There was another thread on this, pointing to many more cables being censored too. I looked at one of the "Tel Aviv" cables and it is interesting, to say the least. It talks about what would appear to be an effort by the Mossad to work with minority groups in Iran towards regime change, what we would consider to be a coup d'etat. Also, some questionable practices conducted by both Israel and the US could be gleaned from these censored cables.

As I have been saying for a while now, it appears as if WL isn't what TPTB would have us think it is. The extent to which this is true, I'm not so sure yet, though if I had to bet money on it, I would say that extent is great. There is a war going on for the minds of the masses and WL seems to be a very shrewed move on the part of TPTB.

Think about it, if WL itself doesn;t have any intentions of spreading disinfo, what would stop authorities from using WL to spread disinfo? Furthermore, if the Mossad and CIA can infiltrate foreign governments and terrorist cells, why would they also not be able to infiltrate WL, an organization that doesn;t have the resources or structure to guard against such an infiltration. In fact, the organization begs to be infiltrated, seeing how volunteers are used. So, at the very least, WL is probably being both infiltrated by intelligence agencies and being "leaked" disinfo, while at the most, WL whole purpose is to spread disinfo. Either way, I think it pretty much goes without saying that the organization and any information coming out of the organization, shouldn't be trusted. It would be extremely odd if the governments of certain countries weren't exploiting WL, at the very least.

Thanks for sharing, S&F!

It's my view that what's in wikileaks documents is not what's important. What's important is the idea of wikileaks, and the ideals of holding governments accountable to their own citizens and to the peoples of the world.

The idea is what is powerful, and as such, even if WL is a face of tptb, it can be transformative. TPTB may end up being their own worst enemy.

I definitely agree with you on that. I have to say I would be a little disappointed if WL was a face of TPTB, and somehow I doubt that, and I would have to question why they would do this?

The content of some of the cables IS important as it gives an insight into the number of pies the US gubbermint has it's fingers into and what it thinks about some of its so called allies.

It is not sufficient to depend on the papers like the Guardian to pick out the 'juicy' bits since what they call 'juicy' and what I call 'juicy' are two very different things.

Using my program you can search on a word or a phrase and that provides more details than anything the British papers can come up with, in fact they probably need my program as well to help them find the details!!!

Get it at 4shared

Well you will either be pleased or disappointed to learn that today all the 'missing' cables returned - at least on wikileaks.lu anyway.

I have updated the downloaded program further and you can now search for a word in the cable and can export the cable to an RTF file and optionally load it into your word processor.

There is still one curious thing however, the files that get released daily are not always only in the day of release. I don't know why that is but you can catch them all with the downloader program. (See my signature)

This cable is about USA giving mossad $30bil usd over a 10 year period 2008-2018.
While i watch the USA become a second rate country its very sad to see this money going to mossad instead of feeding and clothing the mass' in your own back yard.

A friend just confirmed me through IRC this is in fact related to the automated generation/release of the page / content (they seem kidda busy, but it's soon xmas for them to .) . I also wrote an e-mail prior to the IRC conversation to a guardian journalist, i hope i'll get the answer soon to publish it here (if he's ok with that).
But nevertheless is good to keep an eye on all of this.
As you said the cables.zip is a good way to see what went lost due to all of this.

Sorry again for my bad first response to your OP.

Here is also a good link to keep track of the up-to-date-ness of the mirrors:

wikimirrors.piratskapartija.com...

The first entry:

www.mein-parteibuch.org.nyud.net... - 1994 cables

is a bit wierd as it is most of the time not reachable - and beeing a content mirror from the first day on i only have

(root@delpes)-(/var/www/cable) $ ls -R | grep '.html' | wc -l
1828 cables

(even if wikileaks should have removed some cables from their list the update i do will leave the 'orphaned' cables on the servers harddrive)

Haven't been able to check the background of the mein-parteibuch.org page as it is most of the time unreachable (504, or 305 error) and i'm currently busy finishing a project

I wonder if you could come over here Cableleaks and help out with a bit of explaining on the redactions of cables?

Tried to send a message but it won't let me as I haven't made 20 posts.

Many thanks.
