going to have to agree.. there are alot of research bases there for many countries and have not found anything. Last i heard they were takeing core samples of previouse life in microbs found in the deep ice but that was it

Do you realise how big Antarctica is? They could have thousands of research facilities there and not even cover 5% of the land mass. I would figure this stuff to be pretty deep into the land. I also cant say that i agree with the whole theory, just cant be dismissed on the grounds that "there are research bases there." Theres also oil rigs in the ocean yet we have only explored like 1% of it, kinda like theres satellites in space, ok you get the point.

Fair comment. At the same time, on the balance of probability; what do you believe?

Has a century of Antarctic research by opposing nations somehow overlooked a dimensional gateway? Have they took us to the brink of nuclear Armageddon (Cold War) and yet shared the secret of an alien world in a hollow Earth? Is it possible that the secret of a hole in Antarctica has been leaked to a few fringe websites?

Or is it probable that there's no hole there, dimensional or otherwise, and that the entire story was made up?

If you are up for some exploration Google earth has a strip of higher res images from Antarctica. Just so ya'll know.

I love this topic.....wish there was more seriousness given to exploring Antarctica.

Someone can hopefully help me with the following....

A couple years ago, wasnt there a story of a scientists that saw a vortex appearing in the sky above the south pole...he then got a weather baloon or something similar and let it go up into the sky into the vortex where it disappeared...thing is he had a rope tied to it so it was always there just not visually, and no, it wasnt because of the snow that he couldnt see it.

maybe that is tied into this...Ill have to research this some more.

Antarctic Time Warp Discovery

The discovery of a time anomaly in the Antarctic - reported in Pravda yesterday - dates back eight years. Nevertheless, I find it highly interesting that such a discovery was made and that we have heard little or nothing about it in the Western press.

The time anomaly is not the only unexplained discovery in the Antarctic. In April 2001, a spy satellite image apparently located a man made structure under two miles of ice there. The military was less than forthcoming about this discovery, and many will remember a rather strange emergency medical evacuation during the antarctic winter in 2001. This may be connected with a huge lake and corresponding magnetic anomaly discovered under the eastern part of the Antarctic close to - actually right under - the Russian Vostok base there.

I dont know how reliable Pravda is as a source.

This is the story I was mentioning...read the link, heres an exerpt below-

Eight years ago, American and British scientists who conducted investigations in Antarctica made a sensational discovery. US physicist Mariann McLein told the researchers noticed some spinning gray fog in the sky over the pole on January 27 which they believed to be just ordinary sandstorm. However, the gray fog did not change the form and did not move in the course of time. The researchers decided to investigate the phenomenon and launched a weather balloon with equipment capable to register the wind speed, the temperature and the air moisture. But the weather balloon soared upwards and immediately disappeared. In a little while, the researchers brought the weather balloon back to the ground with the help of a rope attached to it before. They were extremely surprised to see that a chronometer set in the weather balloon displayed the date of January 27, 1965, the same day 30 years ago. The experiment was repeated several times after the researchers found out the equipment was in good repair. But each time the watch was back it displayed the past time. The phenomenon was called "the time gate" and was reported to the White House.

Hoepfully someone else can substantiate the sources....I heard this from several different sources quiete a few years ago now but nothing recently.

Well those microbes in the deep ice or from Lake Vostok a fresh water lake that is not frozen even though it is deep beneath the ice. In fact core samples form there show the ice history of Earth for the last 415,000 years. The last time that lake was on the surface was 420,000 years ago...

Here is what the chart from the ice cores at Vostok show us... I would recommend buying warm clothes blankets and firewood

Now one of the biggest thing shown in the NAVY film was the discovery of open warm water lakes that they landed in and were 38 degrees, fresh water. I have not found those yet but I did find something similar. Will post that shortly

So according to Vostok Ice Core samples the climate cycle on Earth shows a short warm period followed by a long triple drop cold period... It also shows that the change is a steep grade, so it happens quickly. And you can see where we are on the recent warm spell...

Interesting... didn't have that yet but it ties in with something else I was following...

First is the fact that RAYTHEON runs McMurdo Station... yawl know who they are right?

Well the coolest thing... when we started looking into it we came across PEGASUS field... Now how is that for coincidence? Well it seems they have done some major weirdness making the runway at Pegasus strong enough to hold the big C-5 Galaxy transports. Pegasus field is just frozen ice... no land below

A few weeks ago, the electrical crew brought out the runway lights to Pegasus field. These lights were purchased a few years ago by SPAWAR, the Navy branch which ultimately oversees ATS's runway and weather operations.

The certification marks an important improvement in the U.S. Antarctic Program's (USAP) ability to support science research for the National Science Foundation on Earth's southernmost continent. A U.S. Air Force C-141 Starlifter cargo plane landed safely on the compacted snow pavement of the existing Pegasus runway near the USAP's logistical hub at McMurdo on Jan. 29 (local time).

The newly developed compaction process protects the runway from sun damage while having the structural strength necessary to withstand the stresses imposed by the landing of large aircraft such as the C-5 Galaxy, one of the world's largest aircraft; the C-17 Globemaster, the newest air force cargo plane; and the older C-141s.

The immediate purpose of the Snow Cruiser, however, as part of the U. S. Antarctic Service under Admiral Byrd's command, is to speed up exploration work and scientific investigation as well as to claim the continent as a United States possession by maintaining colonies there for three years as required by international agreement. Assisted by a five-passenger airplane, it is believed that the Snow Cruiser will add as much to the knowledge of the South Polar regions in two or three months as all previous expeditions combined. This plane, along with others, is expected to map most of the South Polar Continent by means of aerial cameras. The Snow Cruiser, world's newest and largest automobile, has almost nothing in common with conventional cars except that it runs on four pneumatic tires, but even this comparison is not exact because the tires are so large and soft that a spring suspension is unnecessary. Unlike an ordinary car, it has two engines instead of one, four-wheel drive, four-wheel steering by two levers instead of a steering wheel, two accelerator pedals, two brake pedals, a builtin hydraulic jack on each wheel, enough Diesel fuel for a 5000-mile run (2500 gallons), 1000 gallons of airplane gasoline, bunks for four men and food for a year.

Hydraulic jacks built into kingpin assemblies lifted body (right) permitting it to be to allow vehicle to be blocked up with timbers. Then wheels were lifted by jacks and timbers placed under wheels. By this method a plank road was constructed to allow vehicle to be backed onto highway.

The Snow Cruiser was built in three months by the Research Foundation of Armour Institute of Technology which owns the ship. Great new info, and look forward to more. I have read pretty extensively on this particular subject and am not convinced but anything to sway this UFO/Alien believer is welcomed. Just tired of the BS stuff that is becoming de rigeur.

I can link you to a guy who's seen the erased pencil co-ordinates in the diary with his own eyes. If I find a gif of the page, I'll add it later. It's out there somewhere, because it was in the glossy photo section of a book on Byrd. Whatever...

Late the next morning, at DR's request, Goerler drove Ted and DR over to the archives to look at the 1926 diary. When it was brought out, I touched it with the reverence it was due: a book that had physically own deep into the Arctic 1925­1926 (pre­Lindbergh) and then (in 1927) across the Atlantic (soon after Lindbergh)back in a day when almost no one else had the guts to do it.

Within a few minutes, we happened onto p.11 of the diary (our Fig.5 = D 11 = G 84), and my eye caught the time 7:07:10 Greenwich Civil Time written there. Recalling it as the exact time of one of the 1926 sights reported to National Geographic, I excitedly burst out that this was no practice calculation.

We squinted to read the nearly­ erased solar altitude, 192503000 — and I leapt upon a copy of Byrd's typed report to NGS that was sitting just to the left of the diary and feverishly fingered through the pages until finding the 7:07:10 GCT solar altitude in the offcial report.

There it was: 181801800 — a completely different figure. I instantly learned how the expression 'my­ skin­ froze' came to be. From this time, the Byrd claim was irreversibly doomed. The attendant calculations for both figures showed that there was no misprint: the enormous discrepancy was real. At that unforgettable moment, I knew that this was the definitive end to the Byrd 1926 claim.

He's all excited because the diary would mean that Amunsden was the rightful first guy to get there. On ATS we get involved in the schemes of weirdness and sometimes the 'cover ups' are just national pride trying to lay claim to that which isn't theirs.

Byrd got pretty close and remains a legend whether he got there or not.

Ask yourself this

1.
Why no current unaltered satellite images of the poles? I mean come on, we watch the Space Station rotate around the earth with clear high definition video footage on NASA TV all the time! We have sent craft to Mars that take high resolution images on surface and orbiting almost daily for 3 years.

How then can it be - we have no direct images - high definition of our poles. When you do a search for pole images - there always seems to be a glitch - pixel anomaly or graphic alteration where this entrance would be.

And what about the pole anomaly on Saturn at the poles that we all saw.

Why is it that there have been no current expeditions directly to the poles - independent or otherwise? I know of one public expedition - but that has been trying to get money/donations for years and never went anywhere. That particular expedition has been in the planning for so long - its originator passed away. So why? Red Tape - Lack of Funding?

Why is it a network can't create a reality show - Search for the pole opening or quest to find Middle Earth?
We have Gold Rush, Great Race, Anthony Bourdain, Bizarre Foods, Survivor Man. They expend all these resources for a show based on Worldwide travel, but never anything to the poles - you know - just to see what is there. Why hasn't Josh Gates and Destination Truth ever investigated this opening claim? Really!

Are you telling me people wouldn't be glued every week watching an expedition to the pole opening? There is a reason for that! There is obviously a Worldwide "no access" law that prohibits travel to the specific pole points of interest!

As far as there being no images of the South Pole? Google image search 'Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station.' The base it situated at the South Pole.

This is an interesting video but it seems like I have seen a photo like this before, recently. They labeled it as some sort of storm but not exactly sure.
