The Third Secret Of Fatima ....

This is a really interesting link and goes hand in hand with what is happening at the moment. If I remember correctly the 'Third Secret' was kept secret for a long time but it appears it is now coming to light.

The third part of the secret revealed at the Cova da Iria-Fátima, on 13 May 1917.

I write in obedience to you, my God, who command me to do so through his Excellency the Bishop of Leiria and through your Most Holy Mother and mine.

After the two parts which I have already explained, at the left of Our Lady and a little above, we saw an Angel with a flaming sword in his left hand; flashing, it gave out flames that looked as though they would set the world on fire; but they died out in contact with the splendour that Our Lady radiated towards him from her right hand: pointing to the earth with his right hand, the Angel cried out in a loud voice: 'Penance, Penance, Penance!'. And we saw in an immense light that is God: 'something similar to how people appear in a mirror when they pass in front of it' a Bishop dressed in White 'we had the impression that it was the Holy Father'. Other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious going up a steep mountain, at the top of which there was a big Cross of rough-hewn trunks as of a cork-tree with the bark; before reaching there the Holy Father passed through a big city half in ruins and half trembling with halting step, afflicted with pain and sorrow, he prayed for the souls of the corpses he met on his way; having reached the top of the mountain, on his knees at the foot of the big Cross he was killed by a group of soldiers who fired bullets and arrows at him, and in the same way there died one after another the other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious, and various lay people of different ranks and positions. Beneath the two arms of the Cross there were two Angels each with a crystal aspersorium in his hand, in which they gathered up the blood of the Martyrs and with it sprinkled the souls that were making their way to God.

A careful reading of the text of the so-called third 'secret' of Fatima ... will probably prove disappointing or surprising after all the speculation it has stirred. No great mystery is revealed; nor is the future unveiled.

The purpose of the vision is not to show a film of an irrevocably fixed future. Its meaning is exactly the opposite: it is meant to mobilize the forces of change in the right direction. Therefore we must totally discount fatalistic explanations of the “secret”, such as, for example, the claim that the would-be assassin of 13 May 1981 was merely an instrument of the divine plan guided by Providence and could not therefore have acted freely, or other similar ideas in circulation. Rather, the vision speaks of dangers and how we might be saved from them.

The concluding part of the 'secret' uses images which Lucia may have seen in devotional books and which draw their inspiration from long-standing intuitions of faith.

What remains was already evident when we began our reflections on the text of the 'secret': the exhortation to prayer as the path of 'salvation for souls' and, likewise, the summons to penance and conversion.

I remember having studied this in theology class, back when I was a Catholic. In fact, Fatima is one of the things that actually made me start to doubt the Church.

Thankyou for that - very informative and very interesting. I know one of the girls who witnessed the apparition died in a Convent in a place (20mile) Darlington, from my home town in the UK just a few years back. But again what on earth do you believe? Appaently she had spent the later part of her life there under the Protection of the Convent.

Well, the other two died early...anyway, I think the girl just came up with some things when she was little, and it all got out of hand when people started reporting what a little girl said.

Sister Lúcia died in 2005 in a Carmelite convent in Coimbra, Portugal, where she lived since 1948.

Her cousin Jacinta died in a children hospital in Lisbon in 1920.

I don't know whether the Third Secret is entirely delivered, and whether there are other parts not in the Third but in the Second secret (they are only so called 1,2,3...). I don't know. There are many interpretations online pro and con. Also I don't know whether or not Russia consecration is enough. We see the return to Orthodoxy including from the ruling elite. AT the same time seems the promised "era of peace" did not come, thanks to the 20 year efforts of...USA!

OK apart of ANY theological dispute that I'd rather leave to theologians, let me say something else:

Russia is not the Antichrist / Beast power, because at the end Russia is converted, as a condition for the Eera of peace. It is not said in the book of Daniel that the 4th beast converts, and it is not said in the Apocalypse that the beast or the false prophet convert. So rule out Russia of that number of countries. As bad as she were, she is not the Beast of Revelation.

Rather Russia is The condition of Era of Peace. How about an ET invasion that Russia fights against? How about the Dragon from revelation coming down to Earth, and the Draconians ET? We know of evil aliens in US labs - Grey, Orion, also some Draconian. What if Russia attacks them and not US citizens? Wjat if more come from the skies tomorrow? (enough Hollywood movies show that). Who will protect us - USA who collaborates with them already? I see in Russia a much bigger role than most of the researchers are willing to allot to her. Russia demonstrated several spirals-wormholes (Norway, Siberia, Urals...) and a 1.5 mile flying pyramid above Kremliin, that means she is contacted by ET different from the above (because the ET are not as crazy to fight with themselves, as we the people are). There is every chance the Russian ET to be good and humanoid, as those in Voronezh 1989. Since we are already invaded from inside (the West, USA) there is nothing to lose only to win from Russia involvement.

No, I really can. There's no evidence that they didn't. It's not all that unheard of for children to make up stories.

Easy, I realized that it was not a positive institution, I realized that theistic claims had no evidential backing, and I understood that reason is a really useful tool.

Different people give their opinions on different subjects. Some of them try to back up their positions with reason and evidence, others don't.

But is there evidence that they did?

I know that children have a great capacity to make up stories, but I don't think they would keep their story for so long and in those circumstances. But I do not have any evidence that they did or did not make up the whole story.

the text does not include Russia. The second secret is about Russia. If this part is a continuation of the second secret, one should expect Russia to be mentioned here either. Since this is an "abstract" given also to Khrushchev, presumably Russia is omitted. A leading cardinal at the time who knew the real text, seeing Newes Europa, said: print 10 000 copies, print 20 000, print 30 000 ...

In his pastoral letter approving the events of Akita as supernatural, the Bishop of Niigata said: "After the inquiries conducted up to the present day, one cannot deny the supernatural character of a series of unexplainable events relative to the statue of the Virgin honored at Akita (Diocese of Niigata). How about the sun dance - also from the demon, witnessed by 70 000 devote people in early 20 century without the modern effects???

The dancing or pulsating sun is seen today in a number of apparitions too. Medjugorje, Lanus Argentina, Sao Jose dos Pinhais Brazil, Dama Blanca dela Paz, Chile, and others, I think in Conyers Georgia USA.

Rather we should ask why the full secret is still not available while we are approaching 2012.
