I think you misunderstand what the rapture is. When taken up to heaven this will be Judgment on Judgment day. Rapture happened After Jesus was taken up. ACTS 2

Religion is for naïve Kool-Aid drinkers.

Edit: this topic needs to be moved to "Religion, Faith, And Theology" or "Conspiracies in Religion"

I'm with several others that posted on the first page. This topic (2011 & religion orientated) doesn't really belong here.

I'm halfway into reading 1984 & thought that's what you were aiming at (didn't think the "?" was part of the title).

My bad. Good job.

After reading God's word ... I have come to the realization that there is NO RAPTURE! That is not how God works.. He never raptured Noah from the flood He warned him and had him build an ark to survive the destruction of the world. He never raptured Jonah from the mouth of the whale or Shadrack, Meshack and Abindago from the furnace. I believe the rapture theory is a lie to turn the people who think they believe in the true God against God. Jesus warns of what is to happen and if they would not be here for it then why warn them? I believe God is sending us signs like the severity of storms and hurricanes and the earthquakes and vulcanos along with all the UFO sightings being seen and they are coming faster and faster just as it is written in His word. God has never raptured anyone He has ever communicated with from anything and He won't rapture the end time people either. The rapture theory is designed to deceive people into thinking they don't have to read the Bible and follow the seasons and signs about what is coming or worry about it because they believe they won't be here to go through it but the truth is we all will.

I totally agree with you! God doesn't work that way... If people would read His book they would see this.. I believe Satan has dreamed up this doctrine to deceive the multitudes into a false since of security thinking they don't have to be prepared for what is coming because they think they will fly away out of it. I used to be the same way so I know.. If any person would try talking to me about the tribulation and what is coming I would say to myself... Don't need to hear this cause I won't be here! Until I actually read God's letter did I figure out just how many untruths are being taught in the churches.. Jesus even has choice words to the teachers of religious laws in the first 4 new testiment books! They are the blind leading the blind... I was floored when I actually understood what He was saying. After all... the anti-christ will appear to be holy..A wolf in sheeps clothing.. After all, was it not the high priests who demanded the execution of Jesus? The King found no reason to kill Him but the priests demanded they release the murderer instead and kill Jesus...That right there is reason enough to TRUST IN GOD'S WORD and not in mans!

Okay so let me start by saying that I do not believe in this and I have no intention to. That being said, I do not intend to judge you for believing that is not the way I am with this sort of thing. I am posting here because I have a question.

Where does anything say that the end of the Church Age was in 1988. How did you/everyone come up with that number?

I am doing a bit of research on this rapture stuff trying to understand the thought process completely and I am hitting a dead end there. Thank you.

I can pretty much guarentee that when nothing happens the religous spin machine will be in over drive. They will have some sort of lame excuse like we did not account for leap years. Then a new date will become the end and a new batch of kool-aid will be served.

Where does the Bible say the Rapture will occur? and that followers will be swept away to the heavens?

I have studied Revelations for years, and Took two College classes at a State University on the subject, so I have seen the arguments, both Christian and secular, I understand the historical context of the eschatology as presented by John of Patmos.

I am a believer of Christ, and while I can admit I am far from complete in my knowledge of the Bible, I can say that I have read it cover to cover, studied it in depth, and apply it to my life the best I can.

Where is the rapture anything more than a loose interpretation of a few scriptures which can be argued don't pertain to the entire church?

The earth is only 13000 years old? What a joke. The earth is over 4 billion years old.
The whole rapture thing was only brought into some churches doctrine around 1800 or so. The popular version about the church age, the tribulation and rapture only since about the 1970's.
This guy is going to be in a world of hurt come Sun 5/22/2011 The Catholic church does not recognize the rapture as scripture and in fact you wont find it in the bible. It's mostly evangelical churches that make this claim about a tribulation and rapture.
I'll see ya on Sunday!
