7 Aftershocks? I may not know much about Earthquakes, but i dont thing this is normal...

PuterMan,i´m pretty confused. This Seismo did register the Main one,but (if i read that right) not the Aftershocks (dont know how to get the Seismo from Yesterday, but i looked at it after it happened)

But This one did. Could you look at Those and those please?

I didnt find many if any aftershocks of past Quakes there...

There's been at least three quakes in Arkansas. Another larger one just showed up, but it hasn't been listed yet. In fact, there seems to be several smaller ones as well. I wish I could post the images and maps myself, but I'm not even going to try. This is where Puterman should swoop in.

Here's the webicorder for today. Maybe someone could post the webicorder. Arkansas is more active than Mt. St Helens and Yellowstone at the moment. If I'm wrong about some of the quakes being local, forgive me. But they look local to this rube.

It hurts to write. So my desire for attention is not frivolous. You know that I've been following this swarm and noting it's characteristics. When plotting the epicenters, it's obvious there is a trend. If you draw a line from the northern most location to most southerly point, a faultine becomes evident. I'll have to check to see if it's a known fault. What's interesting and somewhat troubling is when you look back at the large New Madrid Quakes starting in 1813 and realize that the first quakes were in Arkansas. Is this a prelude? And is this phenomenon man-made?

My fear is that this activity will unlock the fault under Memphis. Or another area ruptures. Here's some evidence to support my ideas.

Thank you once again for your assistance. You can ignore this request if you want. I earlier posted a quake and it's coodinates and wanted to show how close it was to the drilling. But now I want a different quake shown on the map. The lastest one, a 2.7 mag. When I look on Google Earth, it shows a fracking operation to the southeast. It's within 1 kilometer. Here's the quake. A simple shot of the epicenter, the pad, equiped with trucks and everything, and a simple line showing distance.

Boo1981 thank you as well. I almost forgot to show my appreciation.

From the report I just posted regarding mid-continental earthquakes.

"Now, new research from the University of Missouri suggests that inner-continental quakes such as China's may abide by a different set of rules than those that occur along plate boundaries."

This means the New Madrid Zone and Yellowstone and the surrounding mountains and fault act by their own rules and aren't like those occuring in California.

From the report,

"Along plate boundaries, small and moderate earthquakes that rupture along a particular fault lead to a build-up of stress along that same fault line, but mid-continent faults are connected to each other in a complex network, and a large earthquake along one fault will instead put pressure on a different fault."

This means that it's unlikely that the New Madrid will rupture in the same area. The larger quakes will migrate. So why is this important. It means that there is a connection between quakes in one area affecting the fault system of another at a much greater distance than geologists think. They believe that most activity is very local and contained with a particular fault. This means that earthquakes around these areas may be connected and this interaction is not understood. So. Earthquakes outside of Yellowstone have a relationship and can be putting stresses on the faults above the magma chamber. This means the earthquake in Arkansas my be destablizing a larger fault. Possibly under Memphis.

So if the Arkansas quakes are caused by fracking, this means the activity could have far reaching consequences. The deep well injection disposal is a known cause of earthquakes and there is injection in Arkansas. So fracking may be directly responsible for causing the next big quake in the Mississippi River area.

Remember that the New Madrid earthquake was not one quake. There were four. First starting in Arkansas and then migrate to the northeast. Coincidently, the trend of earthquakes near Guy, Arkansas, runs in the same direction. From the southwest up to the northeast.

So fracking is not a good idea.

They are fracking south of Yellowstone. The geologists have convinced everyone that what happens on one side of the mountains have very little to do with events on the farside. It looks like they might be wrong. It looks like quakes near Yellowstone can change things above the chamber.

So fracking is an insane idea.

Two more in the last hour or so in Arkansas. In the last 24 hours there have been 6 that are 2+ magnitude, and several smaller ones. So over a dozen quakes in a day.

Almost all of the quakes in the world in recent days has been completely normal. But what's happening in Arkansas is abnormal.

www.iris.edu...

Had to edit to say, and another one just after I finished this post. It's a bit bigger around 2.7 magnitude. That's three in the last hour.

And that is news? Not to me it isn't, and if isn't news to me then either I have read it somewhere or we came up with it on this or the Yellowstone thread. I believe actually it is the latter so the scientists has now caught up with us. Well about time.

Why do we ever bother with these people?

I know I have been saying that earthquakes trigger other ones events in seperate fault zones. The problem was that I couldn't find any research to back my claims. That's why I need them. It's why I need you. Happy Belated Valentine's Day. Scientists are for the most part, are archivists. Like you they collect the data and provide a valuable resource. We may debate their conclusions and even critique their methodology, but in the the end, they are often right. Where would we be without them? Certainly not communication on the internet, back and forth across the pond. One day I'l have to pinned you down and find out why you disagree with the plume theory and find out what you think is actually happening. But that must wait. Because the quakes near Guy Arkansas continue. And maybe be building up to a bigger event. Mark my words.

We may disagree on many things, and I'm not always sure where you stand, but when it comes to fracking and it's dangers, I believe we have a consensus.

Epicenter: Near Guy, Arkansas.
Fracking: .96km from epicenter.

In walking time. A few minutes.

I have to start a new thread. I am compelled to warn the people of Memphis Tennesee. And those living in the Mississippi River Valley. When a large quake hits, the ground will turn into a substance like quicksand. Liquidification. I am aware my efforts will be futile. But in every war there a futile battles you must fight.

Just to hold your ground.

Forgot to mention there was another 2.6 listed. In the last 24 hours there have been 5>2, and dozens of smaller ones. Someone can post the screen shot of the new webicorder page if they want.

I've started a new thread because I don't want to hi-jack this thread. But if you look at the Arkansas webicorders you will see lots of quakes to watch.

I felt compelled to start my first thread after being on this site for over two years. I need to warn the residents of the Mississippi River Valley that they are in real danger.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Please help me share my concerns. I'm basing my conclusions on the research.

So fracking is an insane idea.

Indeed! They doing a lot of fracking in Pennsylvania now, in the Marcellus shale formation.

The drillers are making it too lucrative for the landowners or the state government to refuse it. I think it may be too late to do anything now.
