanatics, then maybe ill try again.

God cannot HEAR every single person. God cannot SEE the "sins" that everyone does nor can God TOUCH every person and heal them (which some believe) Prayer won't bring luck, prayer won't heal you of cancer. I thank the things I have been givin in this life. A loving God does not say kneel and worship me or you will be sent to Hell. Why do people refer God to him? God is the creation of life and the universe. "He" is not human.. Don't you see the bible is to control us? So many freaking rules that book has. Just like the government. Why do people believe the bible is the word of God when humans have written it, when we can't even find out who these people are. If I write a "Bible" that aliens are God and how we are to worship them. I guarentee 1,000 years from now they will worship aliens because a book says so. We are put here to experience the beauty of life which so many has takin for granted. You should not worship anyone but yourself, because this is YOUR life and you only get ONE experience/chance to live it. The conclusion....There is no "God" but a creater of great mystery who has given us the breath of life.

I'm sure I'm going to make a lot of people mad lol Your beliefs are your beliefs and I respect that.

My beliefs are the bible isnt just a book written by a guy. It was written by like 20 people, spanning over 1000's of years, all with the same basic theme. And really it only has two rules. Love God and Love People. And most of the people in the bible are historically proven to have existed. All the kings of Israel, really lived and ruled. As well as the foreign kings mentioned. God isnt human, but he made man in his image, and Adam was supposedly made first.. so thats prolly why people refer to God as Him. And God doesn't say worship me or go to hell... He just says repent of our sins. And frankly if you think your book will survive the 1000 years and people will worship it go ahead. One book, written by one person probally wont survive more then a few generations, before it disappears and is forgotten. Sorry I kinda answered sporadically...

Somehow I missed your post before I posted.. I totally agree that its very difficult to discuss religion on a forum such as this, alot of beliefs are only proven by the bible, or other book of choice. And if you don't believe the book.. well then the proof that (may or may not be in it) is kinda lost hahaha. Thats why its called faith. We can't force anyone to believe anything other then what they want to. Just offer a choice.

I am a believer in Jesus also.

He ia very real to me and I am thankful He loves me too.

When I sail the oceans, walk in the forest or talk with God's people I can see God in all that I see.

I sure wish everyone knew him as we know him.

I know a lot of people did, I was just making an example but you made it pretty clear about questions I had. What I don't understand is why pastors (at least my old one) said if I don't worship God and have faith in God I will go to hell. So if this religion believes that then technically they read it somewhere that God or God's messenger said this? I It is a good thing to live by, It makes you a good person and do the right things in life. I went to church for 12 years and most of my choices was because I wanted to please God and not go to Hell lol I guess after a long time I just didn't see or hear anything. Never got a prayer answered. There was so many gaps in the bible and it just didn't make sense. My parents go to the church and are active in the youth group but the whole committee hassles me about not going and act like i'm a bad person now because I don't believe in their "God" I told them I believe in a God just in a different way. I believe in Jesus and some things in the bible. I just interperate the bible differently. Apparently because of that, the Devil is misguiding me and i'm sinful lol I meditate and i'm a good person. I put even strangers before me. I'm always giving to the homeless. So whatever lol Sorry for the rant.

The bible -is- the true word of God. And Jesus did indeed die for your sins whether or not your accept it is your decision. I truly hope you do friend.

I have seen dead people who are very happy with their afterlife, and who were never Christians, and never gave over everything to a man named Jesus, if such a man ever existed. I mean, it's an English name, after all, so that would at least mean someone who could read and write English, and one who must look English also, don't you think? Oh, yeah, I forgot, in the popular pictures in Christian homes he does look English! Ever seen a person from that part of the world, friend? They are not fair haired and straight bearded, nor are they fair skinned either. They are in fact black as any coal, with coal black kinky hair and beard.

How do I trust a man I cannot find any real, hard evidence existed in the first place, outside the NT, which the educated know was authored by the Piso Family of Rome, at the behest of Constantine? And even if I choose to do this, how do I pick from the Thousands of Gods and Goddess in history, and the 16 Jesus characters? (all born of a virgin, all had supernatural powers, all died crucified?

This is not a religion friends, this is a relationship with the almighty God.

I cannot repent of my "sins," that word was taken from the Babylonian word, SIN, which was a Moon God, and an enemy of Yahweh. You cannot commit a proper noun, no matter how much you want to. Now let's look at the word, "Lord." Have you ever looked up the meaning of that word? Didn't think so....
