Islam

Islam is a valid religion, like many others, but with outmoded practices! Why should Westerners have to put up with this Medieval nonsense on their doorstep! These Imams [who think they're God] and are no better than the Pope, who thinks he's infallible, attempt to justify their existence, by radicalising young, vulnerable and highly impressionable youth? They sow the seeds of hatred and discord! Where there should be Harmony and Peace!

Why do you care what other people do in their own countries? Is it your job to play world police and tell people what they can and cant do in their sovereign states? Or should America invade all Muslim nations by force and start blowing stuff up? Oh, wait...

Or are you talking about the Muslims in the USA? If so.. ya ever heard of "freedom of religion"?

Furthermore, if you knew anything about Islam you would know that Imams never would say that they are God, or that God is speaking through them. That is the WORST sin, in Islam (idalotry/shirk). Only the Ayatollah in the Shia religion claims to be speaking for God (ayatollah means "sign of God"). But Shias are a small minority and a strange form of Islam, more like Catholicism is a strange form of Christianity.

I agree, I don't know everything about Islam... But I know it has as many divisions within it as Christianity! There are good and bad Christians...Agreed! But there are also good and bad Muslims! It seems to me that there are more self righteous Muslims out there, who aren't very tolerant of other beliefs! Hence, your expression 'if you knew anything about Islam'! Well! I know a bit about it! I know the Suffis' are your revered and Holy Men, who don't condone violence! I know Allah never condoned violence and was compassionate towards all peoples! And as for Catholicism! Yes! You're right, We are a funny breed of Christianity! But that's another story?

OP you are 100% correct. However the same could be said by all organised religions. The extremist muslim (note I said extremist not moderate or non practicing) element is pretty much the biggest terror threat in the world today! They create chaos in countries they move to. They just don't want to assimilate. Every single moderate & non practicing Muslim I have offered a hand of friendship to have reciprocated & participate in their new society well & actually contribute!. Others who are way too much into their religion don't want to know anybody outside their own community they do not want to fit in! They are trash! The sooner Islamic extremists are gone from the world the better!

Sufi's aren't revered. They are analogous to Southern Baptists. Literally. They even speak in tongues and stuff. LOL

Some sufis are revered. Some are not. Some were violent. Some were not.
They have some great music and art, though . Of course, they also have some horrible music and art .

It is interesting that the OP compares Imams to the pope. Thing is, unlike Catholicism, Islam doesn't have a hierarchical leadership structure- there are no "priests" then "superpriests" and "top priestman". In fact, the "imam" in Islam is not really comparable to a Priest in Christianity at all! The ONLY job of the Imam is to lead the prayer in the mosque. This means that they're the dudes who stand in front of everyone else, and do the actions and say the words that everybody else is supposed to follow.
