Ok so let me say firstly, that I honestly think 2012 will be just another year, and not the end of the World or any of that....

but, I am interested if anyone who believes that there is going to be some disaster, has started getting ready physically?

I do not mean stocking up on food, fuel etc, I mean has anyone started hitting the weights and increasing their own muscle mass / endurance and fitness levels?

I am interested, because I need to improve my strength and fitness before September, and I would be interested in any successful intense programs any ATSers can recommend.

I weigh about 190lbs, and need to put on about 30 to get to my 'proper' size I was 4 years ago.

Well, seeing as how so many people will believe something will happen, we can expect to see something like an assassination, bomb plot, anarchy in the streets, civil unrest, etc. So even if something doesn't happen, something will happen. Get it?

Anyways, I have been working out, and by December 2012, I will own a gun, so.... I'm ready to protect myself, i should say. But you can't know for sure unless you know what's going to happen.

I've started getting in shape, I'm 153 lbs and I'm bench pressing my own body weight now thanks to this program, and I'm not even close to stopping.

Stronglifts 5x5

There's another program, very intense, called P90x, but you have to buy it. It includes a DVD, and a nutritional guide with recipes. It's overwhelming. But look it up and try it out if you want.

I have an axe - no matter how big muscles people have it'd go right through.

Do you think there will be much fist fights?
I think fighting would mostly involve melee weapons.
Base ball bats, pitchforks, axes, sticks, hammers, knives etc.

Creatine always makes things easier combined with perhaps a push-pull program. If you google that, you'll see a few good push-pull program suggestions. I would have thought it would be better to lose weight if anything? Save on energy and build up stamina. I think if anything did happen it would be much more important to be able to run longer distances rather than be bigger.

no, really, i just need an intense program, to be super fit for september, and i am interested if any 2012ers are training up if they think that in 2012 the SHTF

Honestly if you want to prepare for the war in 2012 you need to have your own compound. Own livestock, fresh vegetables, well water and a clear mind. That's what is wrong with most people. They think working out all the time is strength. True it is but energy in the body is true power. You maybe able to lift 395 lbs. on a bench, but can you stop 3 or more men with just muscles? Chi or inner energy is the real force behind strength. What type of energy is the easiest to absorb? Positive or negative? Negative energy is the best but it is also the worst. Survival is negative energy if you think aboot it. 2 men just killed your child, or wife, or anyone you know, that sudden burst of energy will over power your muscular strength and end them. That's when the mind comes into play. Learning to harness and control the negative energy will make you unstoppable. Maybe i'm rambling on but a wise man taught me something from a movie. Jet Li's "The fist of Legend" teaches Whu Shu (spelling?) the ability to adapt to your enemy and use his energy to your advantage. Ex. If a person is about to grab your shirt and try to push you down with force, you already have his energy exerted. Instead of falling like a sis, bring him down with you and kick him over your body. A common barrel roll kick over trick. Anyways your body must be one complete circuit. Mind, body, Spirit. But if you choose to go to the store and buy foods you will still have those toxins clouding your mind, body, and spirit. Growing my own food and raising livestock here in texas, i've gained over 25 lbs. of muscles in 1 1/2 months. It is possible. You have to commit to your body and goals of what you want. But thats just my body. I haven't been sick since I was 14 when we started living healthy. No more allergies or colds, no flu, no migraines or headaches. This is just an opinion. take it or leave it. Its my way of showing people what we use to live like 100's of years ago without GMO foods and pesticides. I have 20.34 acres here in texas and buy october 2011 it will be a free civilized compound to anyone who would like to live a greed-free, healthy, helpful lifestyle away from slavery of the CSA (Corrupted states of America). You help me, I'll help you two times over. You screw me, you better have lube, cause i'm coming for you!

To much Rambo and Terminator movies.

What makes difference if you are stronger, but still dumb as now? Strength makes no big difference. Lets say it will help you 5%. Ok, that's something, go for that 5%. But I think now it is best time to work on yourself, not on strength but on inner strength.

Example, you will build muscles today, and stay uncontrolled by yourself, so when someone piss you off, you crush his head. That's dumb. Build inner strength in a way that you do what you plan to do. You can conclude that there is no reason for you to be pissed off ever again, but still, you will get mad tomorrow. So you are weak, you know what is good, but you do opposite.

Build inner strength, example don't get mad ever again, in your life.

I think that may actually be counterproductive. A more physically active person requires more energy/food to keep him/her going. It may be better to be able to consist on a lower calorie diet and try to maintain a work smart, not hard attitude.

Sign me up. I'll bring the chips

But really, I'll gladly help you grow the food, and I'll help you protect your compound.
What is better than a whole neighborhood rallied together to protect each other? Like one big HQ.

Odd, I have been going on the opposite direction, as I used to lift weights constantly and I was bulked up enough to have to wait at a doorway before passing through when someone else was coming along. Now I am 60 pounds lighter and no less strong in my abilities to lift, I am eating less, sleeping more soundly and I do not have any gastrointestinal difficulties (GERD). I am shocked to see myself swimming in my clothing but it feels good, I like being the size I was 20 years ago. I am currently 160 and a small meal takes me to the next day; I feel fantastic albeit a slight colder than usual.

I recently was invited to live on a Ranch as a caretaker. I am currently recreating what I had already had in place prior to this; garden, pens, and so forth. I took on the job but refused pay, instead I asked for a stipend to be given to turn back into the property; the job comes with a home for me to live in for me and my partner, my animals, and my personal belongings.

I love this job! I think by 2012 I will be ready!

Let me assure you, i would not ever want to 'crush anyones head' lol !!!

i just have a change in circumstances in september which means i have to get back to my old fitness levels where i could walk all day carrying heavy loads doing lots of physical stuff

i follow sun tzus teachings when it comes to violence and always always try to put myself in a position to avoid it
