They have been appearing and disappearing since yesterday. We are not sure if USGS is having issues, website overload, if they are punching each other over there, or if there is some sinister plot by them to keep us in the dark lol. But whatever it is we are aware of it and keeping an eye on it. They will probably return shortly only to disappear again soon afterwards.

Edit to add that they are still listed HERE for the moment.

Some may know me from my previous post, some may not. In brief, you'll know from the people that post responses to this post that I neither claim to predict earthquakes or try to instigate fear. I am simply delivering information.

As such, here is helpful information as of today, August 24, 2011:

Inside information about to be released from InSARS indicates a 25% likelihood of a major earthquake on the southern end of the San Andreas fault over the next 30 days.

That means that we have a 75% likelihood that it won't happen.

(It should be noted the percentage is usually about 2%, however long-term forecasts indicate a 99.7% likelihood by 2038).

Stay prepared.

Upstate NewYork just had a decent sized quake!

Watching it live in GEE....would guess a 4.0 to 4.5

Robin, thanks for guessing about my avatar...if you hadn't done that, Puterman wouldn't have sent me the picture with the correct format...in fact now that I think about it, that portion of the photo kinda resembled a tuning fork.

Keep up the good work and keep those theories rolling

Only place I can find a seismo showing this quake:

here (select NPNY and short period)

Oddly enough, website says the one I am watching live in GEE is out of service. Yeah. right.
