Agreed, i love our planet, but the way it is being run today.... well it is being run down the drain, and watching this video, started to think about whether or not i should do sumthing about it, then i realized i didnt want to be one of those "nut job" environmentalists

when it kinda hit me, have the government intentionally put a bad spin on all environmentalism and ecologist just like they have with UFO's so that when it is mentioned you are ridiculed?

Don't worry about what people think, follow your heart.

Murray, you hit the nail on the head. This is how TPTB have us.
Wisethinker - They don't have to provide facts as long as they know they can ruin your life by destroying your reputation. If the method isn't broke don't fix it.
wcitizen, what they are saying is one of many factors that no one actually examines when looking at the larger agenda conspiracy theories. It works on the ego from the point of view where it was first experienced - high school. This is what gives ridicule its power and why they won't do a darn thing about it at that level, They want you not only scarred but scared when there is nothing to be afraid of. And those that do the ridiculing are empty guns. Let them fire. They show their worth.
As for other planets - are there any as developed as ours? Can they support life? I know if you go by the UFO conspiracy theories you'd have to say yes, but if that is the case then why are they here? Don't we assume they depleted their supplies and come here to take ours? And if that is the case, then why are we destroying a fabulous commodity? I have no answers, just questions. One day I hope that changes, though I fear the worst because we on ATS speak of change, but if you watch the speak, do we really practice what we preach?

To tell you the truth I don't see beauty. I see machines doing as they evolved to do. Beauty to me has to be manmade, or in a human itself.

I don't understand why, after watching this video and realizing Earth's beauty, one would want to leave this planet. What if you boarded a UFO and couldn't find a new planet? Or if you did find a new planet, but it was in worse systematic condition than ours?
Wouldn't it make you want to restore its beauty by destroying society? Let's resolve our issues before abandoning them. I believe it begins with religion.

oops! mankind is the cancer.

I agree with you.
I always try telling people that the only reason we haven't found a cure for cancer is because we are cancer, and we haven't cured ourselves.
So now, TPTB are doing it for us...

That video is just a teaser. Made for just one purpose : to be commercial! And from that point it makes me angry, cause there is so much beauty on earth that I won't be able to see with mine own eyes. So, no I still wanna leave this place!!

I would much rather spend my time sitting beside a stream in a green meadow, than ever have anything to do with humans, so i fit in with this thread.

Of course most of us will never see what the world offers with our our eyes, but we can still see little things.

No, we are not the problem. Up to about 50 years ago we were doing pretty decent. Then we changed. We decided that production was the most important thing to do. To turn into a machine. That's what happened. Mankind hasn't been that bad overall. We just became decided to chose that life style. But we fix ourselves. Because we have brains. And thus it will all return to normal.

While everyone else is walking around, oblivious, I try to remind myself every day that I live on a really awesome planet, and not take it for granted.
It changes things when we don't ASSUME life, but have gratitude for it, for being included in it. I love our planet, it's wonderful.

The only problem in terms of the human realm, is the mass delusion and attachments born of selfishness, and fear.

If we would but evolve, spiritually or psychologically (same difference), then all would be well, but most people are just chicken, and unwilling to be transformed, lacking in courage.

There are cures for cancer, natural cures, but TPTB suppress them. There's an italian doctor who has been curing cancer with bicarbonate of soda for years, apparently. He has also been the victim of vicious attacks by TPTB and has been discredited as a licensed MD.

This planet is one in a trillion.. it's the unremarkable people that inhabit this planet, makes we want to go somewhere else.. we are just starting to realize the problems over population will bring.. imagine if you will the year 2110.. either science will make life better or we will be a planet of caniballistic zombies.

Abso-fricking-lutely.

It's not necessarily "the government", but simply all rich & powerful people in general who have made their fortunes by exploiting this planet and her resources.

Take the global warming issue:

People who actually understand what it's really about at a grass roots, i.e. not a political, level - recognize it is about promoting clean energy, sustainability, social responsibility and finding the optimum way to live in balance with nature.

However the principles of capitalism (which have now run completely amok) argue that the pursuit of profit ABOVE ALL ELSE is the "optimum" way to govern society - and therefore this is in direct conflict with those environmental ideals.

So the global warming issue has actually become corrupted to a large extent on both sides of the fence as a result.

On the one hand we have these political proponents who are proposing dicey solutions like cap & trade that still put profit before actual environmentalism. On the other side we have the extremist conservatives and fossil fuel apologists who have launched a massive disinformation campaign to convince the public that global warming is just a big hoax because it's about nothing but these corrupt tax schemes apparently, and clean renewable energy is just not "economically feasible". So anyone who tells you this is simply an "eco whack job" and blah blah blah - everybody just go back to shopping and consuming and working for the man and everything will be just fine.

Meanwhile the people who were preaching all those original principles of sustainability and social responsibility in the first place, are just being grouped in with all this political rhetoric and painted as religious eco-zealots who subscribe to "the Church of Gore" and can't see the truth because Al Gore apparently invented global warming now (even though the science behind it is actually OVER 100 years old).

So all this really shows is how brainwashed the people repeating these right wing talking points are, not the ones being targeted by them.

But it's particularly scary to think about though considering it's now conspiracy theorists that are regurgitating this mindless hyperbole MORE than anyone else. Conspiracy theorists are the ones who are supposed to be more aware than all the supposed sheep, but they've actually managed to become the biggest puppets out there.

I WOULD LEAVE. Its not the planet, its the people on it that ruins it. And I thought Earth's real name was Gaia?

Thanks for the video its very nice to see. But most of us don't live in these areas or ever see them, and if we did it wouldn't stay that way for long.

Yes, I think you are right.

I think it's a money and power thing. Some people just can not handle that they can't control everything. It is so sad, because they are missing out on so much.
