I just thought this was incredibly interesting as Assange was the clear winner in the reader's poll, and Zuckerberg finished...wait for it...10th. While I certainly have no evidence to backup any claims, I think it is intriguing that the editor's version strayed so far from their readers. I wouldn't be surprised if Uncle Sam exerted some pressure, but that is pure speculation on my part.

Yeah I was pissed off at this as well. TIME is all but irrelevant at this point but it's a kick in the balls to not give it to Assange for what he's done and continues to do regardless of the trouble it puts him in. Maybe 2 years ago Suckerburg would deserve it but not this year, I mean come on.

I completely agree. Judging from the readers, Zuckerberg wasn't even close to as relevant as Assange was, and their poll positions show it. That is why I have to think that either; a) they were influenced by the government directly, or b) were indirectly influenced by the government by fearing that ring of anti-patriotism would be hung around their neck in public. In short, I simply think it's absolutely ludicrous that Zuckerberg got it. Faceyspace has been around for awhile, but they finally do a movie and he's the POY? Gimme a break.
