If this is a government attack to somehow try to disrupt Anonymous' plans then they're being pretty optimistic about it. Most of their proper operations aren't actually discussed on the website.

Sun Tzu-The Art of War

My response is obvious enough.

Yes. But you are using it to lead to a conclusion that is not in context of what you quoted.

Your attempt at clouding the waters comes form other lines of art of war that I won’t waste the time quoting, but that is besides the point.

What you quoted from the art of war has no context on the question of who is right (more right). The government or the people going after the government.

The answer to who is right is not absolute. It depends on the world views of the person you ask.

Yes, a population will tend to defend their government when it’s attacked, but that has no bearing on the question of who is in the right. The government or the people attacking it.

Considering how other governments can do what we are accused of doing and don’t get any backlash, that would indicate that the backlash is unfounded and there is ulterior motives behind the backlash beyond what they say provoked it.

That ulterior motive is the problem I have with a lot of antigovernment forces.

Let us deal with our government ourselves thank you not. We don’t need your help.

Lets see now, obviously you have multiple questions and i am more than willing to reply as long as they are within reason, so instead of attaching quotes and so forth, how about you post question by question and we go from there ?

No questions, just general statements.

I have more interest in what mouse my cat ate this morning than I have about your opinions.

That is something I have noticed about people online. They seam to get full of themselves. Like they think what they type on these boards will actually mean anything to the rest of the world.

I guess it’s all for the better. It keeps people occupied instead of being outside doing stupid things.

Im glad someone else pointed this out. The actual website 4chan is innocent in this. It is a breeding ground for young kids with no role models. And the smarter people use them. 4chan is only the most well known chan-site. infact there are thousands of them, and the more underground ones are where the more notorious individuals typically reside. and its these individuals who concentrate their efforts on 4chan, because it has the biggest "population". And another thing, anonymous really isnt a group. its more of a mentality. They have pulled things that i find rather humerous, and things I find to be in real bad taste. and thats the whole point, its different groups of people pursuing different goals. the "anonymous" brand is, if anything probably more an act of self-protection.

This man here is on the right track. In many of the larger and more notorious instances of "hacktivism", 4chan has really served as nothing more than a figurehead, their unparalleled population serving as an intimidation factor. In reality, though, these people have done little of the actual work. The majority of the damage being done is by more knowledgeable individuals, who are still affiliated with Anonymous, but have very little association with the website 4chan. The majority of the force is so decentralized, blocking off 4chan will have little effect on Anonymous' efforts.

Not sure about your cat, but i know my kitty ate several hundred in the last 48hrs.

My offer stands as posted and i am not one who requires any attention but as an individual, i do enjoy interacting with members who have an opinion and are open to suggestions without the restrictions of how one perceives or assumes what reality is based on their interaction within a social order.

So,
after all of the retarded, effed up crap that 4chan/b retards have done over the years..
Someone finally felt it necessary to take it down?

They can destroy peoples lives,
share illegal pornography,
ef with anyone they feel like...

And no one felt the need to take it down before now?

If it was govt.
It wouldnt surprise me.

They dont give a crap about destroyed lives, or child porn...
unless of course it is their lives being destroyed.

So,
Now these 4chan tards stick up for something like wikileaks..
and their site is taken down?

Seems just like the govt.

Screw everything that actually matters in the world..
only take action if it affects us directly.

Child porn? it's ok!
Terrorizing people? It to, is ok!

Support a good cause and take action to do so?
it is NOT ok!

I am sure if 4chan never got involved with wikileaks..
they would be allowed to continue to share child porn and f*** with anyone they wanted, for as long as they wanted.

But no,
they have done something now that big brother doesnt like, because it directly affects "him".
So, we cant be having that!

Bottom line~
break all the rules you like,
do whatever you want, to whoever you want..
as long as its not to the shady dicks in power.

Or,
Somereal hackers decided it was time for the b/tards to piss off. lol

I chose not to edit your reply for apparent reasons.

As for those..how do i put this...ammetures, well lets say from what i am aware of that they are as dangerous as a fly on the wall. Given that they decided to choose sides, well it kinda nailed the coffin.

net lingo is that they were offered but declined and as such, one by one...Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall....we all know the rest. Then again, what do i know, i too am within a conspiracy site.

4chan has gone down, from DDoS before and you might be surprised to know who did it...

It wasn't the NSA. It wasn't the FBI. It wasn't Interpol or China, or Iranian hackers bent upon silencing our "anon" defenders (a bit of sarcasm )...

It was /b/ who took down 4chan. My guess, it is infighting in /b/ this time as well.

~Heff

(side note - I've checked 4chan several dozen times since this thread hit and have yet to notice any slow down of load time. Though I did notice that the guy who runs 4chan appears to be having a tantrum. And I suspect tht is the reality of this situation. 4chan has been made moot by moot.)

while i can't and will not defend /b/ (and only /b/ is really the only board on 4chan that does this stuff) as someone who goes there every now then i feel i have to say something.

yes child pornography does get posted but it is deleted within a minute or two, the ip is logged and handed over to law enforcement. not to mention most of it is probably posted by law enforcement themselfs to track the sick people who click or download it. so its not like there getting away scott free. i mean do you really think the site would stay up if law enforcement wasn't tracking and keeping a eye on it.

as far as Terrorizing people, please what some prank phone calls to wal-mart or pranking chat rooms. the few people who where terrorized where mostly one who pretty much dared them to (not that they deserved it). and still it tends just to be pizza bombing and a hacked facebook and the like.
im done now

I just went to 4chan, its up but there is something fishy. All it says is "thank you" at the top of the screen next to the 4chan logo and asks you to take a 4 question survey. After you finish the survey it asks you to pick a prize out of 3 one thousand dollar gift cards.

Walmart
Victorias Secret
Target

Anyone else see this as abit odd?

EDIT: Not working now, Just says something about an invalid search for "free porn". Ah, 4hcan, you always cease to amaze.

Government No. This was a small group of White Hat professional ITs that are getting a little revenge on 4chan and Anon for the trouble they caused.

While everyone else is doing there new years partying the ITs of 4Chan will likely be busy trying to keep there site alive.
And the White Hats have likely set it up where they just check in once in a while and start a new problem for 4chan and go back to partying.

If this is someones idea of revenge they are doing it wrong. The people who think this is a big deal fail to realize that the people at 4chan really have no stake in the site. If someone disrupts the site then there really is no harm done other than to the owner of the site, not to mention it was only down for a short time.

Unlike anonymous' attacks which not only hurt the companies that they attacked but also some customers that used their services.

The thing about 4chan is that even if the site was shut down a new venue would pop up instantly, there is no stopping anonymous from doing what they want to do ( they really don't need 4chan).

4chan going down would just upset a bunch of bro's and halt the production of new internet memes

For anonymous to have plans they would have to be a cohesive group. Again, people simply do not understand what they're talking about. There never is a plan, there is no group. What happens is one person comes up with an idea, posts it & if others like the idea they'll go along with it. If enough people get involved, the action gains attention & if it's directed at a well known entity then it's dubbed by the media as a coordinated attack by the terrorist group known as Anonymous when in reality isn't nothing more than a mass action carried out by like minded individuals who happened upon a specific thread in a message board.

Only fools believe 4chan is the home of anonymous. Synonymous yes, but not home. This won't make a single bit of difference, besides prodding a sleeping beast.

Expect retaliation. A BIG retaliation.

Or maybe nothing. As another member mentioned, it could just be in-fighting.
