Bomb outside Egyptian church kills 21, wounds more than 70 after New Year's Mass

beta.ca.news.yahoo.com

CAIRO - A car exploded in front of a Coptic Christian church as worshippers emerged from a New Year's Mass in the Egyptian city of Alexandria early Saturday, killing at least seven people, officials said.

After the blast, enraged Christians emerging from the church clashed with police and stormed a nearby mosque, prompting fights and volleys of stone throwing with Muslims, police and witnesses said — a sign of the sectarian anger that has been arising with greater frequency in Egypt.

This is going to far, this is not the day, not saying it is a day anytime, but innocent people?! For GODSAKE use your brains, they are really getting on my nerves and most of the worlds, I just had a great time with friends for a great new year... And I see this, it is sickening.... I always try to change peoples views, but it is getting harder everytime these people pull off there horrid acts, I can't imagine how the people over there feel... Infact I can't even write properly as I am way to angry, I can't believe the lengths these people are going too, and they think they are doing good... I say destroy them... Really no excuse, nada, nothing for this.

I applaud your stance on extremism done in your religions name however....

At this point there is no way of knowing who bombed the church and for the Christians to assume it was a Muslim caused attack is a bit premature IMO.

I'll like to wait and see who exactly caused the attack. I'm sure the Egyptian authorities will figure it out.

Don't jump to conclusions

Alqaeda has already been blamed for this attack, the usual suspect, although the usual suspect in Egypt is Mossad.

The government could be responsible

The Egyptian government could be involved. Egypt is a dictatorship and needs such attacks to continue the dictatorship and crack down on any political opponents. Al-Qaeda is usually blamed because that way they can continue arresting political opponents in the name of Al-Qaeda, and continue the dictatorship.

i agree with you 100% , someone is benefiting from these kind of attacks and im sure the current government is one of them , they need these incidents every now and then , it makes me feel that they are the ones doing it to creat hate between people , sad but true.

Question is. Why would they blame Muslims is a Muslim dominated country attacking the mosque for something that is not even proved ..? These things never happened before!

The drill is as usual.. CIA/MI6/Moosad operatives. (consider the Egyptians ways to handle the recent Gaza helps)..

Egypt bomb kills 17 at Alexandria Coptic church

At least 17 people have been killed at a church in the Egyptian city of Alexandria in an explosion blamed on a suicide bomber with foreign links.

It is now being said it was a suicide bomber. It is kinda sad that people can't unite in the face of such tragedies. After all, even a mosque was damaged. The fallout from the explosion:

After the explosion, angry Copts clashed with police and local Muslims, reportedly throwing stones and targeting a nearby mosque. Some cars were also set ablaze in the turmoil.

Protesters went into the mosque, throwing books out onto the street, the Associated Press news agency reported.

The mosque was also damaged by the bomb and the casualties included eight injured Muslims, the health ministry said.

Danyal...thank you for your honesty and your heartfelt condemnation of this (and other) despicable act(s). More (all?) members of the Muslim community must begin to speak up loudly about this worldwide madness.

...to assume it was a Muslim caused attack is a bit premature IMO.

Slayer69...Surely you must be jesting, or still under the influence from your New Year's Eve partying. What do you suppose the odds are that this was perpetrated by a Muslim extremist organization? As a wild guess, I would say it is a 99.99% probability, IMO.

...although the usual suspect in Egypt is Mossad.

...Egyptian government could be involved

Lurkee...Yes, it is true these are possibilities. And it is also possible that a previously (still?) unknown species of intelligent wombats, with anger management issues, are the real cause of this explosion. But, um, also...maybe it was a bunch of wacko Islamic extremists who did it...seeing as how they do this type of thing about two or three times a day around the world.

...it makes me feel that they are the ones doing it to creat hate between people , sad but true

Dr UAE...Sad, but delusional.

Apologists...you just have to love them. Just how many hundreds of these kinds of attacks do people have to read about, before they can come to the obvious conclusions of who is responsible for almost all of them?

That is, I can just about guarantee you that this atrocity was conceived of, planned and executed by Muslims...just like 99.99% of the others we read about every day.

Seems like the extremists are targeting Catholic Masses more these days...
this on the heels of the Mass that was annihilated on All Saints Day in Iraq.
Wonder what will happen elsewhere in this year.
And what will be done, if anything.

People look at stuff like this the same way most people view the 'christian' crusades...

The same way the crusades WERE NOT ordered by God, these extremists are also NOT ordered by Allah to do this violence..and it just gives regular Muslim followers a bad reputation.

Martyrdom and Jihad is written into Islamic doctrine. The doctrine condemns non-believers and advocates violence against them in many passages.

Leaving islam aside, this is what religion does. It causes otherwise morally normal people to do and say despicable things if they think they have "God's permission. It causes prejudice and irrationality. When will our species learn this is no good.

Sweden have got it right.

This is such a cowardly way to attack..

I rack my brain trying to think of what could possibly deter suicide bombers and i believe i have the answer.

A blanket international law must be enacted that calls for the swift execution of the bombers 20 most immediate family members.

This in itself is EXTREME however, should such a law exist, i am sure people would not allow their family members to fall into such extreme groups.

...and I would go as far as to add a bit of my own 2 cents to that if I may. Much the things like bombings, wars, and other horrible acts that are said to be done in the name of religion are really man's trying to bend the religion to fit and justify his own corruptness.

The 'religion of peace' strikes again...
There's been little peace in that land since their war-chief showed up in the 7th century...

You can't blame the shadowy elite's bomb squad for every bomb that goes off. That's almost the same line of thought a skeptic goes down when dismissing a conspiracy theory out of hand.

You sir have individually changed my perspective on Muslims and have provided me some expectation of future hope and peace. I can only hope that other Muslims will have the motivation to rise up, and join in your voice of intolerance to this violence.
