I would pay close attention to your dreams instead. For a close relative, I believe they generally would make their intentions known very clearly in
your dreams.
The only thing I can think of to do with pennies is
a) the Rhyme
See a Penny
Pick it up
and all day
You'll have good luck
and
b) The fact that people used to put a penny on each eye of a recently deceased person so that they could afford to pay the ferryman to take them to
the afterlife, across the river Styx I presume

Anyone know if there is a meaning behind finding Pennies?
Just the old superstition about luck:
*Find a penny (with the face side up) and it's good luck. Pick it up.
*Find a penny (with the tail's side up) and it's bad luck if you pick it up.
You should turn it over to the face side and leave it for the next person to pick up.

I throw handfulls of pennys into school yards and leave quarters, nickles and dimes in weird places that only kids would look. As a kid when I found
money it always lifted my spirits from a normally dismal childhood.
Had a friend who was a chronic homeless wino and surfer from the 60’s. His name was Dan Deering.
I was a surfer too, although not of his generation. I would cross Dan's path from time to time at the various breaks in North San Diego County,
California.
He was a gifted story teller, and always ready to take me back in time to the 60’s. It was a period when surfers were part of a subculture, almost
like outlaw bikers. His role model was a guy by the name of Butch Van Artsdalen.
Dan overdosed on Mexican heroin about 15 years ago.
I still frequent the same surf breaks, and I believe Dan does as well.
You see I’m always finding copper pennies ( 1962 D, 1969 D, etc. ) at our old haunts. I refer to them as "lucky Deerings" and the circumstances
under which they’re found are beyond the probabilities of coincidence.
Just the other day I called my girlfriend and told her that I had some good news and some bad news. The good news was that I had just robbed a bank
and made it without being caught. The bad news was I had only gotten away with a penny.
You see while I was conducting my transaction with the bank teller I noticed there was a penny on the counter between the two of us. When the teller
looked away I grabbed it.
After making my way out of the bank around a corner and down an alley to a spot Dan could often be found, I took the loot out of my pocket and to my
surprise it was a lucky 1959 D.

1981 and older pennies are pure copper (with exception to the steel ones but those are extremely rare)
I have been collecting 1981 and older pennies for many years now. They add up to a few hundred pounds of pure copper. To bad other people thought of
this as well and they have been screening pennies also to pull the precious metal (though not extremely precious) still worth more than a penny!
The reason you find pennies, is becuase you look for them.
Most of the other contributors on the thread covered the bases I wanted to - finding a penny heads up is good luck, etc.
The only one I can think of that hasn't been covered is putting the penny in your left shoe to gain you love and close your eyes and toss it over your
left shoulder to gain you money.
Seasoul I just had to comment on your post. It's one of the best stories I've read on ATS in a long time 'Lucky Deering's' - very cool!
If you've not thought about joining the Writers part of the forum I wish you'd think
about it and give us more recounts like this one. You can U2U one of the Mods - (Masqua) and get writer's status and then begin to share your
stories.
Thanks tons!

When I was researching into After Death Communications, I came across an article from someone who believed that there was something akin to "Pennies
from Heaven" and described, after her mother had passed away, many incidents of finding pennies in odd places, and the date on the coin and the
location being relevant to her and her mom. At the time, it seemed a little goofy to me, but I guess that you never know. I can't find that
particular article any longer, but here's a similar thread:

Clarification
You know it’s like when you’re walking down the street, and somebody smiles at you. That smile, that unconditional expression of love just sends a
jolt of encouraging energy straight to the heart.
Compassionate comments seem to work in the very same way. A thousand thanks for your kind remark, silo13.
I hope to share more on ATS and possibly make a positive difference in people's lives. Like whaaa put it, “payin it forward.”
Have a beautiful day!

Thank you all that replied. I really appreciate the feedback. I'll have to ask if they still kept the penny's they found and if the dates are the
same. That would be a very weird coincidence.
And seasoul, I want to thank you for sharing that. As someone suggested, you should look into being a Writer here.
