Untill I see it on the hardware store shelf, I'll give this claim about as much credit as Alex Chiu's immortality rings. It's just too extremely good to be true.

Damn, I'm not gonna wait that long. I'm signing up for the testprogram right now.

Last monday I've send the following e-mail to Michael J. Brady, the inventor of the magnetic engine

Dear Sir,
I've heard about your great invention and I would like to sign up as a volunteer for a (near-)future testprogram.
If you need some more people just let me know. I'm glad to be of hand!!

Kind Regards,

This morning I found the following reply from in my mailbox:

We have completed the testing and are ready to go to market, the cost of the unit will be 8500 euro complete without the shipping costs.

Mike Brady

Bumber. Seems like I'm too late. I was hoping they could place it right into my old Volvo
Oh well, I'm still anxious to see what will happen next.

Point of curiosity: did anyone see the movie on their site with the "real prototype" working? The only thing I've been able to load are the rendered autocad drawings. Autocad drawings are nice, but don't prove a thing.

I to emailed him and got 3 responses in total.

The motor would cost about 8500 Euro complete without shipping.

And..

We looking at 2 months, big market launch
Mike Brady

And...

Product should run without problems for at least 15 years
Mike Brady

I remain sceptical of course, as I do with anything that sounds to good to be true, but this does sound promising.

*edit*
Emails were dated this month, between the 14th to the 15th of July, 2004

Just thought i'd post an update.

No we are launching in South Africa at the Kyalami Castle, we will look at another launch in Europe but at this time cannot give you a date.

So, anyone up for a roadtrip to South africa?

hehe
I wouldn't mind going to see this device when it shows.

I've seen the actual machine running in a video that isn't on the official site. It does not prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that it works, however after watching it closely it would be hard for the inventor to crank the machine up to the RPM it was at without having a secondary machine to do it. A walk around occurs after the stabilizers are disengaged and there is no apparent outside intervention. Ofcourse a new video with the machine in operation with a walk around would put many doubts to rest(not all however).

Well there ya go... you said it... This isnt possible (yet?).

How do you get free energy from nothing? You don't. This concept is the same as many "Perpetual Motion Machines" that are all scams/fakes/tricks. Almost all of these 'machines' require magnets to run as well.

Unless these guys have tapped into a new form of physics or are able to change the current laws of physics, dont bet on it. And DONT SEND YOUR MONEY TO THEM!!!

This 'invention' shows up periodically all the time...

keep open minded some of the law of physics are still theories and aren't proven if right so they may be wrong and you or I might invent something which may change the law of physics.

Believe me, Im all for new science/physics and inventions. I just think this is a little to far of leap right now. If this is a legit device and could be done, im all for it!

And just incase anyone interested in physics/quantum/space stuff hasnt seen this PBS show, go watch it now! It's broken into nice short chapers and explained well!

The Elegant Universe... Black Holes, SuperStrings, Quantam Physics, Wormholes

I am kidding you all not. A couple of years back I developed an idea to use magnets for power in automobiles, and from what I have researched I think my idea may have worked.

I think I just missed out on the opportunity to become a millionaire....

Not wrong, just incomplete, as Einstein prooved.

I hope this is'nt a hoax if their ever was a time that humanity needed to move forward it is now. I would like to see the enfluence that these energy cartells exert on governments gone and enviormental issues given more priority. Just think clean free energy. I guess a lot of big wiggs will fight this one Germany good luck Hummmmm! I wonder why every news outlet is'nt giving this invention front page coverage. Something wants to keep this under the rug , so to speak!

So couldn't someone just email cnn or some other news source and have them know about it? They would want to buy one and test it out themselves. Plus the fact that they can get credible people there to try it out.

Here is a link for anyone looking for information on how this might be possible: www.distinti.com...

If this is ever proven to be true I will certainly buy one. But only once it is proven. The fact that there is a place to connect an external device leaves me skeptical because that side was not shown while the device was spinning at full speed.

As for the "laws of physics" I don't put much faith in them considering our level of science when these were written. Look at our own sun. All kinds of idea float around about how this is supposed to operate and what the life cycle of the star is. How is it possible for something to put out energy for such a long period fo time. I think they are all cute stories from people who really don't know. So much is done to try and cover for our "laws" instead of simply ignoring them and trying to come up with something new and better.

It is true, many of our laws are old and antiquated, established before newer methods of observation were invented. One such example would be the laws of Thermodynamics, which are in desperate need of updating and refining.

I would like to make a note about magnets. Saying that work cannot be extracted from them is ridiculous, they do work all the time, put a magnet on the side of a refrigerator and low and behold it defys gravity! The problem is how to extract that work without have to put other work in to seperate the magnet(s) for each other or the material, if control can established then it is possible to extract energy. Electromagnets are the exemplification of control, however they require energy(in the form of electricity) to be used. Remember there are more than one force at work in these magnetic engines, both Magnetism and Gravity play a role.
