Huh, well, it seems that I somehow replied to a fusion of the two OPs in different threads. This is getting to be confusing with the
same-author-different-thread thing...
Evolution ain't trying to replace religion. Like I've said a thousand (well, more than three) times, it doesn't care about religion. The only reason
that science and religion have any argument is that while Science goes around answering cause and mechanism through logical interpretation of
evidence, and Philosophy exists to ponder reason through abstract... well, reasoning... Religion, which is primarily a form of philosophy, has started
to push their answer to "why" onto our turf, and saying that "how" is not so because "why" overrules.
Which is unfriendly, really. Naturally, we (those whose interest is science rather than philosophy - and let's not go calling one or the other
childish, because that is just elitist and elitism I can talk about all day and all night, too).
