It doesn't take a genius to work out why some people might be against guns and might air these anti-gun opinions on TV. There is no conspiracy here.

I am totally against guns my own opinion from a Jane Doe Yrs Truly, But I get the feeling everyone is worried about their guns right now and not murdered children women and judges.

Here's a link to a tw*tter user who alleges she knew the shooter, and gives some insight...

twitter.com...

Salt and pinches required.

Yep. Very left wing, volunteered at the book fair, thought the Congressman was stupid... Just like I said - an Anti-Gun Nut Job.

I had to run an errand and have been out of the loop for about an hour. A lot has happened and I am catching up.

Having said that, I would very much like to make a personal appeal to everyone here. Please let us put the political crap and our differences aside - so that we can accomplish what ATS is know for... Can we work together to find and document the facts before they disappear?

TPTB are clearing this man out of the public record more rapidly than I have ever seen before.

Not helpful...this guy was neither R or D when he opened fire...he was simply a animal.

Now, the pubs do of course give veiled threats of 2nd amendment remedys for those you disagree with, however,....actually, why the hell do they do that anyhow?

Nevermind...carry on.

Can you people back up for just a minute? Think about this. OK a congresswoman was shot. There are many dead and injured. Some of the latter may end up in the former. Throwing around political crap like blaming the Tea Party or calling liberals names denigrates what these people and their families is going through. Try to be less selfish and focus on what really matters. The victims.

A nutcase did this?, Yes.

Does it matter his beliefs? No.

Was it justified in any possible way? No.

Should people use this event as fodder for their own opinions? No.

But people being people, some will.

Should we let those politicized views remain unchallenged? No.

This is a tragedy.

It is more of a tragedy if we let this horrific event be used to further any party's agenda, like James Brady was used by the anti-gun freaks.

Do you think a madman can't find a gun when he wants one, regardless of what the current law is? Money talks. And just like you can go down and buy heroin or crack from a dealer, a criminal can find a gun anywhere, regardless if they were banned or not.

You have the money, you can buy anything.

This statement echoes a sad truth in today's world. Everyone I know is on drugs. Some type of drug, be it legal or illegal. And yes, anyone, if they have enough money, can buy whatever they wish. Cash is king, so to speak, at least for now. It wouldn't surprise me to see this further the cashless society agenda.

Personally, my heart and thoughts go out to the victims of this crime, and I shall send as much positive energies as I can muster their way.

Ok. But do they generally go after politicans and kill 6 people?

This man keeps talking about 'grammar' and having gone to school for grammar, yet clearly has very poor grammar; indicating he had become psychologically unstable/inchorent.

The issue is why did he have such a desire to do what he did? And how did his incoherence go unnoticed? If his writing was that bad its fair to say his speech and his relations with others was bad and probably very obvious. No one felt the need to 'report' him? Or at very least monitor some aspects of his life? Like his youtube account?
Maybe his actually accomplishing this deed was enabled by a third party; cia or military?

This doesnt happen often. Schizophrenics although in horrible spiritual turmoil generally fight with themselves and their 'thoughts' before they commit themselves totally to any deed they morally understand is wrong/evil
The timing is also perfect. Were in a very tumultuous political era and an event like this could challenge the legitimacy of a) conspiracy theories and thus the internet (where they abound) b) and of course gun control.

Imagine how this story is gonna be manipulated by the mainstread democratic/liberal media.

The fact that 'manchurian' candidates can be created, programmed and made completely incoherent (as in this mans case) yet ironically fixated on one goal - an objective to be carried out with a profound efficiency..indicates that the machiavellian overlords probably wouldnt shy away from utilizing such tactics/people to accomplish any strategic end.

remember. Anyone who has studied machiavelli, hobbes etc know the mentality that prevails at the upper echelons. This is completely normal stuff for them.

Rep Gifford was on Sarah Palin's Target list. Let's wait and see what this monster says.

You people blaming the Mexican cartels, and the random act of violence are afraid this may be what many of suspect it is a political assassination attempt by a Tea Party or Militia member.

Stop the hypocrisy let's wait for the facts, and the pieces will fall where they belong.

Look who's talking, you've already blamed Gov. Palin and the Tea Party. The primary reason that it does not look like a politically motivated shooting is that there were so many secondary targets that were hit. If this were politically motivated the targets would be very precise, there wouldn't be random people shot in the process. This guy was probably just an anti-gun nut job.

Yes, all the "anti-gun nut jobs" I know regularly carry guns and open fire on innocent people...

And if you think this Congresswoman was shot just at random and the shooter had no agenda then I think you are wrong. They just said on BBC News now that this Congresswoman beat a popular Tea Party candidate who was tipped to win the latest election. Anyone got any more news on this?

I'm a progressive and I sincerely hope it is a left wing nut job, as bad as it will hurt my cause.
I say this because if it is a left winger, it won't incite more violence. You better hope this guy is not a Tea party person because if it is, then things are going to get worse fast. That is logic not placing blame.

When a politician is shot, the first reaction is to think it was a person from the opposition party that did it. Like I said in my post, let's wait until the facts are out, the let the pieces fall where they may.

Exactly.... isn't it funny nobody is screaming about his religion and how it's a religious/terrorist act.

That's the MSM and ignorant morons for you..

what was his religion?

I heard his favorite books were mein comp and the communist manifesto, and he said he didn't trust in god,

seems like he was angry over the reading of the constitution and the part Gabrielle read was about freedom of religion

I know this may not be the place, but this is a good point. What is the rubric for conspiracy discussions, bringing together the disparate and looking for patterns?

We have gone from deranged Vet, to Tea Party to Anti-Semite to New Age wingnut to possible ATS conspiracy contributor, and so much more. Where is the label appropriate and where does it become prejudice or bigotry? What is legitimate vetting, sourcing and fact checking? Perhaps I am naive, it seems to me, for the most part, everyone is doing a good job for the most part.

Having reviewed all his YouTube "work".

I have this odd feeling that I'm looking at some form of cryptography when viewing his "videos"(largely just text) in order.

Anyone good at that want to take a stab at it?

Just an odd gut feeling though, dunno.

Ya, ultimately if they find it was from "their side", they will quickly try to justify him. Hell, there are threads on ATS that say OK Bomber Timmy is a hero...

If its some lefty lib, then it will be a discussion about mental health. if it is righty teadude, it will go to discussions about all sorts of bad subjects..

It will be much more rational if he is anything but the right...however, what does that say about the right overall? They will collectively go nuts or something? They are grown ups...

right?

But exactly that's my point.

Religious or non-religious beliefs are NEVER an issues.... unless It's a Muslim.

If this guy, Like the guy who shot up the base, was a Muslim..... all this thread would be a Muslim bashing thread.... isn't it funny NOBODY has mentioned his religion, or lack of.

That's conditioning for you..... THAT is the anti-muslim agenda in the media.

Thee guy who posted that quote was spot on.... one guy who is a Muslim represents his whole religion.... a lone white guy, is just a fringe nutter.

He stated that he wouldn't believe in god or something along those lines.

So it's only a matter of time before it gets blamed on atheism, sort of like the other claims that have been in this thread.

So I'd like to take this moment to hammer the message home again. There are multiple factors involved in things like this and trying to boil it down to one when you do not fully comprehend the situation, is only doing yourself a disservice.

Edit to address the muslim issue:

There is a difference in some situations where we know that individuals are solely motivated by martyrdom and jihad. This is not all muslim terrorists by any means whatsoever. But when you have people who have mentally sound capabilities, are highly educated, and are of good economic standing saying things like they love death more than the infidel loves life, that is when you can put two and two together. This isn't islamophobia like so many apologists will claim in a second, things are complicated and we must analyze them respectfully. RECAP: Not all muslims terrorists are motivated by islam. But when you have clear motivations, you have to take them seriously.
