I think the fact an investigation began and then was terminated implicates the possibility of senior level offenders.
It is commonplace occurrence in the military. My vehicle experienced blue on blue from an 82nd M2. No investigation. Detainee abuse trial was held, and one 1SG was reassigned, no further investigation. Another blue on blue involving a sleeping superior officer ordering fire in his waking moments, no investigation. I was left behind in Iraq, in the middle of a fire fight with a battle for over an hour, no investigation. A 1SG was caught with kiddie porn and was merely reassigned. A SSG was caught with naked pictures of a PVT's wife whom that SSG had repeatedly requested UCMJ Action against, no investigation or reprimand, the PVT was chaptered out. The list goes on and on, just from personal experience.
yes.. but, this is about Child porn, in our government....not about A SSG was caught with naked pictures of a PVT's wife
and high gov. officials are getting away with it.. due to the fact that it's being covered up and blocked
I wounder what would happen if someone in the pentalawn found they kid was being mol'd ?? ~!!!! I'd REALLY like to know..
I'd also like to know what the other soldiers are doing about this... this needs to be slammed in the face of congress, our dictator Osama, Judicial arm, every other world government that we will NOT stand for this any longer~!! It's BS,, plain and simple~!!!!
P entagon vows action on porn cases
The Pentagon’s top investigator yesterday vowed an “all-out pursuit’’ of any employees who downloaded child pornography, adding that his division would review the 1,700 potential cases that were referred to military investigators four years ago but were never screened.
Gordon S. Heddell, the Department of Defense’s inspector general, said in a statement to the Globe that his office is working aggressively to correct the mishandling of cases identified in a multidepartment government probe called Operation Flicker.
“I can assure those with questions that my office is conducting an aggressive pursuit of anyone implicated in Operation Flicker and that it is a key investigative priority,’’ Heddell said in his first public statement on the matter.
What does it say that so many in the Pentagon were involved in the viewing and purchase of child pornography????

not trying to stick up for these folk but could it be a virus type thing?
what i mean is that one might watch a little girl on girl and inadvertently have something dropped onto their hd?
the reason i say this is that if you surf /b/ for over an hour you (as the rumor goes) end up with some nasty thumbnails on your hd.
but if this does turn out to be as the thread title seems then hang them all i say.

What makes me scratch my head is that on a news search, it appears only the Globe is touching this.
Where the hell is the est of the MSM on this? This story should be the scandal of the year, it did start last summer, and its crickets.
And the media isn't told what to report?

I hope that is true. But what of the previous examples? Were they prosecuted?

I'm almost speechless.

Rank gets you privileges.
We had a E-9 that didn't want to be in our building so he bought a trailer to park outside and call his "office".
Everyone knew he was banging his secretary and eventually an O-5 from a different unit walked into his "office" and caught him feeding the tube snake to his secretary.
He was reassigned to sit in a useless position in Wing Command. Thus is how it all works.
YOU are paying that guy a lush retirement and all he did for most of his time in service was bang his secretary. Affirmative Action appointments are sooooooo successful.

Here is an Inspector General report providing details of the investigation.
The investigation was known as "Operation Flicker".
