I used to live in the area (Centerpoint, AL) that this 3.0 took place. Very urban area, absolutely no fracking there. I lived around this area for upwards of 15 years...I don't recall any earthquakes, unless they were small enough to not register or be on the news. Although it may not have been widely felt, I think at that location a 3.0 earthquake would definitely be news worthy to those that live in the area. Very odd...

You know you mentioned the river, which made me think of the Gulf of Mexico. I have a friend who is a geohazard expert who told me that he believes that the BP fiasco ruptured the sea floor and we have video of a subduction which was caught on tape when the ROVs were down there. He said he believes there will be a quake soon in that area.....There really WAS an earthquake in the gulf a few years ago.

I wonder if this could also be tied in with the flooding of the Ms river. The area there at Sicily Island is exactly that an island, and Natchez, MS and Vidalia were also flooded in Louisiana.

It's doing some weird stuff right now...jumped from 80 to 400 and back down again in a minute....the "straight line" suddenly went straight up and that's when the numbers changed.

Yes they were flooded.......it could be that, but Puterman said the one in Alabama looks like the same thing (if I got it right) I think you know more than I do about these things....I'm learning as I go

No I don't think I meant that but I am falling asleep here so maybe I did.

I have started gathering the seismograms for the whole of the TA array for today to see if this can be 'tracked' at all. Not sure if I will get them all as it is many and they will go after about 14 days.

Did you hear the sound today?

No....but I wasn't outside much. But it was so loud the first time I heard it, I was inside asleep and it woke me up. I have only heard it 3 times in the past few months. Did you listen to that video? It's pretty creepy

thinking there could be some connection! Here's thread and article on it...

www.abovetopsecret.com...

ETA: You know how I told you that when I heard it, the sound was coming from everywhere? Also, the title of my thread is "I finally recorded that sound in the SKY"....Well the report says resident said the noise seemed like it came from the sky...I'm about to leave for work.....catch you tomorrow and have a nice night!

Holy F'ing McFrishnicks Batman! Are you serious?!! Are those noises for real? I just watched that whole 15 minute long video with my mouth hanging open! What the heck is going on in the Ukraine?

"The noises sound like they are coming from the Earth but no seismic activity has been noted" I don't care where that noise is coming from I would have peed myself.

I did notice on some of them that the camera seemed to vibrate with the noise. If I see vibration in the footage wouldn't everything around vibrate?

Has this phenomenon every been reported with big quakes before?

Those "wierd noises" sound like a gas release. I used to live near the Trans Canada Pipeline. I've heard a massive gas release. It sounds like a horn at times. Like those South African horns during soccer.

Here's a fracking pad releasing gas.

Here's Faye Moore describing the bird kill in Arkansas. She said she heard a poof -whooshing noise.
Sounds like gas release.
video.ca.msn.com...

If moving faults can cause sandboils, then why can't moving faults cause gas to migrate and be released.
The gas companies are doing it.

We could use Batman right now!

When I recorded it the second time, I noticed the video was shaking like that and there was a "wavey" effect too. But I never felt an earthquake. Those sounds ARE soooo creepy...and no one knows what it is...

That's a possibility....however, the real mystery is that this sound or different versions of it are happening literally all over the world.

At least the echos are heard around the world. It could even be in the ocean and people are hearing it as it bounces off atmosphere.

Oh how I love to hear great minds thinking aloud!
Seriously though...I wonder if you are onto something here. I have never once thought the obvious. It is creepier to think it is coming from the "deep"!

I just posted in the other thread (Arkansas) we had a funny distant rumble to the east, and my lowest kitchen cabinet chattered at about 10:47 PM. Olney, Il had an earthquake at 10:20 PM. It is directly east of us in St. Louis.

I am sitting outside in norfolk va and the distant sky oscillation sound as i call it is quite obvious..because it is one of the only audible things about..the other is some crickets but its so quiet and still. Which is abnormal for my area..the usual activity and such is suddenly absent..even earlier in the day yesterday it had the same ghosttown feel and it was noonish. I live on a very busy road so the silence and stillness is obvious, plus the absence of vehicles is hard to ignore..the last time this was an event i noticed in the daytime..we had that earthquake. I have been personally noticing tremors beneath me for quite some time before the eq hit. I notice the solar activity and events effect me as well and its quite interesting to track this stuff. I am just going to end here for the moment since ive found myself nodding off a bit while typing..which i must say is nice since sleep was not wanting to happen for the past few days and i understand this can be a somewhat related thing. i am becoming more brave in discussing this stuff with people so i hope im not too out of place or some such.

HARVEST MOONBOW: This week's Harvest Moon was so bright, it did something normally reserved for the sun. It made a rainbow:

"I was surprised to see a rainbow at night," says Marsha Adams of Sedona, Arizona, who took the picture nearly 2 hours before sunrise on Sept. 13th. "The rainbow was apparently caused by the Harvest Moon beaming through the rain clouds."

Indeed, moonlight reflected by raindrops breaks into the colors of a rainbow just like sunlight does. It takes an especially bright Moon, however, to make the phenomenon visible to the human eye. Did anyone else spot a Harvest Moonbow? Submit your images here.
