true but if you spend money on food stores, ammo, first aid camp gear, how to books, survival, first aid, make you own cabin, cooking out doors, wild edible plants, and battery's, generators, home made fuel, ie bio diesel, methanol, and solar power then you will be part of the spend crowed.

Wonderful idea!!
I was calling 2011 the 'year to prepare' to my friends, and the sense of urgency is increasing. I am in rural central WV. We are actually scouting around the hills for caves and natural springs & such, just in case. May seem extreme to some, but I would rather be overly prepared then caught with the proverbial pants around the ankles.
Anyone in/around my area, message me.

Hey Buddy, yes I have access to an Army surplus store, spend quite a bit of time there tbh - hell I have a credit account wth them lol. I am a medical technician which means I have an extensive medical kit list and know how to use it all including medical gases, advanced life support etc. I also have a very thorough climbing/rescue equipment list and again know how to use it all. I have a small supply of 24 hour ration packs along with FRH's and will be getting more within the next week. I have quite a bit of survival kit at my home including various ways of lighting a fire and cooking meals/keeping warm. Water purification devices and tablets. Plenty of blades as well. I spent some years in a specialist millitary unit and feel confident in my abilities to care for myself and my family. My concerns are the lack of fire power for personal/family protection, something I can only hope would be solved by happening across some fire power or at least some ammo as I sure I can make something to fire the damn things. Also a martial arts intructor for many years so the good old sword/bat combo would be effective to a point but still not as effective as a fire arm of some sort. Also sensitive electronic equipment, right down to batteries will be stored in a faraday cage/box in case of EMP/Solar storm type scenario's. Whats the point of having batteries and other electronic devices if they get take out right at the start. Even equipment with batteries removed will be rendered useless in the even of an EMP strike or Solar storm that hits earth. Think basics!

Totally agree with that Snowgirl, would need to vacate this island asap. To small and confined for my liking in the event of a Large Fan being hit with nasty stuff. Would head for europe but would tend to try and stay away from main shipping lines as these are what they are and I would rather not get picked up/sunk trying to navigate through there lol. I also agree with the whole 'if you discuss survival/conspiracy' you are a paranoid nutcase chain of thought here in the Uk, nothing wrong in trying to stay alive and protect your family. It will be those that haven't made preperations that will be trying to take what we have because they never had the foresight to stock up themselves. I have various kit laying about that I am sure others would want, they would need to basically take it over my dead body; again I sure there are those that wouldn't have a problem with this.

so do you think we will get hit by a EMP or solar blast?, just wondering??? i was a scout so i go by the "be prepared" think out side the box, we have dollar stores so 5$ lose in battery's is no big deal and yes i stock up once a month, also have rechargeable ones, an hand cranked radio with light. Have you considered black powder shooting? old Brown Bess has done well for what it is, good for food on the table. some thing is better than nothing.

I have no idea to be honest my friend but its a possibility and something that can be protected against quite easily. Get stocked up and protect electrical items. Even a hand cranked radio can be taken out by EMP or a solar blast. It doesn't have to be turned on or even have batteries in for it to become useless.

Hi, if you want send me a msg (still dont know how ATS works).
Im about to move to Denver/Boulder and start to study at one of the Denver`s colleges. I heard many things about DIA, underground military bases, CIA is moving to Denver and things that Queen is buying land around Denver...just so many things, and when you put it together...it looks like Denver and Colorado is one of the safest place on this earth.

I visited Denver 2 months ago, and had a weird feeling when I was at the DIA. After that i was on the internet and found about Denver Airport conspiracy....-thats why im thinking about studying there.

I do live in mountains (about same attitude as Denver) somewhere in the middle of the Europe, but I think that if is so many discussions about Colorado, there must be something.

i think its a great idea to have some survival group there....let me know
