I am hunted by a Breather

An interesting spoof of a story urmenimu2. Its amazing how peoples imaginations get carried away like yours has done. You've got to quit reading all of those horror stories and stop watching all of those horror movies, they're starting to affect your thinking. Your a good writer of short fiction stories, and the twist at the end was interesting. Bring on your breather, I'll challenge this imaginary creature that exists in your mind all by myself, leave the others alone, I'm the prize to be tangled with; and I'll defeat your breather. Let me be first, and last on the breathers list of challengers.

An interesting story, is the jackal you meet who explained the function of these breather's to you by chance named Anubis. And now because you say since I read this I will be having my own personal breather as well, yey your so generous, are these breathers or breather going to dissemble my dreams now as well, and suck out my essence slowly? I would ask, what were you and your shaman friend smoking, because its some strong stuff.

But anyways now that I'm cursed, I guess ill hear some heavy breathing going around, and in my dreams, well considering that in my dreams the unicorns breath fire, and shoot lasers out of there eyes, and the dragons level mountains speak French, and recite poetry, and there are ninjas and zombies everywhere, and all other weird and crazy stuff I dream about, and that are in my dreams, I would in all likely hood not even notice these breathers ..... But ill keep an eye out for them, maybe all the creatures who populate my dreamland could have it out for who gets to suck up my essence "whatever that is" since apparently I am made of meat, and electrical impulses, it's anybody's guess.... But I could just see it now.. unicorn vs breather, round 1...FIGHT... Yup been playing to much street fighter lately, now everything in my dreams is street fighting and doing hadokens and fireballs.

yea this story is a bunch of crock. It reminds me of those lame myspace things where it says "if you dont repost this, a lil girl that died in 1960 will come at night and stab you with a knife" its bull. Don't believe this guy. The jackal AKA myspace.

Well, I read this thread yesterday, and no breathers attached themselves to me last night. I had a very good sleep. I even made friends with a nice family of reptilians in my dreams.

Trying to re-read the above paragraph, it sounds like if I dance with my jackal (Anubis ?), I will be a warrior and therefore be OK?

I guess it's hard to be cursed if you don't understand the curse?
If I can't find a jackal to dance with, will a coyote do? They're quite similar...

Ahhh, yes .... Coyote aka the Trickster, it was the first thing I thought of when I read the OP. Never believe the Trickster. Rule #1

Try to go to staples and buy a cheap (20USD) digital recorder to catch the breathing. I sort of experienced something like this when i was about 7 or 8 years old.In the woods there was a big Green slimy thing that looked like a mutated man from about 100 yards away. Also Im wondering if you ever saw this entity out of the swamp or "The Boardwalk"?When you were in the swamp did you see a shadow or anything? I agree that if you were drunk and had maybe electrical problem you could be seeing illusions. Who knows you might even be the breathing sound.

PS : Why do you have to get this out before new years??

I read the enitre breather story/saga/drama last night. I have two lines of thinking on this post. 1) It's all in mind of the overactive college student that working on developing his chops and we are his gullable ginea pigs. 2) It has some nugget of the truth to it and is freaking scary. My only question is why would this guy wait for so long to seek help? If I remember correctly this went on for years, which seems way too long in my opinion. If I had a dark breather thing haunting my life and feeding on my soul I think I would being seeking any sort of help possible. This leads me to questions the whole thing...

Please don't send your soul eater to my house if this is the story is true. I have enough things sucking on my soul currently. Thank you.

OH MY GOD! THE BREATHER IS IN MY HOUSE. I heard the breather all last night like it was breathing right next to me! except it wasn't deep huge breaths, just regular human like breaths.

Oh wait that was just my wife...

Seriously man, I conclude 3 possibilities to the reason of this thread.

A>You really are being haunted by a breather and everything you are saying is true. In which case you damned your soul for eternity to creep among dark evil entities. In which case you are screwed, more so then we are. Point being that you are an evil evil person, and deserve to dwell in hell for eternity.

B>What you are saying is true... well to your perspective. You are mentally ill and probably have schizophrenia. In which case again you are an evil person, who is weak mentally and physically.

C>Total hoax. In which case you are not only evil again but immature and probably a virgin.

There are certain parts to this that reminds me of a book I read from a long time ago.
I think the fictional novel was called 'The Spirit' and it was about a young Native American
who followed a Bigfoot and a dog that ran between the the young man and the monster.

The Native American was tracked by a guy who enjoyed hunting and saw this as a great quest.
The characters in this book all seem to fit in the OP's account.

I've looked into possible connections with this 'Jackel' intermediate and all I could discover was this:

Interesting story, not sure if i believe it or not, but on a related note and one that I can confirm is very true.

My mum and sister once went to the Edinburgh ghost walks, and explored the tunnels beneath certain parts of the old city as well as a graveyard and some old rooms. She said one room in particular felt 'cold' and my mum went in with the tour guide and a few other tourists, whilst my sister stayed outside as she was too afraid.

Not much happened, my mum said it was dark and creepy but nothing eventful happened, until it was time to drive home. On the way home, my Mum swore on a few times she felt or heard breathing in the car as she drove home, and i know she isn't lying.

After reading this, which reminded me of left 4 dead 2 (swamp levels) very much, I did notice something in my house.
I have no experiences of anything unexplainable, I just like reading about interesting things here. But, as I dont like being in the lounge at night (my parents watch antiques roadshow and crap like that), I spend my time in the office, which is effectively outside the main house.
Here is the weird bit: I have noticed on at least 2 occasions that I can hear a breathing noise, that isnt me and is not my parents who are at least 20m away, through walls. I have turned off my music to hear it better and I can still hear it. Im not saying it is connected to this, as it could be the water pump or something. I have never heard this before and I just thought I would post it. It isnt a creepy breathing noise, just one someone makes normally.
As for it draining my soul, I think that is false. If anything, it is making me happier. I have more happy lately that I have ever been, I would usually attribute this to it being perfect weather, christmas presents, and my awesome girlfriend.

Im also not a virgin, so that excuse wont work on me. hehe

Oh op..op, were have you gone....Has the jackal headed god taken you, to dance with him..... Is this dance you say your dancing with the jackal like the tango were it takes two to go in circles, or is it more like the macarena. I still want to hear this story, and meet this jackal, and the breathers, as well. How long due I have to wait, because...well, nothing much so far, Is there a timeline for when the curse kicks in, or is it when I least expect it to start sucking up my essence...like all good curses are supposed to be. Come on don't disappoint, at least tell me/us what your smoking, because some might want to know were to get some of that... But not me I don't smoke, it's bad for you. It will kill you in the end.... Anyways the only dream I had was one of a videogame I played some years ago, were I was in it and playing around in the mech's and flying around blowing stuff up, and yes there was even a jackal in it by the name of Anubis, just like in the game, and your posts.

i'm sorry but i can't help but be extremely skeptical of you're story...first you start off with little info as if you are leading people on and trying to build suspense...then you claim you have picture evidence, but then you refuse to post the pictures and retract from your OP that you have the picture...sure its a cool story, but I'm not buying it without that picture you were so sure of...with all due respect please don't try and pass something like this off as real unless you're willing to share all the evidence you supposedly have

Even though I am relatively new to ATS I can see an overall trend developing. There are all of these interesting postes that pop up with people that have had interesting experiences/encounters want to tell us their stories but once they get called out on their inconsistancies or their unwillingless to produce their so called evidence they disappear and stop responding to their own posts.

So whats going on? Are these people faking their tales? Or is there another reason people choose not to support their claims?

yeah it really is getting out of control.

but some advice for these kind of things, usually when people are lying they either give too little information or way too much. In this case he describes where he met "the breather" in too much detail, then told little describing details about meeting with the shaman and about the jackal.(what it looked like or sounded like because obviously it talked to him a lot more then the breather). too many inconsistencies with these so called "memories"

Also usually people who tell big stories that are complete bull are usually not very smart. Expect several misspelled words and overall poor grammar.

and when they are called out about anything they get super defensive, and always whine to mods "they are being mean!" again a trait of an immature, weak human.(and probably a virgin)

I was "ok" with the story at first, one has to be somewhat skeptical, even though I know there are things we cannot see. Where it went sour for me was :

I know the ghost tours in Edinburgh and know that one room has a breather type experience. I will try and dig it out . Fortean times did something on it about two years ago. I remember there was some EM spikes in the room. As I wrote earlier there is something similar in west Africa but the entity is used in spiritual combat and is the equivalent of an artificial elemental or tulku.

Anyway the idea of this entity being a meme or contagion spread by this internet story is complete bunk. The OP was written by a nasty kid who needs to get out more and maybe meet some nice girl or just any girl.

I hope no oneis spooked by the OP's drivel.

It could also have to do with the fact that whenever someone is spilling their beans (assuming they are truthfull, since this is ALWAYS a possibility) they actually get harassed here on ATS, wich would make them want to undo whatever it is they started in the first place...

Either that or OP is still a 12 year old virgin ofcourse
