Me, I carry the Leatherman Surge.

I've been carrying Leathermen since I first found out about them when I was in the Army. I still have my original one with the lifetime gaurantee.

I always have to have the top of the line one and, for now, this one is it. There's not much you can't do with this baby; its like having a whole toolbelt at all times.

I don't leave home without this baby.

As an islander, and being from a country where firearms are almost non-existent, except for about a dozen wild guns cycled through local gangsters and those used by the Police and Riots Unit (our equivalent of a military although nothing as close), knives are the best we have for defense and they're also great tools. I've got a small Diving knife, from Saeko Dive I believe. It's about 16-17 cm long, that's about 6-7 inches long, the blade is half the length and it's very sharp. The upper back of the blade is dented like a saw and the lower part has a small but super-sharp groove for cutting wires or algae in the sea. Plus it's very comfortable to wield. I'd suggest you try one. There are bigger versions too. They're good for anything from close-combat to surviving in a forest or the sea. Or really anything requiring cutting, sawing or chopping and such

My EDC is the Benchmade Griptilian I also love my Adamas while on the heavy side. I am getting into Chris Reeves knives at the present, I own the fixed blades but am going to purchase a folder because of the quality.

I use a smith and Wesson m&p knife, it has a straight blade, serrated as well, a lock so it doesn't open, and the metal point on the handle to break glass if ever needed. I have carried mine for over . Years and I love it! model number swmp3bs

Cold Steel Voyager, clip point, fully serrated.

They discontinued the fully serrated clip point, and I've been searching for another. May just go with a plain blade on the next one, I don't much care for the serrated ones they produce anymore (I don't like the curvature of the blade).

Has anyone considered a sword. You could use it for many uses. Cutting meat, Cutting wood, Defense, haircuts, Spearing fish, opening cans, signaling, chopping lettuce and cutting fruits and vegetables like gallager.

I have a CRKT M21-12G. Excellent knife!! The assisted opening mechanism is lightning fast, and the blade lock is very innovative. Got mine for around 35 bucks off an always ridiculously marked up tool truck. Had it for 2 years and never had to sharpen it. Most of the knives I've owned have gotten lost, so having this one so long is quite rare. Gerber knives are also very nice!!

Good ol' Buck 110. Nothing beats it. Nothing! Best pocket knife ever made. Mines older then most of the people on these forums. Used it as every kind of tool you can imagine. From a hammer to a scalpel. Opens cans great too.

Nice, I need a new knife. Just gave the girlfriend my Benchmade.

I think I'm either going to pick up another Emerson CQC7 (favorite knife I've owned but I somehow lost it). Perfect size blade, blade is nice and thick, stayed sharp, spring assist and loved the scales. I think they're a little over $200. There seems to be quite a following.

I might look into another Benchmade, but the one I had was a pain in the ass to open quickly (sat in the pocket the wrong way so you had to fish it out to get the thumb screw). It's a nice knife though otherwise.

Kershaw makes some good stuff too. Had one of those for awhile.

Annnnd I'm heading over to Amazon.

I'm still amazed how often a knife comes in handy.

As far as my daily carry, I have a kershaw speed bump. It is a spring assist knife that has a safety switch. Take the safety off and it opens almost just by looking at it.

I love this knife.

i have two, the one i carry in my pocket most of the time and have had it for 35 years is a plain simple case sod buster jr,
cuts just about anything i try to cut with it with in reason. it also stays sharp and can cut you from ahole to belly button before you know it. it's not big at all and has got me out of situations a couple of times.

the other is a tree brand my dad gave me when i was 10, again not a big knife has two blade and is just as sharp as the day i got it. don't need any thing more for my pocket.

now in my pack and other gear i have a multitude of different knives, and multitools. none of these new newfangled ones though, just plain janes. they do the same as the others and don't cost near as much. i must say i love my k bars
