Leaked document shows EPA allowed bee-toxic pesticide despite own scientists' red flags

www.grist.org

It's not just the State and Defense departments that are reeling this month from leaked documents. The Environmental Protection Agency now has some explaining to do, too. In place of dodgy dealings with foreign leaders, this case involves the German agrichemical giant Bayer; a pesticide with an unpronounceable name, clothianidin; and an insect species crucial to food production (as well as a food producer itself), the honeybee.

It just makes me sick to read this article. If you know why we are having huge bee losses and do nothing to stop it just who is the EPA working for exactly? Do they work for the public good or corporate interest solely?

The EPA has allowed in this case a situation to grow out of some true corruption in the agency in my opinion. The complicit parties should be outed and removed from public service. This is why we need leaks. We need to know this stuff.

The Government is owned and controled by big business...
It's far more profitable than listening to voters/tax payers..

That extends to wars..There is money for business in war..

The bee story is one of the most important issues of our time. The general lets follow 'Global Warming' has taken our eye off of the real issues which need money and enforcement. The protection of the bees against the likes of Bayer and possibly GMO is one of the most important. No bees = no food = no humans.

My father was a bee keeper. I grew up with bee interests so I know that God gave us the bee to provide the bounty of nature for our table. I address this issue as one of a sacred common trust to all conscious humans. We depend on nature for our survival. If anyone gets in the way of our survival they are in a life forfeit position IMHO. This is a serious consideration. We are going to all die if we do not reign in big corporations. They are planet wide ruinous agents at work here.

The problem is clearly that the protector of the public good is in the pocket of the big corporations it is designed to police. What do we do now that the public trust is broken? That is the pertinent question I think.

i genuinly cannot get my head round this.
bees and pollinating insects are well to put it lightly the first step on our eco/food chain. without them were well toast.
we cannot pollinate all these plants ourselves.
seriously what does this gain the epa ?
or bayer for that matter. a quik buck at the expense of the human race.
there is no profit worth that cost.
i consider myself to be quite knowlagable on plants and genral horticulture and this has rocked me to my foundations.
can any one tell me if the uk is using this chemical?
bee population decline is an almost globlal problem. and one of the biggest problems we as a flowering/polinating plant producing speices face.
id like to see a list of countrys that use this or simmelar pesticides and compare it with the records of bee population drop in those corisponding countrys
ok im officaly freaked out. why would an organisation in place to stop such catastrophic mistakes happening do this. it cant just be money if we all die off there isnt gonna be money. there would be global panic . violence and ultimatly chaos if our "core" crops started to fail.
the usa has one of the largest stores of corn and grain in the world. its used world over for humanitarian relife when thers a disaster or famine.
another question are all crops being sprayed with this? is that crop then going into the populace or being exported? is it damaging to humans via the harvested crop?

can anyone say population controll. if this damages humans and the crop is then exported to third world dissaster zones well need i say more.

i may have rammbled a little there sorry folks my mind was racing with what ifs and i just went with it

genuinly a shockng report this has to be stopped asap. there are natural ways to defend against pests without the use of damaging chemicals . but there is no profit in something the farmer can produce himself is there.

on last question do farmers have the choice on whether they have this substance placed on there crops or are they told his is on ur seed and will be sprayed (or otherwise be put) upon your crop.?

there real is something wrong with this palnet and us as a spieces. mayby its better we are wiped out before we spread like a cancer throught hte solar system and destroy countless other worlds.
im loosing faith.

edit to include: my membership on ats was origonaly just to disscus theorys and investigate "out there" consiricys and the like. a light hearted way to find out what people thought.
but out of this site there occasionaly comes a thread the world should sit up and take note of.
i believe this is one of those threads. thank you for bringing this to the attention of all members.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. It is extremely important that people are alerted to this, and quickly. We need to act on this bee problem NOW. We have to make our voices heard on this subject. I can't begin to try and put myself in the position of that spokesperson for the EPA... How could you play that role and sleep at night without being a soulless machine. How could you live with yourself? The level of ignorance here is astounding. Ignorant or just plain evil. Twisted for profit.

Ban clothianidin NOW.

Hold the so called "Environmental Protection Agency's" feet to flame and make sure the feel the heat! If we can't do that, then we are truly submissive automatons worthy of the fate we have bestowed ourselves in the fabrication of this gold-plated guillotine.

Monsanto and others in the GM crowd have had bees on their hit list for some time, they are competition to there self deceived ownership of plant reproduction. There are a lot of tainted studies going a long way back acknowledging this: www.bibliotecapleyades.net...

Just like James Hardy with asbestos, they are going to run away and deny it with their profits while the body bags pile up. I am really at a loss when the media labels a messenger of truth a terrorist, while those responsible for the fear, pain and death are rewarded. Feels like I am already preaching to the converted on the website...

This is a REAL and dangerous conspiracy which appears to have been carefully calculated, and ongoing for some time (with the expression 'some time' being quite possibly the grandest of understatements).

An interesting correlation with Biblical prophecy, concerning the cost of staple food supplies in the 'End Times', which would certainly be upon us if the global supplies of core staple crops began to fail:

Revelation 6:

5 - When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. 6 - Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds of barley for a day’s wages..."

Now in my humble quasi-Christian opinion there's one way to look at this. People have asked the question 'what could be the motivation? Why would they do something that will lead to the destruction of mankind??!!'

My answer to that question is a firm belief that 'they' are willfully seeking the ruin of mankind- for the express purpose of heralding the dawn of the Antichrist.

Sounds whacky? Don't call it until you know more about what our 'leaders' actually believe, what their leaders actually believe, and what shapes the combined actions of these people day by day, week by week, year by year and century by century.

I'll be starting a thread soon to explain my thoughts for anyone who wants to know a bit more about why I believe these seemingly 'crazy' things.

i wholeheartedly agree kwakakev
the copywrite and sole ownership of plant and animal genetic lines is fundamentaly wrong.
it should never even have been considered never mind activly sought by big firms and corps.
it is a subject i hold very close to my heart.
farmers should be stocking up on untainted genetic lines for presservation costs .the fact that these so called gm crops can be pre progremmed to geneticly fail to produce crops after 1 or 2 life cycles is maddness pure maddness. the only thing it ensures is that the poor farmer has to return to the corporation for more geneticly modified seed. at a rising cost mite i add.whilst making it illegel for the farms to grow a plant that has had its gnetics copywriten without the prior consent of the corps.

i find this terrifying.

with a stock of untainted genetics we may have a chance .if you value that which most of us take for granted then we must act and qukly.
stock and store then produce your own.

I must agree. While the four horsemen are really just symbols, they are what is the bane of humanity; pestilence, war, death, conquer. Invoke them all, as much as possible, and the world will need a hero, along with a new world order. It is the world's elite that believe that the anti-Christ will be on their side, and entrust them with the world... what fools, they will reap what they have sown.

Whatever people might do in response to this can rightfully claim self-defense as a motive.
When profits are made at the expense of the commons directly affecting our food supply that is attempted murder.

Though nicotinoids have been banned in europe for a while it is amazing that the MSM has failed to inform us of this!
The implications of the close relationship between EPA, and big ag business spell disaster in protecting anything or anyone....
The exchange of executives between govt and private indust. is a big part of the problem,.
How often do we see the govt agencies headed by expat CEOs and high execs from the private sector reverse or alter decisions made by experts and scientists disallowing risky products or proceedures?
The EPA has a long record of making poor decisions regarding the health and welfare of the people it is sworn to protect and the environment which is its sacred charge.
The corruption goes on right before the public yet there is no outcry or reaction save for the few who are mere voices crying in the wilderness, and who are quickly marginalised by the agency and the MSM.
Somewhere along the line, this will have to be stopped.

I agree. If the honey bees can not take your pesticide and we require the bees for pollination then we are thinking wrong in your farming tactics if we use these pesticides. The government must not be in a position of being complicit as in this case or the rule of law is abandoned by our government and we have these problems.
